Great service from a Buyers perspective

We have just bought a house that was sold through Intercounty. They have been professional, punctual and personable throughout the whole process. We needed to visit the house on 3 occassions at short notice to survey, measure for carpets and get a quote with a plumber, and it was never a problem gaining access (special thanks to Olivia). It was also helpful to have Doug Whybrow as our liason between the sellers solicitor and our solicitor. He was fantastic at keeping us informed of progress and helping out with any queries.

Chloe Haken and Luke Harrison at Braintree had to work very hard in the final days of securing the tenants for our property through no fault of their own AND neither was it ours or the tenants!! The referencing agency, sadly I do not have their name yet, fell woefully short of what it says on the tin, REFERENCING. They failed to pursue the stumbling block as ferociously as these two employees had to and dealing with the payroll department of a High Street frozen food company who only deign to answer their phones for two hours a day has to be experienced to be believed! Such incompetence and indifference. Chloe had been on hold for nearly half an hour to this company when we arrived in the office and finally she got through and explained very clearly what was required and we needed it now not next week. She got it. These two have more patience than I have and now our tenants are moving in after a delay of many days. Thank you Chloe and Luke.

Intercounty have been fantastic from the beginning right through to the day we sold our house. The promotion of our house and the specification of the sales brochure was excellently thought out and attractive to new buyers.Andy was always available when we needed him and everyone at south Woodham branch were friendly and approachable.They have always been quick to chase up other buyers and solicitors within the chain to ensure that all sales and purchases run smoothly.If we ever sold again we would definitely use Intercounty.

Helen Mehmet did a good job

Helen Mehmet graciously drove me from property to property in winter 2018/19, listened to our requirements, saw how much we had brought from South Africa, and then searched for something that could meet our needs. I think she did a good job of showing me a range of sizes and locations so that I could understand where our property fits into the housing stock on the market.She was always friendly and professional and came up with two properties that were potentially suitable. There is probably a bigger property out there but we settled on a house built in 1956. Being old it needs some work but it is ours: no more paying rent (and therefore paying off the landlord's mortgage!). We have parking, a garage and a room we have dedicated to laundry: drying, ironing, folding all in one place. Fantastic!Buying a house in the UK was onerous: we discovered it is a very expensive process, complicated, confusing and stressful. In that regard our solicitor from Premier Property really looked after our interests and advised us.

After deciding to rent my flat I saw 3 agents from different companies.I was most impressed with Dan from the initial meeting, he was very thorough, had excellent knowledge of the rental market and great advice for a new landlord.He worked with me to my timeframe and after advertising the flat to rent it was taken 4 days later!I wasn’t aware there was so much to sort out when renting a property, however I can say that working with Dan has made the process as easy as possible for me. Nothing was too much trouble, whether it was a query I had via email or telephone, and always responded the same day. Professional and extremely helpful Letting Agent

We have been renting our property through Intercounty for two years and as long term tenants we are extremely happy and satisfied with the excellent service we have received through the Bishops Stortford office. Intercounty helped me find my first home! Everyone always answered my phone calls and even texted me when convenient when I was a work and couldn’t answer the phone. And questions I had big or small there was always someone there, right from how to pay my bills to setting up insurance for my contents and my self! We have been extremely impressed with Intercounty Bishop’s Stortford, from start to finish. From the first class customer service we received from Meg (when we first walked in last year). This was then followed by excellent service from Helen Mehmet, who worked tirelessly on our behalf by securing our sale and purchase (to which we’re both extremely grateful to her for). We then dealt with Doug Whybrow thereafter, who has been very efficient and professional throughout this process. We are now due to complete on Tuesday. We highly recommend this Estate Agent. They have certainly put any scepticism, that we have had due to past experiences, finally to bed.

I would definitely recommend the Bishops Stortford office, the whole team were very helpful & professional with what was a complicated sale. Doug Whybrow was extremely helpful & approachable and it was very reassuring to know that he was always available to help me out with any issues that arose. A big thank you to Doug. I also used the services of the lettings department who were all very friendly & helpful. Excellent Service!

We invited a few estate agents to provide us with a valuation, and also considered selling via one of the new online estate agents. We decided to go with Intercounty even though even though they weren't the cheapest option. What a great decision! The whole team listened to our story and concerns and ideas. Very impressed

The team in Braintree exceeded our expectations ; polite, informative and efficient. In particular the assistance, guidance and support from Nic was beyond any expectation. The age and nature of our property presented some challenges and over some time other agents had tried and failed. Intercounty managed to do what others did not and the change in the quality of viewer, once we switched to Intercounty was quickly apparent, we soon moved to a sale. Proceeding to completion on a listed building however of this age was never going to be an easy process and this turned out to be the case. This is where Intercounty really excelled. Mediating between us and our buyer, providing solutions to awkward problems; providing tradesmen where we could not and through this saving us saving. This is the reason why I would not hesitate to recommend Nic and the Braintree team to anyone.

Purchased despite Intercounty, not because of them

We have had a mixed experience that got progressively worse as exchange in contracts approached. We twice arrived at the point where my wife and I agreed to pull out of the purchase due to questionable levels of service, rescued at the last minute by progress. Despite the purchase being agreed, there was an overly aggressive air in the way some communications were handled, as if to try and close a deal that was already closing. This was probably not helped by the Vendor, but your job as agents is to broker between two parties, a job I feel was not handled very well at all. Indeed your involvement at times only served to confuse and delay. There was also a poor attempt at creating urgency in responses when responses were actually owed by yourselves. You were called on this and back-tracked over a period of 24 hours. I would be happy to discuss further either face to face or on the phone, but don't do not have the time to write in the required depth.

We used Intercounty recently to sell our property and had previously been on the market with another agent for 5 weeks and only had 2 viewings during that period. We changed to Intercounty and the viewings increased significantly and the potential buyers were all qualified beforehand and in a good position to proceed. Within 2 weeks we had an offer which we accepted and subsequently completed.I was very happy with Intercounty and Andrew Kershaw and his team kept us regularly updated throughout the process and so I would certainly recommend their service.
