A special thanks to Jorgia Tye and Brett Colman at the Chandler’s Ford branch. Although the process of our sale is currently in its final stages, I wanted to leave this review to highlight the quite simply wonderful support, professionalism and very clear work ethic that has been given to us. All of the team have been friendly and willing to help whenever necessary. Jorgia’s kind and caring approach, along with willing to go above and beyond has meant a lot to us. Our appreciation must also be given to Brett, whose knowledge and dedication helped guide us throughout this process.

Sales progression great

Charters is a mixed bag in my opinion and people driven. I think the branch team (bitterne in our case) is pedestrian but no more so than any other estate agent. Where things really happen is the communication that you get once a sale is agreed. I must say that Gary Hansford has been excellent. We’ve gone through an emotional, testing and turbulent 18 months in our quest to move house and Gary has been with us every step of the way. He’s had to endure our ups and downs with us and has been professional throughout. I’d go as far to say as I felt Gary was as invested in our transaction as we were. Charters is the best estate agent in Southampton in my opinion having dealt with a few.

I have recently sold my house through Charters in Alton. I thought Sarah, Toby and the team were excellent, not only did they sell my house in the first 2 weeks, they also got me asking price. Once my sale was agreed I dealt with Gary Hansford who was nothing short of exceptional. He was extremely efficient, patient and did a great job in managing the process through to completion. I would highly recommend Charters in Alton.

Our experience with Charters has been really great

Our experience with Charters has been excellent, largely due to Emma Lee who has been amazing. Communication has been really good and Emma is always on hand to help. She has also kept in touch regularly and been pro-active in sending us information regarding any properties that fit our requirements. We have a very specific set of requirements and she has never made us feel that we are difficult in any way. If you want someone who listens to what you want and does everything they can to facilitate that, Emma and Charters are the place to look.

Initial contact with Charters was very good and professional. The staff who conducted viewings were polite and communicative. However, at times I was asked to do my own viewings because they were too busy. Once the house was sold, communication became poor, and I felt that the buyer was given more priority than us. We purchased through Charters too, and I found a senior member in the branch to be rude, which made me feel uncomfortable. On completion, there was no excitement, congratulations, or even a small token of appreciation for selling and buying through them. I know other estate agents often provide flowers or a small gift. There was also no communication post-sale, not even a receipt of payment for their fee or any acknowledgment of gratitude. Honestly, they took £13,000 for very little work. I don’t like how you deal with so many different people there, I’d prefer to stick with one agent throughout the whole process. Would I recommend them? Sadly, no. However, As I say, the chaps that did the viewings were a pleasure to deal with.

Business-like Charters

Charters were a revelation to deal with, I have been a landlord for over 35 years and in that time have rented a number or properties, and dealt with a number of agents. Charters were always extremely professional in their approach, keeping me fully informed at all times during relets. they were courteous and friendly but above all always business-like. I would have no problem in recommending them to other landlords and/or tenants. I found their managers Jenna Miles and Kamila Manila particularly helpful in my dealings with them.

Professional and Friendly

I had a great experience again with Charters while we were moving to Southampton. They were friendly and quite professional. Sophie Pickering was very proactive and reached out to me with a list of available properties that suited our requirements and also helped us with getting a viewing as well as our new rental property. Andy Jerram was also helpful in answering our queries as well. I was also happy with the different Charters properties as they were well kept and maintained.We also had a good experience in the past with Charters Winchester for our earlier tenancy and hence we preferred them when moving to a new location as well. Overall, I would recommend Charters as they are quite professional, customer focussed and also have various setups/mechanisms for helping in getting a smoother tenancy.
