Renting in Winchester

Charters have provided a first-class service for the three years in which I have rented my one-bedroom flat in Winchester. Everything has been smooth, from viewing the flat to acquisition, liaising with the landlord about renewals, reporting things that needed to be fixed, beginning and end of tenancy, etc. Helen Nicol in particular has been great: easy to get hold of, quick to respond via email, efficient and understanding. Charters stay in regular contact but also leave you alone to enjoy the property. You can always pop into their offices where they are friendly and generous with their time. Couldn't recommend them more highly and would gladly rent or buy with them in the future!

I instructed Charters, Alton Branch with the sale of my home in a village just outside Alton. I met with Sarah Harris at my home address and found her to be knowledgeable of the area & current market. Sarah was very enthusiastic and relished the opportunity to market my property. It was a difficult time in my life but Sarah was highly motivated in achieving my goal of a sale. I had several other valuations that ranged in price, but felt confident with the valuation Sarah provided. It was a slow start around Christmas; to be expected, but Sarah and the team worked hard. Sarah really understood my situation and was empathetic to my need to find a buyer. This was achieved and my completion date is very soon. Sarah also went the extra mile for me when my return holiday flight was cancelled delaying return for two days. She took responsibility for ensuring a surveyor could access the property in my absence. I was immensely grateful for this. Letting Experience with Sarah Bainbridge

After searching for rentals for several months, Sarah came through and delivered on all and every front. When we lost hope due to the extremely competitive nature of the market, Sarah was there to help, her perseverance ultimately being the reasoning for us (Partner and I) eventually finding a place. Sarah went truly above and beyond, extremely responsive with communication, working all hours and I cannot fault her. Be careful when viewing houses with Charters. The estate agents will just lie and make things up. It was quite an experience talking to the seller and realising quite how many lies the estate agent had told. Probably the most annoying is that I was told the floor was engineered wood - it's actually vinyl. He also told me that the sellers would move as soon as the house sale went through - this was untrue. The sellers had stipulated that they would not move until the school holidays. The seller was surprised I didn't already know this.

Harry and all the team at Charters in Farnham made the whole process of selling my house as pain free as it could be.The communication was excellent throughout and everyone was unfailingly courteous, patient and timely over the whole period of the sale. Special shout out to Dee, who did most of the leg work and was an absolute pleasure to deal with. My friends and I got in touch with Charters a week ago in regards to renting a property, Sarah Bainbridge (Lettings Negotiator) was able to provide a viewing that same day! As soon as we saw the property, we knew we wanted it, and Sarah was so friendly, clear and communicative with us in terms of starting the application process. She even sent us an email to get the ball rolling as we were leaving the building.We were determined to get things sorted as soon as possible (though with no pressure put on staff), and got straight to it. Sarah and her colleague, Martha O'Sullivan (Pre-Tenancy Manager) have both been so quick to respond and have been so immensely effective at helping us through the application/referencing/documenting process. Again it has been one week since we viewed the property, we are currently awaiting reference approval amd are set to move in the next couple of weeks.I cannot recommend Charters enough and am extremely happy (and fortunate) to have had their help.

The only agents I would use

Charters are the only agents I would use. I own a small one bedroom flat in Winchester which has been let via Charters since I have owned it, and they never fail to disappoint- with the most recent tenancy they managed to get £100 pcm over the asking price, and several further offers at the asking price- I don’t know how they managed this! Gary and his team are true experts and the whole team are very professional. Would always recommend Charters.
