I have very successfully let my flat in Borough for more than nine years through Stirling Ackroyd. Property Manager, Clive Martin, has been responsible, throughout most of that time, for dealing very speedily, efficiently and successfully with tenants on all issues arising during tenancies, with nothing being too much trouble in bringing about a successful outcome. Clive almost always manages to achieve the sometimes difficult objective of pleasing both landlord and tenant at the same time. Fantastic job from Kyle who helped a disorganised bunch of guys find a great house in our first viewing! Helped us negotiate rent with the landlord, fend off other prospective tenants and most importantly seamlessly orchestrated the complete refurbishment of the house including a new paint job, kitchen and bathrooms! The company use electronic documents. Do not sign these as they are totally out of your control. I left a provision in the box provided that had been agreed only to find not on the electronic version; which i had to ask for a copy of as it was not provided. They also use Letting Hub who are a specialist insurer and reference agency. They were rude, demanding and abrupt. I specifically told them not to talk to my accountants and they went ahead, found the number, and called them anyway. Unreal. The guy I was dealing with was nice enough although he promised something he simply lied about later. Unfortunately i trusted him and the provision i left in the agreement was deleted. I can't even find that document now. My biggest gripe is the number of departments and forms. You get them from everywhere. The company must be run by accountants, always a bad idea, to whom cost efficency is more important than client service. They don't seem to realise the bigger cost is not having anyone want to deal with you. They also claimed the flat would be professionally cleaned. Black scuff marks and greasy stains were left all over the walls but that, apparently, is not dirt and so doesn't get cleaned. No doubt they will reply with some idiot platitudes, If they make any changes or improve i will update the review later. That way we can see if platitudes were in fact calls to action.

Judging by the quality of the tenants from this agent, I really do wonder if they do actually get any references for their tenants. So far, we have had one who kept dumping rubbish in the wrong place, a weed smoking dealer, and another one of unsavoury character with lots of noise and unwanted extra visitors and drama. Think twice before using them. You might get a tenant, but your property might not be the same after they move out!

Process was handled well by Abby Gooptu from the Renewals Department. Service provided by Abby was excellent. Absolute disgrace of an Agency! Specially the Property Management Team very unprofessional and arrogant ! 2 months after leaving our apartment and we are still chasing after our deposit ! They just don’t care and ignore our emails! If you are an honest and reliable tenant stay away from Stirling Ackroyd ! Our experience has been terrible and I am appalled by their lack of support and customer service.
