We moved into our brand new flat （Grand union) near Wembley in October, but within two months there were so many defects in our flat. The floor heating does not work from the time of check-in. The property has sent workers to repair it five times to make it work. The light in the closet is broken, some of the outlets in the bedroom are broken, and unexpectedly the handle on the front door broke within a month. Recently, when we taking a bath, the hot water will suddenly become cold. Two groups of people have been sent, but it is still not fixed. I thought Berkeley was a very big real estate company, but the quality of the houses was really really BAD!!!

This company should not be sold land to EVER!!Look at the Glass door reviews - the staff are bullied, overworked, understaffed, HSE should be a regular visitor! If someone does not obey, they are fired on the spot - please don't buy their overpriced houses designed for rich overseas clients. Boycott by not buying houses and not selling them land. There are so many better builders.

Berkeley Homes have just bought up swathes of greenfield land adjoining the village I live in, and are planning to triple it in size by building 1,800 houses, wanted by no-one here. So why does their website say 'We are committed to creating a better environment within our developments and in the areas that surround them. That's why we build on brownfield sites whenever we can, bringing new life to disused and unloved spaces. We take care to protect the natural environment and enhance biodiversity'. They clearly do not care about any of these things.

Tanya helped me with the selection of materials like those for the doors and the carpets patiently. She also helped me arranged the workers for the installation of curtains and the house cleaner to collect the keys to the house. She also helped me settle the issues of applying for public utilities like water, gas and electricity. She also makes use of her off working hours to help me settle everything related to my house and answer all my questions in WhatsApp. So she gives me strong confidence of your company and the condition of my house. Thx a lot for arranging Tanya to ease my worries. Thanks a billion🙏😊

The worst company to potentially work for. The whole process took around two months- interviews, then being formally offered a position. They offered me the position (a conditional offer- proof of right to work, references, passed vetting and DBS checks) given a contract, which was signed- then handed in my notice. Was pushed to start before the Christmas period, they approved the resignation and gave me everything that I needed to do before my start date- then two weeks before I am due to start, they withdraw their offer due to ‘financial climate’ and not being able to pay my salary as I am ‘too skilled’- left me with no secure job before the Christmas period. The worst company to potentially work for, have no compassion or care- then tried to turn it all around on me saying I shouldn’t have handed in my resignation. The worst company to work for! Do not join Berkeley!!

I am completely satisfied with the overall experience I received throughout the purchase, completion and defect resolution process. It is a very delightful journey of property purchase, especially to people who move to a new place (country) like us. Special compliment to Seema (Senior Customer Relations Manager), Jemima (Customer Service Manager) and Clive (Customer Service Manager), we were so impressed by the warm welcome that we received from all three of them upon completion. Following by a thorough home demonstration by Clive, it definitely helped us to settle down nicely. Although there was a roof leakage and some minor defects in the house which brought us slight inconvenience, we were still very impressed by the prompt reactions of the customer service team, they handled our case seriously and help us to resolve the problem really fast that the leak seems never really happened. We are happy to have chosen to purchase Hartland Village as our new home in UK and are truly grateful to have Seema, Jemima, Clive and the wonderful CS team to take very good care of us. I have no doubt to recommend Berkeley Group to other family members and friends which I know. P.S. With my strong recommendation, my mum has actually purchased a house in Phase 2 of Hartland Village as well recently, she looks forward to start a wonderful journey of village life here soon.

Bought a new home with three severe problems. Uneven floors. I know there's a tolerance but I'm surprised by how an issue that a spirit level check can find out is ignored. Water leak on the first floor bathrooms. water comes in through the ground floor kitchen lights one week after move in. They refuse to replace the carpet and flooring. Sealants and grout start to fall out in kitchen and bathrooms. Slow response from them after complaint.

Our initial experience with Berkeley Homes was very positive when we bought a flat in Trent Park in March 2021. However I need to warn everybody to be very careful about believing anything listed in the sales material as being part of the package. A key feature and selling point in the material and in every conversation during the sales process was the swimming pool and at no point was it mentioned that it would not open that summer. As it turned it didnt open that summer, nor the next summer except for a few weeks from the end of August. Berkeley is refusing any compensation for mis selling with the argumentation that we didn't insist on getting this feature as a condition of contract. In my eyes this is a clear case of mis selling and I warn everyone considering a Berkeley home to get every selling feature included in the contract or you can never be sure when the various promised features will materialise. On top of this the lack of information during these 2 years have been glaring and shows the weakness in the communication from Berkeley HQ

I'm living in one of their developments as a renter and we haven't had water for almost a week because a pipe burst. Their only solution so far has been to provide a tanker of water outside to collect from and 2 (cold!) showers for 300+ people. My partner and I were considering purchasing an apartment in the development we're renting in until this happened..

Just purchased an apartment with Berkeley and overall very happy with the quality of the build, with relatively few bits of snagging required post completion. The run up to completion could have been a little better though, having raised an issue with the bathroom light not turning off properly, about 6 weeks prior to completion - however, only after completion did it get fixed. The air filter in the apartment also hadn’t been cleaned before my moving in, which for an apartment whose bedroom does not have an opening window to let fresh air in, was suffocating to say the least. Again, remedied rather quickly post completion but would have expected this to be cleaned beforehand, especially coming from such a prestigious name such as Berkeley! Overall I am happy with how Berkeley has handled the process pre and it post completion, and would highly recommend over other developers.

Sales team & After sales team have been amazing . Lots of snagging issues that are getting resolved slowly . This is not down to sales team. Some areas of our Apartment looked rushed and not completed properly . Felt Berkeley were very dismissive with some things that we asked to have and we agreed to pay for . We love our new home but feel that some of the above issues have taken the shine off of it .

I got a fine and notice of breach of lease saying my kids playing were "playing" in the communal podium garden even though we were out the whole weekend on the date of the notice. Despite numerous attempts to speak the Rendall and Ritter to try get evidence of the incident I just get ignored. This is not a community environment which Berkeley is advertising. Conciege are also been bullied by one resident who complains about everything and the kids in our complex are too scared to even go outside because of this! I am now considering moving out and getting a freehold so my kids can have a better lifestyle.

I have just bought a new build from Berkeley and on the whole the experience has been okay. I initially had some issues when I reserved the plot but this was due to one member of staff not Berkeley Group in general, but it has soured the whole experience. I was kept informed as to how the build was going throughout which was good. The build itself was rushed at the end, (as I believe they are prone to be), but as I wasn't in a major rush to get in I would have preferred a little more time and care taken on the decoration inside. On completion there was a lovely welcome pack which was a very nice touch. My snagging list is fairly extensive but most are minor decoration issues due to it being rushed at the end, but these are booked in to be sorted. So in general my experience has had ups and downs. I'm not sure I would buy another new build but if I did I would probably choose a Berkeley home again as you get a lot more as standard than a lot of their competitors.

Hired Berkely group to deal with a purchase. Before paying a deposit I asked them multiple times if the solicitors they were referring me to was accredited to Governments's help to buy (HtB) scheme, they confirmed they were. The solicitors who they referred me to maintained they were accredited and even provided me the name of the person who was accredit. After several months it turns out they were lying and that person has never even sought accreditation, which meant that I could not use them as solicitor to be eligible for a HtB purchase. This significantly slowed down my purchase.After changing solicitors, Berkely are still refusing to refund me for work they carried out/initial deposit, even though they gave me misinformation, so I'm left out of pocket. Awful client service, takes weeks to respond, no accountability. They are very cheap but you get what you pay for I guess.

PLEASE AVOID JANE GREEN & BERKELEY LAW GROUP AT ALL COSTS!This firm will take your instruction and £££ and then refer your file to a firm who will have no interest in completing your conveyancing. Jane will harass you for the payment and will even give you a call on the weekend however once payment is received she becomes unresponsive. I instructed this firm 12 weeks ago since then my file has been passed to three firms to no avail, Jane will claim she has searches and AML completed but fails to share this information with you. She will waste your time and mentally torture you with her false promises I am really not sure how this woman sleeps at night with people money and provides no service! The positive reviews they have are always in result of a negative they are all false and bogus reviews and Jane probably spends her time writing these herself. I have all the evidence available to expose this firm when I asked for the complaints policy she told me she is not a law firm but just a conveyancing sales centre. If you asked to be put through the accounts team she will fail to provide you the details. This business needs to be reported by everyone to trading standards and they need to be investigated and reported to the right bodies for repercussions. Please don’t use and avoid at all costs!!! It was my first time to purchase property in UK . I have chosen Berkerly because my agent in Hong Kong told me that the quality and the after sale service was compared better and higher than other developer companies in UK . As for the quality itself, it is not the right time to rank now since I haven’t seen my property by myself after the completion and it needs to go through the rainy seasons to test if any water seepage found in the apartment. However, two experiences were not so good . 1) why leave the washing machine not equipped with. It makes me waste much time to purchase when my tenant ask to . I am the foreign buyer and not convenient for me to purchase outside Hong Kong. 2) My tenant told me that a minor damage was found near the door entrance. He moved in 19 days after the completion and I think Berkeley should be liable to take care of this repair . Unfortunately, I only got the reply from your staff that Berkeley would not consider the repair since my letting agent hasn’t written down on my behalf in the defect list.
