TrustpilotKettering Branch
Bought a place early 2018 through the Kettering branch. The sales and rentals guys at this branch were great. Did things when asked and put effort into getting the purchase though.However...the accounts department is an absolute nightmare. Can't follow instructions, put up walls at every turn in order not to do what was asked and frankly came up with some pitiful excuses to do nothing. When they did finally get their fingers out, they did it wrong on multiple occasions. Based in Kettering I would've used them to manage my portfolio in the future, but then accounts got involved and it's a no-go. Ugh...

TrustpilotDon't recommend
I wanted to share my experience with this agency. We went for viewing and put in an offer on the house, the agent said because it's Saturday the offer have to go through a manager - we thought fair enough we can wait till Monday. I had to chase them up to check whether this information has been passed (luckily it was but no one thought to inform me of that). I asked what's the rough time to find out whether the offer has been accepted or not - the manager/supervisor said 1-2 days. So we've waited, no call so had to chase them up on my own to find out they still have no answer. So we just gave up, and it's been 2 or 3 weeks since we made any contact with them and they're still haven't called or contacted us and stopped sending any properties that would match our criteria. I must say that if an agency is trying to sell the house they should be making all the attempts to trying to sell it and contact the buyer and inform them of progress/situation. BTW, the house never even appeared on the market so I assume the vendor doesn't even want to sell. Not impressed at all with how things were handled.

TrustpilotAbsolutely useless
Absolutely useless! All they do is take their commissions and when things need to be sorted and work needs to be done they’re missing in action!!! Incompetent and unprofessional! Sadly, in this country it’s a common thing to have uneducated people doing whatever they want as there are no working laws… avoid at all cost if you can!!!

TrustpilotPeterborough Branch
When dealing with the Peterborough branch, proceed at your own risk. They consistently hire new personnel, and within a week, these new recruits often leave the business, leaving you in a difficult situation. Their lack of understanding on how to treat customers is evident. It is strongly advised not to engage with them at all.

TrustpilotOutstanding service from Connels Coventry mortgage advisor Holly Savage
I used Connels for my mortgage/ financial advice. My contact was Holly Savage in Coventry and I can honestly say that she gave an outstanding service and supported me through every step of the process. She gave me the best mortgage deal I could get, was really friendly and also helped me with the solicitor process. Because I was a first time buyer this process was exciting but also scary. Holly reassured me and guided me through the process. I could not have asked for a better mortgage advisor and will be using her service again in the future.

TrustpilotDO NOT Use this company
DO NOT Use this company. I would have given no stars for if I could. They are a bunch of jobsworths whose inflexibility in disclosing to us information which they had used in the survey we had instructed them to carry out and which we had paid for, meant we were unable to appeal a lower valuation placed on our purchase property by the mortgage lender. We ended up homeless and all we got from the surveyor was ‘we have never been asked to disclose this information to a customer before, we don’t have a policy around it and therefore we don’t want to do it.’

TrustpilotJob for the boys !
Awful, I don’t think these guys could value a toilet if it was in a shop with the price on ! I’m not sure what comparable they are using for market sales and values but it’s completely inaccurate, the agent doing the survey was rude, unapproachable, slammed every window and door so hard it shuddered the home despite the windows and doors been upvc and new ! , Complete joke of a value, downgrade of 50k from market value causing severe problems for lending etc , no evidence to support the value either ! Rubbish

Hi all please stay away from these lot at any cost they are just bunch of bullies and should not be allowed to do the business, we made an offer over asking price and owner was happy to accept the offer but Connelly's then said if we don't buy other services from them e.g solicitor, mortgage than we have got no chance of buying this property I don't know how they are even allowed to do that.

TrustpilotMuppets
Muppets! Wanted to see a house in North Swindon that was being auctioned via their partner-“I am sold”It was Wednesday-I said the auction was ending Thursday-so could I see it today. No they replied-they had a conference call today (higher in their list of priorities than selling your house it would appear) but not to worry the auction would be extended as I was not alone in being unable to view the property before the scheduled deadline.I arranged to see it Friday and duly received confirmation email and text from Connell’s.Surprise Surprise received a communication from the auction house on Thursday confirming it had been sold.Friday morning text from Connell’s cancelling my viewing...Assume other potential buyers received same.Clearly if you have instructed this company to sell your house-you are not necessarily getting the best price-they work at their convenience-not for you.Don’t instruct them eBay might be a better option!David Cutter of Skipton Buiding Society beware -you should check out these guys for jiggery pokery-they are going to seriously damage your reputation-if they haven’t already!

I see brian has had a bad review wrote about him already. you had no intention of doing my home report today you came up with excuse after excuse not to do it and i told just get up and get done. i want the house on the market asap and the home report is the final thing to get done. So he did come and then made an excuse at the door and left so I tried calling him and he ignored my call we both know why.So I called the estate agent and we were trying to rebook it and now I have to wait till next Wednesday for an other home report because of this lazy clown they have been told under no circumstance to use this mob and if they turn up they will be getting told where to go and not in a nice way and I will be removing the house from the estate agent. Avoid at all cost

Have had a very tiring and unpleasant experience trying to rent an apartment with this agency. They and homelet are extremely frustrating when it comes to details needed in the deposit scheme and no matter what happens or what documentation is provided… there is always something else more they require.Almost as if they wouldn’t want you to rent their property and have a specific applicant in mind

TrustpilotIf I could have given 0 stars I would
I was meant to rent a property from them. I paid my holding fee and the reference came through positive. I also got confirmation that I will be moving in after being forced by them to move in at an earlier date. I then made it aware to my previous landlord that I will be moving out. a WEEK before my moving in date they called and say that the landlord decided not to rent me the place after doing his own referencing (which I think is total bull). Now I'm left to hustle to find a new place which I did. Now its time to be reference by the new agency, turns out that connells still have a pending reference in my name and my new reference cannot happen unless they cancel theirs. Ive called a million and 1 times and requested them to cancel it seeing that its only 3 more days left before having to move. They assured me that they will get it done right away and up to now! These people will leave you homeless and not care 1 bit!!!

False accusations of arrears for 4+ months. Representatives have confirmed that there are no arrears, but that the data held in the system is incorrect. No one is able to correct this, and I receive arrears letters ~weekly. The offices appear to be in absolute chaos, none of the representatives take ownership of issues and pass you off to others. Emails are ignored without fail, and when calling in I have to explain the whole situation each time. The complaints procedure has been ignored, I've received no follow up or even acknowledgement.

My personal experience is: that once connells have your contact details, they simply will not leave you alone, should they see potential profit in contacting you. Your wishes will be ignored.I seldome leave negative reviews, but this, in my humble opinion, is well deserved.A recent quote fro Elon Musk, may be appropriate...

TrustpilotTerrible agent
Terrible agent! My agent has been unprofessional starting from the flat viewing stage. Made mistakes on the contract (contracting starting date, move in date etc), being difficult about me opting out the 'default' energy supplier, not being helpful to solve the problems unless I challenged them from legal perspectives. Even though I opted out that energy supplier, I still got a bill from them! And they are reluctant to help whatsoever. It is a pain to deal with such terrible letting agent!

TrustpilotCouldn't even attend a property viewing
I booked a property viewing, confirmed on the site, made an account as they requested to confirm it again, and yet they felt the need to call me four hours before the viewing when I was busy to confirm it yet again. And since I didn't pick up the phone, they assumed I was not attending and bailed on me. I spent a lot of time, effort, and money to arrive there, but somehow they felt like I was a customer wasn't worth their time.

TrustpilotIncompetent
Incompetent. Made an offer on a property, which they wrote up and sent me an email confirming my offer etc. After that, I didn’t hear from them again. I made numerous phone calls over the space of a few weeks to chase it up (was it accepted or not?, do I keep looking? And so on...). Nothing. This was about 8 months ago. Started looking elsewhere, then obviously lockdown happened. Since lockdown I have started looking again. Tonight I went to a viewing I had booked in via email (I have the email thread to prove it) and the viewing agent never showed. So I called the office and they had forgotten to book it in (this is a different branch to the first incident as well). Absolute joke of an estate agents. Will NEVER sell a property with them, and am reluctant to buy through them too.

TrustpilotPoor service and do the bare minimum required
Paid for a full building survey - got 3 hours of their time which resulted in 6 photos (apparently this is the company standard so I shouldn't complain) but lots of sitting on the fence with issues that they couldn't really comment on in detail. Wrote back to ask questions to fill in the gaps and was essentially fobbed off with arguments as to why the survey was done to their standards. When we chose them we had said there was an outbuilding which also needed surveying and was told this would be included, the surveyor on questioning literally wrote 'the level of inspection to the outbuildings is lower than that to the main property'. Really unhelpful and to be honest rude. They don't spend the time they should, make no efforts to survey where there is they slightest obstructing issue and do not care about customer service, just that they have done the bare minimum.

TrustpilotUnethical Company
I had a very bad experience as a first-time buyer. They've agreed for my offer and I got valuation, mortgage approved by the bank. I was hoping to move into a new property in 2-3 weeks and they've now asked me to increase the price for the property as they find another buyer offering more price. I have lost nearly 1000£ as I've paid valuation, solicitor fee etc.I'm very stupid to engage with this unethical company as I've read a lot of bad experience with the company and especially the Aylesbury branch. The worst thing is their mortgage service as they charge you nearly 500£ for that (most of the mortgage advisors are free) and they even did a hard search without my consent just to get an AIP.I strongly recommend any first-time buyer not to go with this company.
