TrustpilotSales progression team lied and not very professional.
We are in the process of buying a bungalow at the moment and the sales progression team told us the vendor had been to sort the electrics and service the boiler..previous tennants had apparently got in debt so electric was cut off..Hunters lied saying this would be sorted. A second viewing 2 weeks later and a wasted 120 mile journey confirmed nothing had been sorted. When we told them we were disappointed with them we were told to leave the property.

TrustpilotDamaged our house, and we're not even their clients!
Hunters hung a "for sale" sign on our property, which was a surprise to us, since we were neither selling nor letting the property. When asked to take it down, four visible holes have been left in the wall of our home. It has been six and a half weeks, and the holes are still there. In a couple of weeks, we're going to need to escalate this to the ombudsman.

TrustpilotAgent Harj was full of fake promises
Agent Harj was full of fake promises. Although he was all smiles and seemed friendly, the minute we left after our viewing he didn’t return texts or calls and shyed away from any contact. After several calls to the agents I finally managed to find out myself that the property had been given to someone else, rather than them calling me to inform me I had to dig this information out of them which was frustrating. Avoid!

TrustpilotBad communication
I have been trying to contact them for 4 months in regards to my flat and contract but they are absolutely appalling at responses and making things clear and helpful for those they are letting to. They have sent me in so many different directions on who to contact and have stopped responding to me within one week of me first contacting them. On top of this it took them weeks to respond and report to maintenance issues, and when they did the response I got was rude and abrupt. As well as that they issues weren't resolved fully resulting in me feeling uneasy in what was meant to be my own space. Absolutely awful service and wouldn't even consider letting/renting from them again.

TrustpilotPathetic estate agency
Pathetic estate agency! The guy who is showing properties mixing up addresses and you end up viewing a different one. If you make an offer they show a very keen interest in person then no-one ever comes back to you. The property owners will never get to find out who made offers and they may just losing out on perfectly good tenants…!They do not even talk to each other within the office to relay interest. You get a bunch of promise, but that is all!Laura is useless!

GoogleI have been a tenant of Hunters Knowle for nearly 2 years and have always looked been very professional and they have been very responsive if I have any issues in regard to maintenance.
I have been very impressed and full well whole heartedly agree that this is how a estate agency should treat their client.
Absolutely amazing got me as a client for life.
Once again

GoogleBeen treated very poorly by estate agent. The propery that I have rented in the Solihull/Sheldon area is full of damp and mould it is that serious that it has made my health very bad and that of my partner who stays a few times who is currently pregnant. I have reported all the faults with the property and they asked my partner who is pregnant to clean the mould off the wall. Not only has this property affected our health it has completely recked all our belongings including brand new items brought for my child. I have a lot of photo evidence of this. Other faults have included the property fuse box started burning and a damp patch outside bathroom along with mould in the freezer that is completly unuseable and fridge door that is completely broke off and £160 of food wasted. There is a massive gap under the door big enough for a child to get hand in and no heating in both bedrooms. I mentioned how it has affected my health to the property agent and the reply was the sooner you move the sooner you will feel better, I requested a property move after the place nearly caught fire and they said they would not move me and I can leave and pay the rent. I was served a section 21 and blamed for damages that were not checked by the agents then when checked said I had not caused them then made other accusations. I have been bullied and treated disgustingly but in there minds they don't see anything wrong and make excuses and are constantly sticking up for landlord. I am not the only person who has been treated poorly by the agent. I cannot contact the agent without the feeling I am going to get a nasty reply or be talked down to. I have contacted head office but again they fully stick up for the agent and landlord. Customer service is beyond appualing. Happy to take money, not happy to help at all when you have problems. Avoid at all costs. As an update on previous review, the structure of the property has a lot of holes in the walls of the exterior of the porperty which is contributing to the damp and mould as is the cause of wrecking all of my property and my unborn childs. I have been harrassed by the estate agent they demanded access to the property and have sent more accusations. Do not report any problems as you will get your section 21 and be asked to repair for costs you haven't made without assessing the situation. The council have forced the agent to make repairs to the property although I have complained again and again. The whole process has been a joke to them and they will make you feel that you have no tentant rights at all. Save your money and find a better agent who will actually look after you as a tenant as this property has cost me a fortune in rent and now personal property for items that are also irreplaceable. Also made to live in the freezing cold because there is not adequate heating within the property.

GoogleHaving noticed our 'dream home' pop onto the market the day after Boxing Day 2018, we needed to move FAST to stand any chance of getting ours sold and to allow us to be in a proceed able position to pursue the house we had our sights on.
After a meeting with Lisa, she went above and beyond to help to advise us and got us up and on the market within a mere few days, and bookings for viewings were secured by Ellie within 24 hours of the house going live! Ellie was a delight, always keeping me informed of progress and working to manage viewings to suit our busy diaries. Within a week of going on the market, we'd received several offers, one of which was significantly over the asking price!
Once we had a sale STC, we were quick to view the home we loved a second time, and although there was a lot of interest, the whole team were great and really helped to minimise any anxiety as the offers process unfolded. Luckily, our offer was successful!
Now, the reigns were handed over to Amelia to progress the sale and purchase and she was simply amazing! Totally 'on it' ahead of the game and super proactive.
From our first exploratory meeting with Lisa, to the day we received the keys to our new 'forever' home, the whole Team were an absolute pleasure to deal with.
What could have been an enormously stressful event (especially as we were going on holiday 3 days after the moving date with two very young children!) it couldn't have run any more smoothly and I absolutely believe that this was down to the team at Hunters.
Hunters may have suffered some reputational damage over the last couple of years due to legacy staff, but from my experience Lisa is excelling at leading a really strong team to rebuild Hunters as the go to premium agency that it once was. Thank you so much Team - it was a pleasure to work with you.

GoogleOur first experience of Hunters was when we bought our property, which was marketed through them in 2013. We found them to be honest, professional and very accommodating throughout the process and really helped push things along with solicitors etc. to get the sale through.
Our experience was so positive that we approached them again when we decided to sell the property six years later. We first worked with Lydia and Abbie, who were incredibly proactive, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. They gave us great advice which helped to find a buyer for the property.
From that point on, we were in contact with Amelia, who helped us to progress the sale. Amelia was fantastic - she went above and beyond to help us get the sale over the line. She was very proactive, and always picked up the phone or got back to us straight away. We had problems with our own solicitors, and Amelia did everything she could to help. Without Amelia, and everyone at Hunters, I honestly don't know how we would have managed to sell our property!
I would not hesitate to recommend Hunters. They were instrumental in us managing to sell our property and were an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish.

Appalling group of folks! This group has no idea what they are doing. we worked with Selina and she was absolutely clueless and brought wrong/unverified information to the table. If I were looking to rent, I would be running as far as possible from this agency or owners they work with! if there were minus points that is what I would give them for ripping a kid off!

GoogleThanks to David Curven and the team at Hunters. The purchase of our property through them and the sale of our property was handled professionally, efficiently, and with utmost courtesy.
It was a pleasure to deal with a professional team that reminded one of how customer service used to be like in the old days with a hands on approach by the Hunters team.
Good luck to the team.

GoogleI cannot thank Angela Ward enough for her tenacity and common sense applied to an extremely difficult situation. Without her intervention and common sense in bringing all parties together to get it resolved the sale would not have completed. Angela was always available to speak to and always returned calls, unlike other parties involved and her commitment and dedication, even when she was out of the office was enormously appreciated. Keep up the excellent work Angela it was a pleasure dealing with you.

GoogleMy experience with Hunters selling a house has left a very unpleasant taste in the mouth.
They valued the house at £675000. My initial involvement was with Matt but he left Hunters soon afterwards. He was friendly.
The initial marketing and a video tour of the house were very good. The sales process however was by contrast very poor indeed. And let's face it, if you are selling, that's the bit you want to be very good and are paying very good money for.
I never met any of the prospective purchasers. I was not involved in discussions with them. The property was empty which may or may not be of significance.
I received 3 offers around the same time - all for £600000. That in itself is quite a coincidence. I felt was put under considerable pressure to give these totally unrealistic offers serious consideration.
I was at that time prepared to accept £650000.
Unfortunately over last Autumn following the long dry Summer of 2022 some cracking had developed in the plasterboard in the living room. There was a subsidence scare which was ultimately ruled out by an insurance company's expert report.
However it obviously moved the goalposts a little.
Hunters told me that I had an alternative offer: either £600000 now or £630000 in 6 months time if the cracks were monitored and various works were paid for.
£600000 was too low and 6 months too long to wait. Neither offer was acceptable to me, only to Hunters.
The contact between me and Matt's replacement was never cordial and I felt I was being talked down to as if I didn't know what I was talking about.
I felt I was being cornered and it was a take it or leave it.
Indeed because I did not accept this conditional offer I received the following email from Hunters:
" Unfortunately I do think at this stage there is little more that we can do to help you with the sale of xx xxxxxxx xxxxxx. ........ I do suggest that you to (sic) take the house of the market......"
So I did.
However, the prospective purchasers were extremely disappointed with this. They sent letters to the property saying that they still wanted to buy the property. And so we then had to deal face to face with each other.
They too had not been happy with their dealings with Hunters.
It turns out that they were prepared to proceed immediately without all the preconditions and a 6 month delay for a figure of £635000.
So in short - can you do better? Yes you can.
Do I feel that Hunters adequately put forward our positions? No I don't.
I advised Hunters of the sale through my solicitor.
Do they still want full commission?
They are estate agents aren't they? !
But at least I, yes I, managed to sell the house, and the original sales particulars and video tour were very good.

GoogleThe most important thing for me in choosing a Lettings Agent is being able to trust the advice and assistance provided and feel confident the staff will act promptly on my behalf to look after my tenants interests as well as my interests. . All the staff I deal with at Hunters Lettings are efficient and helpful and hard to single anyone out ut special mention must go to Leanne, Jo and the brilliant Oksana who handles all sorts of maintenance and decorating issues for me. I’ve let my properties through Hunters on a full management basis for the past 9 years and feel very satisfied with the service.

GoogleAs a purchaser, I have found Hunters very responsive and professional. Angela is a complete credit to the company, efficiently and professionally communicating with all parties to manage any issues in the chain. Angela's experience, knowledge, common sense and professionalism have ensured that my purchase has run smoothly. This was particularly important when issues arose, which were dealt with extremely quickly. I cannot speak highly enough of how Angela's involvement has made the experience so much better than my past property purchase/sales with other estate agents in Solihull. Thanks

TrustpilotMoney for nothing
Make no mistake they aren't worthy of even one star! This Hunters franchise (Sea Road Sunderland) and their so called MD Chris Kelly and his team failed to carry our property inspections and investigate complaints from neighbours in relation to the neglect and horrendous decline of my property over a three year period. We as landlords put our faith in the letting agent and trust they will do a good job in managing our properties. I'm now £7k down trying to repair the property to a good standard. The failure of this company to manage the property and the tenants has left me significantly disadvantaged. Mr Kelly has not responded to my many complaints and requests for compensation and has instead left the franchise, no doubt to make another fortune charging 15% off the back of other unsuspecting landlords! Hunters are a company well known and trusted in our area but be warned, these agents are hiding behind that brand and are able to operate without scrutiny or regulation!!

TrustpilotAre the staff in the Highfield Road…
Are the staff in the Highfield Road office volunteers on some sort of day release programme ? I can only presume so because no company management in their right mind would pay them to do NOTHING, my 3 messages to request a viewing fell on deaf ears, yet it is still available for rent, appalling behaviour, does the owner of the rental know who they have looking after their property, in this case they soon will, Land Registry gave me the owners details and I am in the process of asking the owner directly for a viewing appointment as their "representatives" are awol.

TrustpilotUNPROFESSIONAL AND DISHONEST
Hunters Stevenage is extremely unprofessional and dishonest!I want to caution everyone considering them before handing over a deposit, as they will go to great lengths to keep your money.I had been renting for eight years prior to this, in various properties with different agents, and never encountered any issues with the return of my deposit. It's incredibly frustrating trying to get a response from them, even through email. Without a doubt, they are the worst estate agent I've ever had to deal with. I lived in a rented house through them for nearly two years but recently purchased my own place through Own Homes (which hasn't had any issues).Hunters is currently refusing to refund my deposit after two months, citing a small rip in the carpet near the radiator pipe and a crack in the bath. Both of these issues were present when I first moved in.They are taking an unreasonable stance and are also claiming an inability to communicate with the landlord for nearly a month. They're even using minor issues like mold on the bathroom sealant and three burnt-out light bulbs as reasons not to return my deposit.Furthermore, after two months, they are now trying to deduct money from my deposit, citing a weed issue in the front garden.Letting Manager sent me an email at 7:14 PM, and immediately after that, I went to the house and took photos to document the situation. It's truly baffling how unreasonable they are being.I consistently paid the rent on time and took excellent care of the house while I was there, even installing a new shower. However, I'm currently facing issues retrieving my deposit, as I had to hire a cleaning company to restore the house to its original condition. This has been an ongoing process please be cautious when dealing with Hunters Stevenage!!!"
