Having become homeless over 12 weeks ago we were finding it impossible to find accommodation that accepted our pets. We met Isla Macauley at William H Brown & within 2 weeks this remarkable young lady found us 3 properties that accepted pets. We decided on Kelly street Goldthorpe & we got the keys today & will move in tomorrow. Isla has worked tirelessly to get us into a home before Christmas she really is a fantastic credit to W H Brown, nothing was ever too much & we couldn’t have hoped for a kinder agent in our search, thank you Isla, Andy & Andrea x

This Morning I had Ollie Aston attend my flat for an annual inspection. He was on time as agreed. He took photos for Landlord and was a very pleasant with his customer communication during the visit. I raised a few questions which I hope to hear back. I wish him the success in his employ and rate 5 star service. Overall have dealt with WHB for 6 years always been of a high standard.

Shocking service. Called initially on the Saturday to view property in Rawmarsh. By midday Monday got a call back to arrange a viewing., even though I’d spoken to someone earlier in the day. Various phone contacts and it was only the 3rd call that I was told it was a timber frame building….. Viewing arranged for Thursday at 4pm and got reminder day before. Went to view property and no agent there to show us around. When I called to see where the agent was I was told they’d gone to the wrong property! Apparently they had gone to an address in Greasborough and it would take half an hour to reach us (usually 10 minute drive) - needless to say lost interest dealing with unprofessional agents. What made it worse it that my sibling finished work early to make the appointment. BEWARE

I would not trust these people

I would not trust these people, I emailed them to arrange a viewing on a tenanted property, no contact, after a couple of days I called them to arrange a viewing for same property, straight away the sales person tried steering me to another property instead, but I held firm, they said they would get back to me with an appointment, they never did, it’s now sold. They have preferred investors waiting in the background, other sectors would not get away with it.

As a first time buyer, me and my partner went with William H Brown to get on the property ladder. I couldn’t recommend the Rotherham branch more! Our mortgage advisor Bash was really supportive, welcoming, and friendly from the start. The whole process from choosing/viewing our house to our completion date was roughly 14 weeks and Bash helped us through every step of the property buying process and answered all our questions. We can’t thank Bash enough for the support he had given us and I would recommend him and the Rotherham team to anyone!

Sadly after great experiences 2/3 years ago the current level of service from the Rotherham office is no where near the level it was. Photographs that had items in them that could have easily been removed... poor communication for the entire contract period and now having come off contract cant even get the to respond to 3 emails chasing information or even answer the phone to ask why the board has still not been taken away. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend this agent.

I have had a shocking service trying to sell my property with the girls in the Rotherham office. They cancelled a viewing and didnt do anything to rebook it. I was doing an open day and they didnt even inform the potential buyer about it! I found them uncaring, aloof, unfriendly and unhelpful, they even speak over you on the telephone, as they are not interested in what you are trying to say. An awful experienced and a total waste of three months of nothing! The last straw was when they got my reduction of the price totally wrong and they were going to put it online thousands of pounds below what I had agreed! Be warned!

Keep pestering me despite house selling months ago

Came to our house for a free valuation before putting it on the market. We went with another agent because we felt William H Brown overvalued our house. We told them as soon as we decided that we wouldn’t be going with them. Since then, they have pretty consistently called me from various offices (local/regional etc) asking to co list with the agent we chose, trying to set up an appt with their in house mortgage advisor, asking if we have found anywhere else, asking how our sale is progressing etc. Our house sold in a week and we had an offer accepted on our new house the following week so we have absolutely no need for any input from William h brown. Yet still, three months later, they call me fortnightly to ask how everything is going, despite me asking them repeatedly to remove my details and any data associated with me. They are dogs with a bone who won’t take no for an answer!

I dealt with William H brown, Holderness road branch as a tenant. Firstly, they tried to scam me into buying home insurance as an essential requirement of the contract. During the tenancy my landlord was lovely and remained in touch directly, so thankfully I didnt have to deal with them. At the end, I was in huge trouble because WH brown's absolute unprofessionalism. Despite multiple calls and requests they failed to provide references for my next agent. I had no where to go for a week due to this delay. It cost me a fortune! Over a month has lapsed but they have done anything about my deposit. When asked they said to get in touch with the lamdlord directly. Whereas they were the ones processing the deposit collection initially. After sorting it with the landlord myself it was over 2 weeks without any further progress to deposit return. Really a shameful service!! Staff and service all pathetic

Its been 5 years since I moved out of a…

Its been 5 years since I moved out of a rented property by William H Brown in St Albans and I have not been refunded my holding deposit. I have contacted them severally over the phone and emails and no luck till date. Nothing but radio silence. First I was told the Landlord would be contacted to claim back the £500 or so left after she dubiously claimed damages on the property. They then later pushed it on me to speak chase the landlord to reach an agreement on obtaining my deposit back. I have used a 2026 date on my review because trustpilot doesnt allow you to go all the way back to 2021.

They are lying, cheating thieves. They diddled me out of a large portion of my life savings. They do not care about the catastrophic effects of their actions on local hard-working families and community members. They only care about enriching themselves at the expense of others. Do not engage with them and do not go anywhere near the absolute scam of modern auctions, which they orchestrate via third parties as an obvious attempt to distance themselves from legal responsibility and liability for malpractice.
