TrustpilotIncompetent Staff with no concern to service delivery
I am not one to usually complain in a public forum, unless the experience has been so horrendous that it warrants such action. We are owners of properties that used Hamptons for a few years on two units within our portfolio. They used to be great! However, at the latest renewal, I have never experienced such incompetence from what should be a "professional estate agent."Mentioned to them that our colleague who usually handled renewals was on maternity leave (on two occasions) and to update their system with an alternate email address for communications and renewals. Confirmed this is done on both occasions and yet when it comes to sending documents, they continue to send to the colleague on maternity leave. To makes this worse the documents are protected so no-one else but the recipient can view. How difficult can it be, to update a system with a new contact detail?Emails never get responded to or take about 1-2 weeks. When they do come, apologies are frivolous with no real action on resolving but rather just a generic "sorry".In the end we had to inconvenience our colleague (who had just given birth) to access her emails and authorise a renewal as waiting for Hamptons would have either never happened or would have delayed our renewal beyond expiry. Absolutely shocking service delivery, and to date no apology instead they send an invoice for their fees! Would definitely not recommend this agency to anyone who is looking for a professional firm that values clients small or big with respectable service. Many better options available else where with better fee structures too. I hope this helps anyone else who is considering a good estate agent.

TrustpilotI would leave zero stars if I could
I would leave zero stars if I could. Had my property on the market for 8 weeks with them, 3 of which were over the summer holiday. They undervalued initially then asked me twice to reduce the price despite an identical house selling for £75k more than they had valued mine at. Did nothing to pro actively market and seemed interested only in the commission they wanted to make. Then sent me an email telling me as I would not reduce the price any further they were withdrawing their services. Just abhorrent behaviour. DO NOT USE.

GoogleTop, top service. I sold and bought through Hamptons. Their recommendations for a mortgage adviser and removals company were excellent and, most impressive of all, the Shad Thames office found me not only the perfect apartment for me but also recommended me exactly the kind of neighbourhood I was looking for, a neighbourhood I was not aware of. Moving is a huge investment and change of life and getting us into the right space and in the right place is vital. I am truly grateful for the expertise and the way the whole process was handled. Genuinely recommended.

TrustpilotHamptons Godalming - Superstars!
We recently bought a house through Hamptons Godalming and the service was wonderful. From the viewings with Pippa, to all the support from Jason to get everything finalised in under 10 weeks!! Fab team all around and would certainly recommend and use again - though maybe not for a while! We love our new home!! Thank you Jason, and all the team at Hamptons Godalming

GooglePeter and his team were outstanding. As someone new to the sales process, I was looking for an agent who could support me, act with integrity and get the right result - the Hamptons team achieved that and more. There were numerous viewings quickly after the property went on to the market, and a wonderful buyer shortly after. The customer care from Peter and his team was fantastic. Highly recommend.

TrustpilotInefficient and opportunistic
Hamptons has been very punctual and helpful when it comes to sign contracts and seal the deal for renting apartments. We had a terrible experience, after that, as the agents wouldn’t respond to us in an efficient manner when it comes to fix things at the start of the tenancy. After 3 weeks we still believe that the flat we moved in to wasn’t sufficiently cleaned properly, which was promised at the start of the tenancy and no one seems helpful in fixing this issue. We are in disbelief of the inefficiency of the office in Paddington. When it comes to send money or finish contracts they are super responsive, however after, we had the worst customer experience I have ever seen . The day of our move in, WE had to contact them in order to get keys for the new flat, and never received any help after that. At this time, after 3 weeks of moving in, we still haven’t received any help to solve minor issues.

TrustpilotExceptional Service and Support from Hamptons
My experience with Hamptons has been positive, largely due to the exceptional assistance provided by Ms. April Keane. When I found myself locked out after forgetting my keys inside the house, she went above and beyond to help me. Instead of having to call a costly locksmith, Ms. Keane promptly arranged for a spare key, saving me both time and money. Her professionalism, responsiveness, and willingness to resolve the situation efficiently were greatly appreciated. Hamptons is clearly committed to providing excellent customer service, and Ms. Keane’s efforts reflect the company’s dedication to client satisfaction.

My property manager Max is very efficient and promptly resolves any issues I might have. Old properties come with their share of problems, but I’ve always had the issues raised on the app resolved quickly.

TrustpilotHamptons letting service for landlords…
Hamptons letting service for landlords not fit for purpose. Hamptons managed my property in Stratford upon Avon in a very unprofessional way. They have very poor communication and mis managed the property while still charging very high fees. After requesting a section 21 to be sent to my tenants at the end of their contract, Hamptons filled out the form incorrectly. Do not trust them to manage your property. Sorting out the mess and mistakes they made has cost me time, money and stress. JUST read response from Hamptons and have already contacted customer care to make an official complaint.

TrustpilotNOT ALL HEROS WEAR CAPES
Firstly I think it’s important to establish that in my 42 years of life; I have never, ever, written a complaint review of any sort. As I generally can’t be bothered; and let’s face it - what’s really going to be done about it anyway. Who cares what a “Karen” really thinks. However, if this changes just one persons mind about a Hamptons letting, then I will die safe in the knowledge that I have fulfilled my duty to protect and serve. After renting the flat from Hamptons (which in itself was attritional, but not enough for me to go into detail about) my partner and I have been inundated with problem after problem with the flat itself. Everything from the flat being dirty when moving in, to broken beds not fit to use, and a shower leak that still isn’t fixed 12 months later. Leading to water seeping into the entire flat, which has developed mould in the carpets, walls, doors and skirting. Enter into the fray (stage right) the Hamptons Property Management team. A team so devoid of ability to coordinate, communicate or deliver anything of substance; I honestly thought at various points a friend was pranking me. At times it feels as if this team is intentionally useless. Like a social experiment to test the patience of the nation. In 10 months we have had 3 different property managers ranging in ability from; useless to pathetic. Under the useless stewardship of Alex Ferrin who categorically told me that the landlords were more important than the tenants; we have had Grace, Donna and now Minneaux as property managers that do nothing to help or support residents with genuine problems. Not cosmetic issues like chipped paint…but broken, useless essentials like a shower!Several of these issues are still not fixed at the time of writing this….12 months after reporting them. Shower and Bed principally. We have had to contact a solicitor to pursue our landlord and Hamptons for compensation on these matters. We continued paying the rent to maintain the high ground when this inevitably reaches court to satisfy the situation. But it is through massively gritted teeth. Estate agents can get a bad name. But Hamptons have earned it.

TrustpilotHow Hamptons totally left us high and dry
we had arranged to move in to a new property with Hamptons, everything was going fine. the last minute the current tenants of the property we had hoped to move in to fell through, it happens. how ever at that point baring in mind we had signed the tenancy agreement, also considering we had given our notice on our current property. the landlord/ Hamptons should have been liable to sort us out accommodation in that situation. Hamptons came back with a statement saying, they had signed but not dated the contract and therefore were not obligated to help at all. this is the shadiest thing ive ever witnessed. during that phase, where you have given notice and signed new contract, its imperative you are protected by the tenancy contract for situations just like this. if you are going to do business with Hamptons, triple check everything. we had a week to find a new property, we ended up somewhere far less than ideal. I would sincerely recommend not doing business with Hamptons

TrustpilotExcellent service
We had been with Hamptons for more than 2 years and I would like to send my great appreciation for their exceptional service. Especially to Ms Harleigh Doherty who had been our property manager. She was always prompt with just about everything that we had concerned about. Had the property was not put on sale, we will definitely be staying and wouldn’t think of moving out. Thank you so much for all the help and outstanding service!

GoogleAs a first time buyer there are a plethora of agents looking to provide services and more importantly opinions (objectivity impaired of course). Working with Will Wisbey was a pleasure and refreshing experience, someone who provides advice when asked and his opinion on the market was objective, honest and portrayed reality. I viewed other properties offered by other agents and there was a fine divide between; 1) agents with a serious laissez-faire attitude (clearly too many interested parties to care), 2) agents that would constantly bombard you with calls and emails (wanting an offer but then never getting back to you). Will struck a great balance and on reflection Hamptons (Shad Thames) is a class outfit. He recognised that spending a serious amount of money requires a serious amount of thought, negotiation and due diligence. Naturally as this was my first purchase there was a lot of negotiating, pondering and hesitation (4.5 months to close) all of which Will took in his stride. He was mindful of both vendor and purchaser and always ensured to please both parties as best he could. The way in which Will conducted the transaction was exemplary and I would certainly recommend and if chance has it, work with him again!

GoogleWill and Camilla were exceptional in helping me with my property search in Bermondsey and Rotherhithe. In the early stages Will took time and showed me a variety of properties and gave me an honest appraisal of each one and finally Camilla came up with a great little house that had just come to the market and was in my price range. There was no chain and the purchase went through in about nine weeks. I would heartily recommend Hamptons, and in particular Will and Camilla, to any prospective buyer or seller.

Trustpilotwe've got very negative experience as tenants, the agent was lying to us, causing us quite a lot of anxiety.
TLDR: we've got very negative experience as tenants, the agent was lying to us, causing us quite a lot of anxiety. After reference check, and accepted offer, the landlords kept delaying signing the contract for over 3 weeks. The agent (Evelyn Aragundi) communicated to us that there are no reasons for the delay, and motivated the delay with very interesting arguments "so we have everything confirmed", "they are really relaxed personalities", "they're currently travelling,", "they're very busy people", "there's no reason for this as such, I mean it's not like they're unsure". After some very involved week, we've got an email from a manager (James White) of the agent saying that "date was a bit vague until a more conclusive timeframe was confirmed".That clearly demonstrated that agent lied to us, stating that "so we have everything confirmed" while it was not. We wont make an offer in the first place, if we knew that. Worst of all, during the process we've seen no intention to clearly comunicate situation to us, and no intention to find a solution that would work for both parties.

TrustpilotAssumingly a "large" company but plays "dirty little" tricks wasting buyers and vendors time
We wish having seen the review titled "As untrustworthy as they come"The Canary Wharf office of Hamptons did the same to us. They confirmed in WRITTING the acceptance of our offer last Friday. We provided IDs and proof of funds on the same day that they were happy with. However, 1st thing on Monday morning they say the solicitors acting for the Vendors accepted another offer when Solicitors do not even work during the weekend. Worse still, the offer was put forward by the same office which is really odd as the property was marked SOLD on the portals already. So we echo the feedback below:As untrustworthy as they come. When making an offer on a property we found that they just simply used our offer to create a false market where there was previously no other bidder despite property being on the market for some time... Outcome being some one else has also clearly been misled and ended up paying over the odds for a property based on games. We even made the offer that they say the vendors would accept. Now they say someone offered much higher once THEY told the new buyer that some one else made an offer being accepted already hence the property is off the market. What Hamptons is playing here, is encouraging Gazumping which is bad for all parties. Not surprisingly some of their other transactions fell through thus, Vendors lose out on sales and time. Buyers and vendors wishing to work on fair market price should be wary of this dirty games as some one definitely gets hurt by wasting time and money unnecessarily.
