Poor sale management and communiciation

Put my mum's bungalow on the market with Merryweathers in Rotherham. Did not go well from the start the photos were poor and had to be retaken. The second batch of photos I had to crop and edit my self to get them looking reasonable. Found a buyer after reducing the price by £20K. After six weeks of Merryweathers saying the sale was progressing well I phoned my solicitor to get an update, only to find that the buyers solicitor hadn't even opened a file and did not have a mortgage arrange contary to what the agent had been saying. Very poor sale's management. Also trying to get hold of anyone in the branch is difficult twice I have phone more than for times during the day only to get an answering machine. Still waiting after 5 days for the manager to phone me to explain why these problems have occurred. Now terminated contract and gone else where.

Excellent Team, Highly Recommend!

We purchased our first house through the Sheffield Branch and we were very impressed from start to finish. Everybody has been extremely helpful, especially the branch manager Josh who has kept us up to date at every stage. He has always provided as much information as possible to help us get our heads around things with being first time buyers and he has definitely made the process as smooth as possible. They are an excellent team and we would highly recommend them to anyone, especially those looking to buy their first home.

Excellent Service

I used the Sheffield Branch to sell my house and was very impressed from start to finish. Everybody was extremely helpful especially the branch manager Josh. When I sent a question round to various sellers on rightmove about my house he was the only one that took the time to contact me and respond. Also he kept me up to date at every stage and supplied feedback after every viewing. Excellent work and would highly recommend them.

Me and my partner are currently buying a property through Hannah at Merryweathers and they have been nothing short of excellent. Everything so far has been so smooth and the communication has been spot on and miles ahead of local competition.Our mortgage is also being done via them through Sharon Bristow and her assistant Katrina and they have been so helpful, super efficient, speedy and found us a great deal.So far I couldn't think of a better agent and people to deal with.Highly recommend for both buying and mortgages.

MERRYWEATHERS ROTHERHAM Enquired Dec 2021 and initially the response seemed good The manager of the MEXBROUGH Branch initially attended on behalf of the Rotherham branch and said they had hardly any properties on the market They said the listing of the house valued at 600 K would be on Rightmove Zoopla before Boxing Day Even after two visits from Merryweathers nobody ever took any measurements or inc additional information in the listing we requested to be done The Epc guy didn’t turn up But it wasn’t until the first week in January the house was listed for sale Ok we can live with that But We’ve had no enquiries or offers whatsoever or any feedback from Merryweathers as to why c/o John Gagen from Rotherham BranchHowever I’ve just looked at Rightmove Zoopla 27th Feb 2022 and unbelievably the listing has been removed on an unknown date without any prior notification of any kind whatsoever from Merryweathers Rotherham What on earths going on? No letters phone call or emails nothingI’m extremely disappointed we’ve been treated this way This is totally unprofessional and not what you would expect from any Estate Agent you’ve put you’re trust in !,I can hardly believe it

Has anyone else experience the same with NO confirmation email of offer to vender ???

Has anyone else experience the same. ??????????I placed a offer on a property last week and I didn’t receive a confirmation email of offer to vender. AND this was “4 days before another person placed there offer”I’ve placed offers with other agents over the passed 6 months on other property’s with movetomove and ELR and I received emails of offer to vender straight away from both agents. It’s something esatate agent have to do to prove offer has been sent to the seller. Ive also been passed onto another lady in the office who I think is playing with peoples offers to get more commission before even ringing the vender. I could be wrong but if no email confirmation offer to vender has been sent to the new wanting to buy purchaser then what are we supposed to think. No information either unless I call that’s not good. I remember placing a offer on a property about 8 years ago with merry weathers And I’ve still not heard anything back from that either. Good job the agent that sold me my home Barton’s kept me up to date and sent me confirmation offer email or I’d be still living with parents.
