GoogleIf you are a tenant, steer clear from this agent. They are from, start to finish, about milking every last penny out of tenants. Throughout my time renting a property through them, they tried to find every possible way to extort money from me. It was extremely stressful and upsetting, and they managed to ruin two Christmas periods for me with their shenanigans. If you must rent through them get all agreements and communications in writing and take comprehensive photographs of the property upon moving in and moving out. Check your rights when they attempt to charge you for things as they will try and make you liable for things that are legally the landlords responsibility. And if you are a landlord, I implore you to use a different agents if you have any care and consideration for your tenants and view renters as human beings rather than just a resource to be exploited.

GoogleTotal time waster, Don’t return calls, Simple questions unanswered as always someone else dealing with it, I was suppose to view a commercial property and had scheduled a viewing around 3 weeks from end of previous tenants lease but the diary missed the call back then supposedly they didn’t get back to me as the landlord had introduced them to a family friend who was going to take the unit anyway Common courtesy would of been a call to say this even though the unit was on Rightmove at the time of my chase up call. Would not deal with these if they were last agents in Darlington.

GoogleHad a commercial let agreed with Sillars. As I hesitated at paying £350 plus VAT fee for a credit check(!?), they just agreed to let it to someone else. This is not normal practice. I should know. The main point however is their failure to disclose - in an obvious manner, their fees on their website. This is actually ILLEGAL. I wish I could find out if the landlord knows about this profit generating practice at his expense. Oh and surprise surprise - these guys are not members of the estate agents' association.We need a regulator!

GoogleBeen with them 8 months, ended up with 13 visits so far, for different reasons. Took 7months to fix lights, Todays saga, our kitchen cupboards have fallen down, theyve sent someone to remove the cupboards but arent sending anyone to replace them until next tuesday, because they have a single contracter. They hang up on you, talk down to you and act like theyre doing you a favour letting you live there, despite the fact that you're paying £600+ rent per month. They are without a shadow of a doubt the worst estate agents ive ever been with. Additionally- in one of the previous responses to reviews, they said they always provide an inventory, we never got one,so i would query this.

GoogleStill waiting for deposit from this terrible firm ,am into another months wait for money towards a flat that was trashed by a tenant and I Should get the deposit to assist in repairs but not from this letting ? Agent who have no idea what properties they are managing who denied even letting it ! and have been terrible from day one ! Have reported them and sought advise as to where we go from here ! Will keep you all informed Latest DPS say that they will only deal with Martin's regards our getting the deposit back for a trashed flat which we should legally receive towards Martin's failure to look after our flat .Martin's say they that they will not deal with us as we were rude when they stated they didn't look after our flat ,even though they were wrong and rude ! So we have had taken from us £500 towards over a thousands pounds of damage even though this is illegal ! I will continue to keep you informed as this case progresses .thanks all
