TrustpilotRecently purchased at the green quarter…
Recently purchased at the green quarter and the Berkeley home buying experience was exceptional from start to finish. Especially the customer relations team who did a great job given difficultys with covid and delays keeping proactively me informed. Flat has practically no snagging issues and the small issues or nitpicks where sorted immediately or next day. Only reason it's not 5 starts is the partnership with firtport they really need to find a better management agency partnership on the flats vs default as there issues reflect poorly on the Berkeley brand even if they are separate companies. Makes me hesitate recommend anyone buying a property if first port are managing agents.

TrustpilotPoor quality of brand new buildings
As it's been already said, it looks great on the outside but I'm afraid the property's quality is really poor. I have been living in a flat built by Berkeley in North London since 2019 and have been facing many issues along the way. Here are some of them: 1. garage flooding due to light rain 2. falty entrance door lock 3. popping noisy floor 4. leaky wall paint over the kitchen sink 5. leaky paint on cabinets right under the kitchen sink 5. wall dampness and mold (reported by neighbour) 6. intercom and IP guard (reported by neighbour) 8. lack of hot water (and hence heating) multiple times.

TrustpilotLooks great on the outside but cut corners on quality
New development of houses, looks great from the outside. However, we felt that Berkley have compromised on quality of the work and have cut corners to save money their end, very thin walls in the house with no sound proofing. Still ongoing snagging issues; no drainage in the garden resulting in a boggy marsh and awful roofing with rubble falling into the inner membrane. Slow at responding to these areas of concern with no plan from there side yet of how they will address these problems.

TrustpilotWoolwich Arsenal
Living in a property South of London, Woolwich Arsenal. Just after approximately 6 years of property being built the outer facade had to be repaired due to poorly built balconies. A brick from the 13th floor has fallen to the ground. Imagine if someone was walking past and it hit them... fortunately, no one was injured. Anyways, the solution was made to fix an extra layer of cladding covering the balconies to prevent further accidents. It took them around three months to fix the panels on the brickwork, despite it being rather slow for work done, they (or the contractors) left a huge mess afterwards. They have failed to properly clean the balconies and the outer windows were left dirty with grime and dirt from construction and scaffolding. Before buying think twice. What kind of quality building this is if the bricks starting to fall?

TrustpilotFantastic Customer Service Team in Berkeley
Both Sales Management team and post-completion Customer Service team did a fantastic job to inform the progress of my house development and handle snagging items effectively. Even though there had quality issues to be fixed after completion, the Customer Service team pay a keen role to bring up my confident level to recommend Berkeley as a good choice of developer.

TrustpilotBerkeley took everything from me.
2 years ago I lost all my possessions to fire. Every keepsake from my past, every photo of relatives who had passed away (including my parents), every toy my young children had ever owned, everything that could ever remind me of my past. All due to what was found by the London Fire brigade to be numerous missing and faulty parts of the fire safety systems. To this day Berkeley are fighting tooth and nail to not accept liability for what the London fire brigade and an independent report conducted shortly after, have both said was their fault. We live with the wreckage that their shoddy workmanship created. Think hard about whether you’d like to risk doing the same.

TrustpilotI was a resident of Richmond House
I was a resident of Richmond House, Worcester Park, that burned down in 2019. The fire that started in one end of this Berkeley group built block of flats spread to the other end in about 15 minutes. An independent report confirmed that a lack of cavity barriers was the main reason for such a rapid spread of the fire. However, after more than 2 years of discussions, Berkeley group lawyers deny any responsibility on the part of their client. Such audacity to deny any responsibility. So be careful with this builder.

TrustpilotDO NOT BUY FROM BERKELEY
DO NOT BUY from Berkeley homes, me and my family had to stand at 1:30 in the morning watching our first family home and everything we ever owned burn to the ground, we lost our twin daughters first clothes, first pictures, keep sakes, memories, sentimental items that will never be replaced, all because Berkeley built our block of flats with no fire stop and no cavity barriers to stop the fire spreading, Berkeley do not care about their customers they build quick and in masses and sell for a maximum profit and as soon as anything bad happens they deny any liability and leave you in the mud, there is clear evidence that our property was not built correctly and that Berkeley are at fault but yet 2 years on we are stuck homeless and Berkeley continue to deny they are in the wrong, we are not the first case from Berkeley being incompetent to build correctly and we certainly will not be the last, please do not put your families through the trauma we have been and continue to go through

TrustpilotHigh quality residences.
High quality construction; different size blocks are very attractive; site beautifully laid out (trees, gardens, lawns, open spaces, main entrance); provision of all kitchen appliances most welcome; basement parking served by lifts is excellent. Visitor parking, unfortunately, is substandard (lacks flexibility, sensitivity, realism).

TrustpilotI have bought a number of properties…
I have bought a number of properties during my life and I can unreservedly say that our journey so far with Berkeley Homes has been enjoyable. The quality of our home is “top drawer” and the customer service is exceptional. We were guided and kept informed every step of the way, it would be unfair to single out an individual as all delivered service in a professional yet personable demeanour. A commendable recruitment and training program is evident.

TrustpilotBuyers be aware of flexing floor - South Quay Plaza
The floor in South Quays Plaza, one of the landmark development of Berkeley, is flexing. Yet their customer service insists it is acceptable. (I will create an instagram account on it and paste the link here for potential buyers or any buyers who are planning to buy off-plan from Berkeley to consider what is Berkeley standard)I do not want anyone to experience what I am experiencing. I can assure you Berkeley can be extremely irresponsible to sell you a bouncy floor (or any other thing that you would not believe it would go wrong i.e. could be your ceiling who knows) without you knowing in the first place. Secondly, not only their flat, the promise from their customer service is underdelivered too. Senior Customer Service Manager attended my flat two months ago to give me high hope saying they would have it fixed. However, it was serious enough for them to pay multi visits but not enough for them to be willing to do anything about it without a solid explanation. Plays their customer like a fool.

I had an issue with my shower only giving extremely hot water and no cold. I notified the concierge and was contacted promptly by KyrieshaHiscocks. She immediately apologized for the problem and sent a very competent Plummer (Loris) to fix it. What can I say-JOB DONE! I was very impressed with the efficiency, courtesy and professionalism of this response. Exceeded expectations!!

TrustpilotNot willing to help at all
I’ve been in contact several times to obtain some documents. I’ve been told “no you should call this number instead”, and given a new number. I’ve called three different numbers, and ended up on the first again. I’ve then been given three different email addresses where I’ve been told I would receive help, but I just get an auto reply back, with the standard “we’ll get back at you as soon as possible” line. I’ve even called several times and been promised that someone would call me back, but no one ever does! Even reached out on Twitter, but after establishing contact and explained what my issue was, it went complete silent! It has been several months, and a lot is at stake, but still nothing! I’ve never in my entire life experienced such bad/lack of customer service.

Trustpilotthe worst customer care in the business..
We had 5e best experience with the sales team when purchasing our first home, but since moving in and dealing with the customer managers it has been failing after failing. We have been here almost two years and still have issues outstanding that were reported months ago. Having raised a complaint with a Manager who advised things would be sorted, two weeks on and I am still chasing. Total lack of communication and customer care here. Looking to escalate further as the repairs we are waiting for are causing significant damage to our garden, which obviously Berkeley are taking no responsibility for...

I was asleep in bed in the flat I bought from Berkeley when the fire started. 20minutes later it was gone and I was outside in my dressing gown with my 4 and 6 year old in their pyjamas. The fire brigade's report said it was due to missing fire stops. Berkeley still have not admitted liability.Do not buy anything from these cowboys. Not unless you want to risk losing everything or be stuck with a flat you can't sell.

TrustpilotThe Berkeley Group.
The Berkeley Group have been great throughout the process of buying our new house. The sales team of Adam and Harry are a real credit to company, they have been superb. The house that we bought has lots of quality fittings that you wouldn’t find elsewhere. If I could find fault, it would be having to pay an extortionate amount to have the patio extended whilst they were already laying the standard one.And not installing a washing machine and tumble dryer in the price. But aside from these two gripes, they have been great.

TrustpilotA developer who takes care of you during the whole process
I'm extremely pleased with the whole process of purchasing SQP from Berkeley. I was well informed with the progress of the development. The customer service was well staffed and they would get things sorted quickly. They are accommodating and we are well look after. I remembered the eye opening experience when we were invited to see the 'underground community' at the basement of the building site. I felt like I am taking part in the development myself!Needless to say, the location, the design, the facilities and concierge service are top of the class. Thank you!

Had a very good survey with the Trustpilot. The survey included most of the relevant areas, collected feedback, suggestions and improvements. I am very happy with the Berkeley Homes, in particular the Sales team, Laura the sales manager who helped us a lot before handed over to the post sales team. After the completion, Lee the development director, assisted us on various post completion issues. If the score can be from 1 to 10, instead of 1 to 5, it would give more fine-grained reviews.

TrustpilotSad and disappointed experience
I and my family are living in a development built by Berkeley Homes and they are our freeholder. We found that there has been serious security problem, ie the management agent allowing outsiders entering our property and even people taking drugs in our development. Cleaners are not cleaning the rubbish. Some concierge staff shout to polite and timid residents, whereas they are oblivious to those whose behaviour are anti-social. They allow strangers to come in our development, randomly dropping boxes in front of our homes, when the real owners lose their delivery items, the concierge accuse the residents as thieves. No regard to hygiene especially during now during the Covid-19 pandemic. The management team so-called spell out some rules but they are the rule breakers rather than keepers. They even allow someone sleeping at the entrance of the development. We complain to Berkeley Homes but they turn a blind eyes and even say that: “I am satisfied with the management team”. Hugely regret and disappointed. I share this pain here is because for those of you who consider buying or renting or living in their development, think before you act. Everything I say here are very truly skin of the game.

TrustpilotGreat expectations
As a first buyer you never really know what to expect from a development. I did not expect the welcome phone call just before completion, I did not expect the lavish welcome gifts that I received when I collected the keys; nor did I expect phone calls from the head of customer services making sure if I had settled in okay. At the development I am in, there seems to be a real sense of community and care, not just towards the residents but for the wider environment. I feel that I’ve totally lucked out with my apartment & development and I know that I’ll enjoy continuing to live there.

TrustpilotAVOID AT ALL COSTS
I live in a 15 year old leasehold flat in a Berkeley Homes "flagship development". Build quality is ok on the inside but Berkeley Homes decided to cut costs on the exterior walls, using a cheap expanded polystyrene foam external wall system which is a major fire risk. They have offered no help what so ever to fix their defect and left us to pick up the pieces and pay the bill. This was not "Designed for Life" as their slogan might suggest. Still... I guess i'm one of the "luckier" ones, take a look at Richmond House or Chelsea Bridge Wharf developments before you buy. In summary, worst decision of my life AVOID AT ALL COSTS

TrustpilotThe most dreadful developers on this…
The most dreadful developers on this planet with absolutely zero consideration for existing neighbours while they destroy their health and damage their homes while putting up their fish bowl glass apartments!Do not buy one of their homes unless the entire construction site is complete as living adjacent is a real nightmare and has continued for 5 years or more! Absolutely no consideration for local residents..Too many lies and distortion ....it is all about the cash!!!
