Highly recommended
I am renting two bed property from Hamptons and I have a person to go to - David Whiting - senior manager. David is always helpful, responsive and gets things sorted in no time. Whenever there is a problem ( in the flat) the response is quick. The contractors are friendly and reliable. Highly recommended.

Incompetent and Obnoxious Agents
Incompetent and Obnoxious AgentsI am not one for writing reviews (as frankly I don’t have time) however I felt compelled to do so that hopefully others who are both buyers and sellers will read this before deciding to get in touch with Hamptons Estate Agents, Bath location. In summary, the agents handled the situation very poorly, with a lack of competence and due diligence and a very obnoxious manager/director of the Bath branch following up the situation. I would not be using this agent if I was selling one of my properties. Event as follows: 11th August - Got in touch with Hamptons, Bath over the phone to enquire about a two bedroom apartment in the City of Bath and to initially find out if the lease allows pets and holiday lets. The agent (I won’t give her name) got back to me via phone call to confirm that both were allowed. As they were I felt it was worth driving up to Bath from Bournemouth where I reside to view the property.12th August - Viewing. The agent also wrote to me in email providing me with long and short rental estimates for me to consider, implying that short lets were still okay in accordance to the lease.13th August - I phoned the agent to double check the lease with her and she confirmed that both dogs and short lettings were allowed. 14th August - I wrote to the agent via email with my further questions and to triple check that pets (dogs) were allowed and that short stay lets and/or holiday lettings were allowed in accordance to the lease. 17th August - She responded to say now that the client (the vendor) was going to read through the lease to check - not sure why only till then was this actioned?? She phoned back to say that actually there pets were allowed but the residence of the property could rebuke the pet being allowed on site and furthermore short lettings may not be allowed however I was unhappy understandably with the vagueness so asked her to go back with clarity. The vendor was going to speak to the other neighbours to see if they would allow pets although I was still uncertain of the formal legalities due to it being stated on the lease that pets were allowed. I was now getting very frustrated with the lack of clarity on what the lease actually stated. I proposed that I could submit a reference from one of my neighbours for my dog and/or speak with the neighbours at the property in question. 18th August - still no news therefore I felt it was necessary to write to all of the owners of the other apartments of the site kindly asking for clarify of the lease, specially regarding the lettings period and if dogs were permitted. I made certain to keep the letter friendly, open and transparent not to cause disruption to any of the residents. 19th August - I received a rather unpleasant and unsavoury phone call from Tim Wood (who I shall name) whom I believe to be one of the managers/directors of the Hamptons, Bath branch. He started off saying that the residence had received my letter but they are very angry and have fallen out with the owner of the apartment I was interested in. Moreover, he said the owner doesn’t want any further dealings with me from thereon (albeit I did not either now knowing that pets and short lettings were not allowed). I quite simply put, if the agent and the vendor had done their due diligence in the first place, giving me a clear answer to what the lease states then we wouldn’t have got to this point. I also added my letter was never to cause disruption but felt compelled to action as neither the agent or vendor were giving clear responses re the lease. I disconnected the call due to Tim’s obnoxious tone, manner and outright rudeness to how he approached the situation when actually he should have been calling me to apologise that mistakes occurred and they went about it the wrong way. It meant that I had to drive all the way up to Bath to view a property with the wrong information in hand. It’s a real shame why so many people these day cannot apologies when they clearly know they were in the wrong and I would have respected that a lot more. I really do hope that senior management read through this and consider my case seriously, and would hope (a director myself) that senior management would be especially taking with Tim Wood about this. I’ll leave it there.

Couldn't recommend Hamptons enough! From start to finish Daniel was absolutely amazing, keeping us up to date with everything and making the whole process as smooth as moving house can be! Daniel is an absolute gem- so down to earth and actually made the process enjoyable. We've never come across an estate agent as good as this and can't thank Daniel enough for all his hard work :)

Our flat had been on the market with another company for weeks. Jonathan (Isaac) found someone the same day that he started marketing it. He and everyone at Hamptons Shad Thames has been simply fantastic. Couldn't recommend them more.
Thank you for your review. Customer service is very important to us and we are thrilled to hear the team provided you with a 5* service, particularly Jonathan. We take great pride in our people and look forward to sharing your review with the Tower Bridge team. Thank you again!

Horrible Customer Service
It's my moving day but I have basically had to beg Hamptons for information on my move and am still waiting. Only one person I've spoken to (on phone) there (Karim/Kareem) has been helpful. The agent assisting me went on leave but nobody thought to inform me and seemingly no arrangements as regards my move were made. If I had no backup plan for where to stay tonight I would be in a serious panic. Run, run, run from them. Moves are already stressful, you don't need the additional stress of an uncaring, unreliable agency.

New purchase in Godalming
We recently bought in Godalming, and the team from Hampton's was excellent throughout the process. Ross was always attentive and the replies were swift, even to the most simplistic questions. Extra visits were organised with no fuss, and generally felt supported through the process. Would recommend, and already have to a few mates looking in the area

Very bad tenancy experience
I unfortunately had a very bad experience with The Hamptons in Clapham Old Town. They were unprofessional in their demeanour sounding bored and at times rude on the phone. They did not inform me of the process and when documents were required and I regularly had to chase them to confirm key points when I was moving. They also made errors with my tenancy agreement attempting to overcharge me and luckily I had wonderful landlords who were able to help me resolve the issue. I would avoid using this agency if possible and recommend they place more focus on customer service.

Poor communication and incompetent administration
We have been thoroughly unimpressed by the standard of service given overall. While the branch manager was charming and helpful while pushing to acquire the business, she dropped us like a hot potato once the deal was signed. We have had to push for everything to go through, from keys being collected to the signage, to the brochure which was reissued 3 times, and still managed to be listed incorrectly when first launched! Communication has been abysmal throughout, with lack of clarity over who was responsible for what. Viewings not confirmed so we didn't know whether to prepare, then cancelled without notice. Confusion over feedback from viewings. Essentially if all Hamptons have done is put a few photos online, what justification is there for the many thousands of pounds they hope to acquire from a sale?

Holding the deposit and increase deductions by £100 because of going to TDS
The whole situation with taking the deposit back is very unprofessional. It took a month to come up with deposit deductions. After that, no response to my queries and issues about the deductions. After 2 months I finally decided to go to TDS to get my deposit back. Suddenly they sent an email of they increased the deductions by £100! No explanations at all. Very unprofessional service. Very bad treatment.

Awful at organising viewings
Awful at organising viewings. They came to us about a property and were only able to do the viewing on Saturday afternoon. We emailed back to confirm, no response. We left a message asking if the viewing was still going ahead, no response. We called the morning of the viewing and were told they would call us back to confirm, no response. Turns out an offer had been accepted and they didn't bother to tell us or cancel the viewing.

Poor Management Agents
As letting agents, and management agents for let property. The vetting policy is extremely basic, which results in poor candidates. Our Tenant stopped paying. The when the tenant absconded without notice, Hamptons did not know they had left until we asked for an inspection of flat. Hamptons continued to charge a management fee throughout the period, when we had no money coming in, and were legally trying to get possession of the flat back. They held onto the £500 float for over a year, despite me asking for the refund. Do not touch them with a barge poll. Lovely employees but the culture/ethics is all about the money. I had to get a solicitor involved to help with the flat repossession, Hamptons were as much use as a chocolate frog.

Deluged with junk mail from Hamptons
I’m fed up receiving junk marketing material from Hamptons. Every week something comes through my door about houses they have sold or let in my area. Once a year might be ok but every week - it’s a waste of paper resources and very irritating for the recipient. I’ve tried emailing asking them to remove my address from receiving these communications - without success. I’m so cross about it, I would never dream of giving them any business.

Property Manager- Sam JenningsWe have used Hamptons for many years and Sam is the best manager that we have had at Hamptons and she has had to deal with some difficult tenants and leaks/floods and me. She has always been proactive and gets on with sorting out the issues with the minimum of fuss.
