We recently had the pleasure of working with Amy as our letting agent for renting out our flat, and we couldn't be happier with her service. From the outset, Amy demonstrated exceptional professionalism and expertise. She provided insightful advice on preparing the property for potential tenants, which included recommending a few small but impactful improvements. Her keen eye for detail and her understanding of the local rental market were invaluable in setting a competitive yet fair rental price. Amy's communication skills were top-notch. She kept us informed at every stage of the process, from advertising the property to screening potential tenants. Her updates were timely and thorough, which greatly alleviated any anxieties we had about finding the right tenant. The tenant selection process was seamless and efficient, thanks to Amy's diligent approach. She conducted thorough background checks and ensured that all necessary paperwork was handled smoothly. The tenant she has found for our property is lovely, which speaks to her ability to match landlords with the right renters. Overall, Amy made the entire experience stress-free and straightforward. I highly recommend her services and Hunters Lettings (Knowle) to any landlord seeking a reliable and professional letting agent. Thanks again.

lettings fees are very high

For lettings their fees are very expensive. First 3 months of my 450 rent studio flat they took and I did not get anything. When tenant leaves another month will be gone as inventory check is 180 and cleaning in 250 and this is for a studio flat. If i want to cancel the contract i have to pay 900. Stay away.

We had just had a horrendous 18 months, trying to sell our house with 3 of Knowles 'leading' estate agents, who all gave an appalling level of service and support. On the day we dismissed the 3rd agent, we called Hunters in Knowle and asked if they had anyone on their books who might be interested in our house and within 24 hours we had a viewing, an offer within 7 days and are now happily in our new home. Ellie Vaughan was brilliant. She listened, understood and acted promptly. Most importantly, she owned the process of selling our home, she was always contactable and kept in constant contact throughout the entire process. Nothing was too much trouble for her. The other agents all told a good story, but all failed to live up to their word, they failed miserably, were often uncontactable, unresponsive and lacked any drive or commitment when trying to sell our house. They were driven by commission only, whereas Hunters were true partners in the sale. From day one, they made promises and delivered and I cannot recommend them highly enough.PositiveResponsiveness, Professionalism, Value

We received a fantastic service through Hunters when purchasing our property. Always extremely professional and responsive to any message we sent or queries we had. Hunters are not only efficient at selling but ensuring that completion takes place, this is essential to the customer. Lydia supported us through our transaction. She always responded to our emails and calls right from the stage of us making an offer on the property through to completion. Thank you so much Lydia for making this a smooth transaction! We also wanted to mention Jack, who when Lydia was on leave was able to just pick up where she had left off and continue to support us. Thank you Jack!PositiveResponsiveness, Professionalism

I have only great things to say about Hunters Middleton!

I have only great things to say about Hunters Middleton branch! From the very first phone call right up to exchanging contacts They have been beyond brilliant. I absolutely loved the pictures of my house and the write up most definitely did my house justice. My house sold within 4 days and I was over the moon with the price!Nicole was the shining star for me- she kept in daily contact and was the most reassuring and helpful person every single step of the process. She chased up people when they needed it ensuring the sale moved along at pace. Thank you so much Hunters but especially a massive thank you to Nicole- you have been amazingly!

Disappointed is an understatement..

To say we’re disappointed with the level of communication from the Horncastle Branch with Michael and Susan Noonan is an understatement and the level of service is a far cry from Michael's commitment to customer experience.Researching this branch shows multi-occasions that this activity has happened here.If you’re viewing a property with the intent to buy, don’t expect them to tell you if any other parties are interested. They’ll just pull it from under your feet along with any visions or excitement of a future you had in said house.Viewed a property two weeks ago, following the viewing we had a really positive conversation with Susan in the office expressing great interest, no more than a week later sold to another buyer with no communication. It would have been professional and courteous to reach out to the buyer but more so to the seller, as I’m certain they would like to have known of other interest. Susan and Michael took away any opportunity or chance to put in any offers, resulting in many wasted hours.I wouldn’t usually leave a review; but the tone in which Susan delivered the news was blunt, lacked any sort of empathy and very closed, to date I am still waiting for a reply to my email which I can only assume has been ignored. We will steer clear of this company for future sales and purchases, knowing that their priority doesn’t appear to be with either buyer or seller.Happy to receive a call or email to discuss our experience with you.

Hunters are not interested

Hunters let the house adjacent to ours. There have been multiple pipe leaks around the bathroom causing flooding which in turn is causing damp smells on our side due to the length of time taken to address the issues. It's been repaired after four weeks now within hours water is currently coming through the ceiling next door soaking our party wall and they have told the tennant it's livable no problem.

Feeling sorry for vendors hoping to sell their property

Mid of August I telephoned Hunters Sunderland to view a property, giving them all requested details - a little while later they sent an email asking which property I meant (I had told them but if they wanted to clarify: why didn't they ask this when I phoned?).

Awful

Awful. Incredibly disorganised. Would establish inspections and never turn up, would constantly email about overdue rent that wasn't overdue. Would pass the blame constantly. Attempted to raise my rent by a "reasonable" £200 a month six months into my tenancy which can only happen every 12 months and cannot be more than the CPI price index; they failed on both counts. Renting is honestly awful, and these clowns pray upon the anxiety of insecurity to get what they want.I have bought a house now, I wish all renters the luck to buy their own homes one day so we never have to deal with letting agents like these ever again.

Another great experience with Hunters Knowle. We have now let two properties from this branch and im happy to say its worked out fantastically both times! Leanne especially has worked hard for us to help us achieve the family home we desperately needed as we just didn't have enough space previously. We would always recommend Hunters Knowle and although we hope we wont be needing another letting agent any time soon - we wouldn't hesitate in going back to them. Thank you Leanne!

We purchased a property and the process was managed throughout by Jack at Hunters in Knowle. I have to say, Jack was an absolute pleasure to deal with. He was extremely efficient, professional and willing to go the extra mile to ensure things ran as smoothly as they could. We are very appreciative of all his hard work and wish him all the best for what I'm sure will be a very bright future ahead.PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

Gutted

I was really impressed with the valuer's sales pitch and genuinely believed they would be the best firm to sell my home. The fact they had a relationship with Ryan property law also played a part, although that turned out to be a disaster, but that's a review for another day.

Sales progression team lied and not very professional.

We are in the process of buying a bungalow at the moment and the sales progression team told us the vendor had been to sort the electrics and service the boiler..previous tennants had apparently got in debt so electric was cut off..Hunters lied saying this would be sorted. A second viewing 2 weeks later and a wasted 120 mile journey confirmed nothing had been sorted. When we told them we were disappointed with them we were told to leave the property.

I would completely recommend avoiding…

I would completely recommend avoiding this agency, they are slow to respond, have no information ready at hand and this has possibly been the most annoying process of purchasing a property with them. There was a lot of missing information that I was not provided and they basically only know how to respond when they need something. You will call them and they say they'll get back to you and just disappear. Avoid if possible.

Damaged our house, and we're not even their clients!

Hunters hung a "for sale" sign on our property, which was a surprise to us, since we were neither selling nor letting the property. When asked to take it down, four visible holes have been left in the wall of our home. It has been six and a half weeks, and the holes are still there. In a couple of weeks, we're going to need to escalate this to the ombudsman.

As an overseas investor, I 've found the team work of Hunters Estate & Letting Agents Knowle is great, particularly dedicated to Jo and Leanne. They are both responsive, helpful and professionally manage the whole procedures of the letting services. Even after the tenant has moved in, they do the follow-up work wonderfully. Appreciated very much.

Agent Harj was full of fake promises

Agent Harj was full of fake promises. Although he was all smiles and seemed friendly, the minute we left after our viewing he didn’t return texts or calls and shyed away from any contact. After several calls to the agents I finally managed to find out myself that the property had been given to someone else, rather than them calling me to inform me I had to dig this information out of them which was frustrating. Avoid!

Bad communication

I have been trying to contact them for 4 months in regards to my flat and contract but they are absolutely appalling at responses and making things clear and helpful for those they are letting to. They have sent me in so many different directions on who to contact and have stopped responding to me within one week of me first contacting them. On top of this it took them weeks to respond and report to maintenance issues, and when they did the response I got was rude and abrupt. As well as that they issues weren't resolved fully resulting in me feeling uneasy in what was meant to be my own space. Absolutely awful service and wouldn't even consider letting/renting from them again.

Pathetic estate agency

Pathetic estate agency! The guy who is showing properties mixing up addresses and you end up viewing a different one. If you make an offer they show a very keen interest in person then no-one ever comes back to you. The property owners will never get to find out who made offers and they may just losing out on perfectly good tenants…!They do not even talk to each other within the office to relay interest. You get a bunch of promise, but that is all!Laura is useless!

I have been a tenant of Hunters Knowle for nearly 2 years and have always looked been very professional and they have been very responsive if I have any issues in regard to maintenance. I have been very impressed and full well whole heartedly agree that this is how a estate agency should treat their client. Absolutely amazing got me as a client for life. Been treated very poorly by estate agent. The propery that I have rented in the Solihull/Sheldon area is full of damp and mould it is that serious that it has made my health very bad and that of my partner who stays a few times who is currently pregnant. I have reported all the faults with the property and they asked my partner who is pregnant to clean the mould off the wall. Not only has this property affected our health it has completely recked all our belongings including brand new items brought for my child. I have a lot of photo evidence of this. Other faults have included the property fuse box started burning and a damp patch outside bathroom along with mould in the freezer that is completly unuseable and fridge door that is completely broke off and £160 of food wasted. There is a massive gap under the door big enough for a child to get hand in and no heating in both bedrooms. I mentioned how it has affected my health to the property agent and the reply was the sooner you move the sooner you will feel better, I requested a property move after the place nearly caught fire and they said they would not move me and I can leave and pay the rent. I was served a section 21 and blamed for damages that were not checked by the agents then when checked said I had not caused them then made other accusations. I have been bullied and treated disgustingly but in there minds they don't see anything wrong and make excuses and are constantly sticking up for landlord. I am not the only person who has been treated poorly by the agent. I cannot contact the agent without the feeling I am going to get a nasty reply or be talked down to. I have contacted head office but again they fully stick up for the agent and landlord. Customer service is beyond appualing. Happy to take money, not happy to help at all when you have problems. Avoid at all costs. As an update on previous review, the structure of the property has a lot of holes in the walls of the exterior of the porperty which is contributing to the damp and mould as is the cause of wrecking all of my property and my unborn childs. I have been harrassed by the estate agent they demanded access to the property and have sent more accusations. Do not report any problems as you will get your section 21 and be asked to repair for costs you haven't made without assessing the situation. The council have forced the agent to make repairs to the property although I have complained again and again. The whole process has been a joke to them and they will make you feel that you have no tentant rights at all. Save your money and find a better agent who will actually look after you as a tenant as this property has cost me a fortune in rent and now personal property for items that are also irreplaceable. Also made to live in the freezing cold because there is not adequate heating within the property.

Having noticed our 'dream home' pop onto the market the day after Boxing Day 2018, we needed to move FAST to stand any chance of getting ours sold and to allow us to be in a proceed able position to pursue the house we had our sights on. After a meeting with Lisa, she went above and beyond to help to advise us and got us up and on the market within a mere few days, and bookings for viewings were secured by Ellie within 24 hours of the house going live! Ellie was a delight, always keeping me informed of progress and working to manage viewings to suit our busy diaries. Within a week of going on the market, we'd received several offers, one of which was significantly over the asking price! Once we had a sale STC, we were quick to view the home we loved a second time, and although there was a lot of interest, the whole team were great and really helped to minimise any anxiety as the offers process unfolded. Luckily, our offer was successful! Now, the reigns were handed over to Amelia to progress the sale and purchase and she was simply amazing! Totally 'on it' ahead of the game and super proactive. From our first exploratory meeting with Lisa, to the day we received the keys to our new 'forever' home, the whole Team were an absolute pleasure to deal with. What could have been an enormously stressful event (especially as we were going on holiday 3 days after the moving date with two very young children!) it couldn't have run any more smoothly and I absolutely believe that this was down to the team at Hunters. Hunters may have suffered some reputational damage over the last couple of years due to legacy staff, but from my experience Lisa is excelling at leading a really strong team to rebuild Hunters as the go to premium agency that it once was. Thank you so much Team - it was a pleasure to work with you.

Our first experience of Hunters was when we bought our property, which was marketed through them in 2013. We found them to be honest, professional and very accommodating throughout the process and really helped push things along with solicitors etc. to get the sale through. Our experience was so positive that we approached them again when we decided to sell the property six years later. We first worked with Lydia and Abbie, who were incredibly proactive, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. They gave us great advice which helped to find a buyer for the property. From that point on, we were in contact with Amelia, who helped us to progress the sale. Amelia was fantastic - she went above and beyond to help us get the sale over the line. She was very proactive, and always picked up the phone or got back to us straight away. We had problems with our own solicitors, and Amelia did everything she could to help. Without Amelia, and everyone at Hunters, I honestly don't know how we would have managed to sell our property! I would not hesitate to recommend Hunters. They were instrumental in us managing to sell our property and were an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish.
