TrustpilotFirst Class failure
Sent a parcel first class, signed for on 28/11. Dropped off before 3.30pm. Checked today and they have done NOTHING with it. Obviously just sat there 29th.. 30th and 1st are strike days... parcel (dress and shoes) will not arrive in time for my daughter's work Christmas party... Why did I pay for "first class" post (sic)? She's going to be very upset. I keep reading how the Post Office is prioritisng profitable parcels at the expense of letters. What a joke. I should have used a courier..UPDATE, I got a swift response from the Post Office, who pointed out that these days the Post Office is a separate business from ROYAL MAIL, to whom I should have directed my fire. So my apologies to the post office. I've amended the star rating to reflect my general experience with them.

TrustpilotNo way to speak to a human
A parcel I posted is still sitting at the post office where I posted it a week ago and tracking says "Sender is preparing". I can't get back there in person right now and have found no possible way to speak to anyone about what may have happened/where my package is. No way of speaking to a person. Helpline and website just send you round in circles on a very basic FAQ. Completely uncontactable. The striking workers have my complete support - I just can't trust the Royal Mail anymore.

TrustpilotPoor service & inaccurate & misleading information
Closed my online savings account in Sept as rates so poor. Did receive a confirmation email which stated that if I would like a statement for the closed account to call tho why it isn’t sent out automatically with a certificate of interest for HMRC as other institutions do puzzles me. We are now in Nov & yet I still haven’t received either despite calling. I rang yesterday to be advised after a wait in a queue that the systems were down for at least the next hour & to call back. Would it not be simple to add that to a recorded message & save everyone else waiting & presumably staff pressure? I rang later that evening around 7.15pm as the both the Internet & the September 22 email stated opening times as 8am-10pm Mon-Fri. A recorded message advised opening times as 9am-7pm! I have now seen other comments where the Post Office has inaccurate information-around opening times of both lines & branches & amusingly, details of how & who to complain to. Shocking really & misinformation when we are being encouraged by them to do as much as possible on line & not to trouble them with phone calls. This morning the advisor stated he was unable to help again as their systems were updating & for me to call back. He also said the opening times stated on the Internet & the correspondence to me were the pre-pandemic times despite me pointing out the latest being dated 25th September 2022. He did give me an email address when I asked who to complain to but the system will not allow me to post it here. My local Post Office is good & my postmen so friendly. These are the things that have “kept me on board” as the PO say. Such a simple request to information I am entitled to but is both stressful & time consuming (on all parties). Post Office Money are you serious about online services & good customer care & service because it has not been demonstrated so far.

TrustpilotOnly use the Post Office if you can't find an alternative
Before I start let me be clear that I am not the type of person to complain without good reason. I understand the stress and pressure of working in retail so will give places a lot of chances before I begin to get frustrated. But I'm tired of the painfully slow service at the Post Office at the Plymouth (New George Street) branch. There are always full queues and only one or two staff serving. I can understand if there are staff shortages or something, but it's been like this for years so there's just no excuse. Someone needs to make the business decision to hire more staff or give existing staff more hours. Customers are getting fed up and going elsewhere, myself included - I will now only go to the Post Office if I absolutely have to.There is one man who works here who is polite and friendly. All of the other staff who I've come across have a stinking attitude. Seems like they all have a chip on their shoulder and they're waiting for a reason to nag or turn their nose up at your request. The front of the shop is plastered with "we won't tolerate rude behaviour from customers" signs and it drives me mad. Just seems like they're accusing everyone before they've even got to the front of the everlasting queue. And it's double standards - somehow the staff manage to get away with it.Also, before the Post Office reply with their generic copy and paste response - no I am not interested in emailing with details so that you can "escalate" it. All the details that you need are already in my review. Do what you want with that information. If you need people to make a separate email before you take any action, perhaps that explains why your service isn't getting any better.

TrustpilotStrike Strife
My Post Lady is great. Always friendly, always smiling, and is best friends with my dog. However, I’ve now been to the local Sorting Office twice in the last week to collect a parcel and it’s been shut both times due to industrial/strike action.I’m so sick and tired of people taking industrial action/striking. Whether it’s the trains or the Post Office, you should not be permitted to strike. If you are unhappy with your pay and conditions, go and find a job with better ones instead of holding the public to ransom. That’s how it works in the private sector, and rightly so. Everyone is going to be struggling with the cost of living this Winter, but for some inextricable reason, it seems some individuals feel the taxpayer/their employer should cover their increased costs. Why not take control of your own destiny without affecting those around you and just go and get a job with a salary and working conditions you are satisfied with? That’s the choice the vast majority of people have so why should you be any different?

TrustpilotOutdated
Outdated. Take away the branding and they have zero value. The service is clearly being run down. The post office does not deserve to be in the prevalent position it is. Someone please disrupt this market properly….. Following on from the below response “we continue to improve” etc etc email. Your post office specifically in Camberley is inefficient, poorly supported if at all as in recent weeks with it being closed. Post recently sent recorded was never sent so misplaced causing great concern due to the documents being legally binding and the delay has had large financial ramifications. Sending a complaints letter back we received stamps to value of the initial postage. You don’t have customer service in the sense of supporting the customers experience. This response is no more than PR gesture to give the impression the post office really is a modern day community service. It is not. Small claims court is in process for damages which I have intended to pursue on the basis of the insult of stamps in return for my inconvenience. Why would I want more of something I never intend to use again….

TrustpilotPost Office Annual Travel Insurance
Post Office Annual Travel Insurance. Had Covid in June so couldn’t travel and covered by policy. Claim submitted online. Quickly declined for a spurious reason which they confirmed as erroneous. I resubmitted as instructed. Sent all required papers. Months went by. They asked a couple of queries and requested one more document, which I sent immediately. Some weeks later they sent chaser for the same document. I called but got nowhere. They then asked for same doc for 3rd time. I complained - told 40 day response time for complaints. That will be November for an uncomplicated June claim.

TrustpilotPost Office DVLA photocard renewal UNAVAILABLE.
Post Office DVLA photocard renewal service - not available - Rayleigh, Essex.Unhappy to travel to a main office to find they have some issue with photo services - so advertised DVLA photocard renewal service not available. Got the impression the fault has not occurred that day.Told to check with other Post Offices before travel - but phone number do not appear to be available on Post Office website - so this information was wrong/misleading.If a Post Office branch is unable to provide a service - and it is accepted this may be a new fault - it is not unreasonable for that branch management to check with nearby branches to see if they remain operational. Then the customer can be advised what alternatives are available. This would not take much effort, and I expect Post Office staff are able to contact other branches.Very poor service - particularly on a restricted service where customers are likely to be travelling further than their usual post office journey. Issues with services should also be shown on the Post Office website on the branch details. I expect Post Office head office will have been told by the branch there is a problem - so why are head office not willing to share that information, and save their customers from the cost and waste of time of a useless journey.I now face the prospect of more cost/time visiting other main offices, just to try and find one where the DVLA linked photo service is working !UPDATE following Post Office response.I do not feel PO are able or want to acknowledge the issue. I did check which branches offered this 'restricted' service online BEFORE travel. There was NO indication of any problems, and NO means to check with the branch without actually visiting.Having since completed the task at another branch, I found they were aware that Rayleigh had problems, and got the impression that had been ongoing for some time.BUT even if staff at a branch cannot, or are unable to, get their website information accurate, they could still show some initiative and have found out themselves the nearest branches that are able to provide the 'failed' service. I think your customers, finding they had a wasted journey, would appreciate some accurate and up to date information on service availability. And yes - this issue has been raised directly - not least due to being advised to check with other branches when the necessary phone numbers do not appear to be available. The responses were not encouraging.I suspect the PO do not want to share details of service problems - and are content for customers to waste time and money visiting several branches until they find one where the advertised service is actually available. Extremely poor branch service supported by poor customer service. Unhappy that this review had a minimum of one star - as my experience, particularly of the responses by customer services, do not warrant even that. Pity DVLA do not have other agents providing this service for them.

Trustpilotcorruption or at very least extreme negligence
Zero stars in truth. Months ago I sent a parcel. It never arrived. I claimed. Claim was rejected on basis that couldn't prove value - despite my evidence of purchase. Vowed never to use PO again.Tried again in August 2022. Attempted to return goods purchased on Amazon. Still packed as received (never opened). Value £58.00. Sent second class signed delivery (2-3 days). 14 days later undelivered. I attempted to claim online. Countless failed attempts to complete form due to poor user interface. Finally completed form - approx. 1 hour later - last question what value. I entered value. Received msg, value greater than £50, form cleared and returned to blank beginning! Angry? Very! I truly believe the process us made to be near impossible so as to deter claimants. Aside from all that, WHY is it that BOTH parcels that I have sent via the Post Office have been 'lost'. Seems to me there is a degree of corruption or at very least extreme negligence in the Post Office. I WILL NEVER EVER USE THE POST OFFICE AGAIN!!!

7 days ago a magazine was mailed to me, from Kent, by first class mail. It has not arrived! 3 days ago a missing newspaper was mailed to me by first class, so far, no arrival. Soon The Post Office is going on strike. It will be very difficult to find out when it has started. The difference between a "normal service" and a strike is now blurred. Back in the 1970s living with my parents, we had TWO daily mail deliveries. One at about 7.45 AM and one at approx. 10.45 AM. It is now 13.27 I have no idea if anything will arrive today. TrustpilotAppalling Service
The Post Office doesn’t deserve one star I give a minus if I could. Posted a card in Sussex to go to Essex with a first class stamp. The card took a little over three weeks to reach its destination. Absolutely appalling considering the price of stamps which continue to rise yet the service continues to go down. To show how terrible they are I ordered a computer part which had to come from Australia. It arrived in three and a half days and two of those was a weekend. The Post Office is useless all they think about is huge profits. I spoke to my postman who said they were ashamed about the service they provide, it’s all about profit.

Appalling service in the Dartford high street branch. Bought a postage label on royal mail website, took the code to the lady behind the desk she said you need to print it, I explained I didn't have a printer and the website said it can printed in the branch, she advised me to go next door to Rhymans they would be able to do it for me. The feedback from Rhymans was the staff in there are lazy always send customers in here for printing g despite having a printer behind their counter. I went to my small local post office near to where I live and they printed the lable no problem at all. I think the Dartford post office staff need retraining in all aspects of customer service they are a miserable team too. My advice, avoid and go to another branch!

TrustpilotTerrible service ordering foreign currency
Very disappointed with recent experience ordering foreign currency online to be delivered to a local branch (Greenford). Despite the fact I had paid for the currency when I went to collect it at the time given it was not available. Several lengthy calls to head office later it transpired that the branch was expected to fulfil orders from their stock yet there was no mechanism for checking if the money was available or putting it aside. In my case the branch had run out of money the day before but not informed head office even when they had received my order and no one had contacted me to let me know. Head office were unable to find a branch anywhere near me with the currency so I asked for a refund. I was told this would take 24-48 hours and also told I would be given an additional £20 as compensation for their mistake. In fact the refund took five days and required me chasing again, and two weeks on and I am yet to receive the £20 compensation. I was also told I would be contacted by the customer care team about the service in the branch but have heard nothing. I feel it is completely unacceptable to charge for a service the Post Office were aware they could not provide and to take so long to refund. I was unsure about using the service as the Greenford branch is generally very unreliable with unhelpful staff but the online transaction seemed reassuring. I will certainly not ever use this service again and intend to also close my savings account with the Post Office.

No card through the door to tell me where it’s supposed to be. Paid for track and trace. Shambolic. But do they care? Not one bit!15.57pm the next day, still no response! The Consumer Rights Act 2015 says that services must be provided with reasonable care and skill. The service paid for ‘track and trace’ has not been provided (again) and the parcel has not been delivered.Would that class as fraud?
