GoogleI can't recommend Samual Wood highly enough. This is the second time they have sold a property for me. They always give 100% . I have dealt mostly with Sue, she goes above and beyond. She is a real asset to the company.

I rented from them for around 3 years, all pretty standard stuff but when it came to repairs & maintenance they were very slow at getting stuff done and always opted for the cheap/bodge job option wherever possible. I constantly had to chase things up with several emails & calls each time. I reported issues with damp several times and in the end had to just put up with it as no action was being taken. It took 4 weeks & endless calls to get my deposit back and even then it had a large chunk deducted for 'cleaning & garden maintenance' costs despite regular inspections & me having picture evidence of me leaving the property in better condition than when i moved in. I have a feeling this was the landlord pulling a fast one but even so, the estate agent should not allow it. They made it clear to me that any appeal against that would take around 3 months so i didnt bother & was happy when i no longer had to deal with them.

Yvonne found a buyer within a week and Sue made sure everything went smoothly,updating us on it's progress every week. The lady Lilly with the rental department was probably the worst person to try and get any sort of information from, 2 weeks ago I was apparently accepted for a property for then a few days later telling me I wasn’t, trying to have a normal conversation on the phone is next to impossible as it sounds like the woman is always half asleep, Samuel wood as a company is probably really good but the experience I’ve had with the rental side of it was just terrible, with this situation I was almost left homeless terrible person should not be in that kind of work atall…
Hi there I am sorry to read your review and I am sure you are disappointed that you were not successful in your application to rent a property. From our records I can see that there was a lot of interest in the property you applied for, and I confirm that submitting an application does not imply you are accepted for the property. The notes show that you were reluctant to provide all the details required, which might have allowed the Landlord to consider you, and so the tenancy was not offered to you. GoogleMy copy from Samuel-Wood website questionnaire:All the staff at Samuel-Wood have been nothing but polite, professional, thoughtful and supportive throughout. I would definitely recommend their services. The reason for five star’s throughout was in answer to the direct questions asked in the questionnaire and the reason for 4 star’s overall, was because of the question not asked, ´Value for Money’. Personally, I feel Estate Agents in general charge too much for the services delivered, however I gave 4 star’s to Samuel-Wood as they were prepared to negotiate the costs. I highly recommend them!

GoogleSamuel Wood (SW) followed up 4 months’ after initially not being selected as sole agent to see how we were progressing with our sale. At that point we were not! Impressed with SW’s initiative we promptly engaged them as a joint agent. Within 1 week we had an offer! From accepting the offer to completion it took just 25 days! An incredible and unusual record by any standard and testament to SW’s tenacity, support, efficiency and professionalism at each stage. We are naturally thrilled with the result and enjoyed working with SW to sell our cottage.

They went above and beyond to keep all situations calm, and gave excellent advice. I don't think we would have got through it without them!
