Previous tenants of Michael Jones rented property, we left our property on 5th January and were expecting a response to our deposit return on the 19th January. 3 emails later we have received not even an acknowledgement of our emails or an update on our deposit return. We have raised a dispute with the TDS as a result. The lack of communication and clear lack of care of their tenants is evident. During our tenancy we also raised a number of issues which went without answer for weeks. When the landlord required our help we were expected to drop everything we could to assist

Dear James, we are sorry to read that you were disappointed with your experience as a tenant with us. We take all our reviews seriously and have looked into what has happened in the situation that you outline below. We deal with all deposit negotiations via the portal “The Depositary” which gives periodic email updates to the tenants. Having investigated your situation further it seems your emails that you sent had been going to the support team at “The Depositary” rather than us, meaning we did not get your emails, hence why there was no response. Due to the nature of the deductions being proposed it took a little longer than usual to source a quote for a suitable replacement, however the deductions from the deposit have now been agreed upon without the need for adjudication and the matter has been resolved. We appreciate deposit negotiations can be frustrating for tenants but we can see that this has all been dealt with in the proper manner and it’s unfortunate that we did not receive the emails from you at the time. I have been a tenant with Michael Jones for 4+ years now. I’d strongly suggest finding a different estate agent. Prior to the pandemic they were a pleasure to let with. They had a polite and understanding team. Since then I have spent 8 weeks without a boiler , had inspections I haven’t been made aware of prior and confronted by a young man in a nightclub about a complaint I made officially through their company procedure which I might add is supposed to be protected. Disgustingly bad service. Such a shame.

During the past five months, Michael Jones has successfully acted on my behalf for the purchase of one property and the sale of another.Realistic purchase and selling prices were agreed in a straightforward manner, a suitable buyer found very quickly and subsequent exchanges with this company were equally positive.The sale proved to be rather protracted and I must particularly express my gratitude to Richard Heppenstall for his determination and professionalism during this challenging period.
