Competitive pricing and an obvious understanding of the local area and property market and the staff team were always helpful and friendly. I was kept informed about viewings and offers via the app and via phone which was great as I was not in Sheffield at the time of sale. Any questions and queries were answered quickly and overall I was happy with the service. A few things prevented my experience being 5 star were (1) the posting of the advert onto Rightmove with spelling errors and incorrect information (2) Setting the advert live without my final proofing which I had specially requested (3) charging me the incorrect amount when it came to complete with the buyer. All three of these were however dealt with quickly by the team.PositiveResponsiveness, Value

Very poor experience as both a buyer and seller. First of all we listed our property with Whitehornes and had virtually no interest over a period of 4-5 months (admittedly part of this was due to lockdown) but even the time prior to the lockdowns we had little interest. We had zero communication from Whitehornes during this time- no touching base, or generating ideas to increase interest. Whenever we did contact Whitehornes it would generally take a while to get a response. The final straw was our sign blew down, I reported this and was told somebody would be out the next day- and 2 weeks later we were still waiting- no sense of urgency whatsoever. We changed agents to Key2go and immediately had more viewings in the first week then the whole time with Whitehornes and sold pretty quickly. They were far more responsive and interactive with us from the off. As a buyer it was just as bad, we initially had an offer accepted (prior to our house being sold) on one of their properties. Due to the holdup the seller placed the house on the market- despite us checking to see if they were happy waiting and being reassured there was no rush. When we did sell our house we discovered the same property was going to best and final offer the next day, we placed an offer and was told we would be informed in the next 48 hours. We waited a week and heard nothing, so rang up. We were told they were still deliberating. 3 weeks later we had the same answer. I asked if we would be informed of the decision either way and was reassured yes we would, the seller was just not in a rush (sound familiar?). During this time we decided to keep looking and asked for a viewing on another Whitehornes property and were told they would call us back (and of course we were never called back- which kind of makes sense why we had so little interest in our property if they weren't getting back to potential viewers). We never heard back regarding the best and final offer property, and I later found that the sale had been agreed within a week or so- which was not surprising. Highly unresponsive and unprofessional. Would stay well clear.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

Whitehorns were excellent. Their valuation was good. The photos of our house brilliant. The negotiating staff professional, understanding and efficient. We were always kept informed throughout the process and all parties constantly updated. Have already recommended to several friends who have been extremely happy with their service.

Just sold a house through Whitehornes. All staff I interacted with were polite and personable and all calls and emails to the office were answered promptly. Property was presented nicely and sold for well over the asking price. Thanks team!

5* review for a seamless service from Whitehornes in selling our late Mother's home - Efficient responses from first point of contact with Andy Robinson to value and subsequently market the house . Clear communication throughout the process from Caroline Duke who was an outstanding negotiator . Nothing was ever too much to ask and all queries followed up in a timely manner . Personable , professional and efficient team of specialists who I would highly recommend to anyone considering a house sale in Sheffield 11 .

As first-time buyers, my partner and I found Whitehornes to be incredibly helpful and supportive throughout the entire process of purchasing our home. Caroline, in particular, was fantastic, she made everything as smooth and stress-free as possible. We’re so grateful for her guidance and kindness along the way.

Bought a house through these guys last summer and the whole experience still haunts me. They seemed unaware it was being illegally let out as a HMO and on completion day we didn't even receive a single full set of keys. Whitehornes were most uninterested in being of any assistance once the money had been handed over. The manager even pointed out that she hadn't even visited the house, so how was she meant to know which keys were required. I would avoid them where at all possible.

Agent replied · 19 June 2024

We appreciate your feedback Karen. This does not reflect our usual 5* service and will look into the points you have highlighted. It's very tricky when a property is being used as an illegal HMO and we have no knowledge of this from the vendor, so apologies for this. We will certainly use your feedback as part of our ongoing staff training. Best regards

Wouldn't Recommend These At All. Had The WORST Experience With Them. Won't Even Refund Us After Almost 3 Months Of Asking For It Back, Constantly Being Lied To, This Will End Up Going To Court. Don't Waste Your Time With These!

They wouldn’t consider doing a video appointment as I was living 3 hours away, and were adamant for an in person inspection. They neglected to give any overview of the property over the phone. I took time off from work and the place was a total letdown. The pictures on the ad were not honest and very misleading. A complete waste of my time. Avoid this agency.

We chose Whitehornes due to the zero upfront fee and very reasonable percentage of sale cost. They explained things clearly every step of the way. We were allocated a brilliant Estate Agent, Caroline D, when dealing with our sale.

We have been trying to book a second viewing for a property for nearly a month now. My partner was booked in and traveled in his lunch break to see this apartment and no one turned up. When I called to see where they were I was told they didn’t have access to the apartment, yet no one let us or another lady that was viewing it know. They never seem to be able to fit us in when we both work 9-5 even though we have made it clear we are very interested in purchasing. I wouldn’t recommend selling with Whitehornes as I don’t think they seem to care about making a sale.

I recently sold a house with Whitehornes and found them to be very efficient and helpful. The property was valued by Andy Robinson who was professional and friendly and gave us advice on marketing the property. The house sold quickly and was then managed by Kerry Sanderson who was excellent. She kept us informed at all stages and despite a few problems with the sale she was very helpful and always available to advise. I would definitely recommend Whitehornes and would use them again.

When I was seeking to buy a house in Sheffield just under a year ago, Whitehornes was one of the Estate Agents I consulted (and I viewed a couple of their properties) and I really hoped I would buy my house through them. because I found them so efficient, helpful and friendly. In the end I bought through another estate agent, but that experience made me decide that when the house was ready to be rented out I would use Whitehornes as my renting agency. I made the right decision! They have been very patient as the building works I was doing took much longer than expected, have always answered my queries really quickly and kept me well informed. I am delighted that my lovely house is in their hands.
