This is the best Post Office in…

This is the best Post Office in Darlington. This morning the girls that assisted me, Donna and Sarah, couldn't have been more helpful. It was early morning and they were very happy and courteous. Each time I have been in the store all the girls there have been extremely pleasant and make the start of my day a very happy one. Donna and Sarah are full of smiles and pleasantries something that is lacking today in many other stores. Even starting at 6am the staff in this store are amazing. Thank you girls, you made an old lady very happy this morning. I am truly grateful for your assistance.

To be served by the branch 'manager' e1…

To be served by the branch 'manager' e1 2dw you will experience the worst customer service you have probably ever encountered. I found him rude, stroppy and argumentative, even when I was polite, respectful and unconfrontational. Very very rude staff - aggressive and patronising. Not helpful at all, and provides misleading information. Tries to charge you more for postage. PLEASE AVOID. It's the main staff, I think the manager - who is the problem.. I have experienced and witnessed extremely rude and intimidating customer service every time I go into this post office. I now go out of my way to avoid using this branch.Patronising, belligerent, patronising Manager runs the show in this pit of a post-office. His staff follow suit, although I can see that one or two of them are constantly embarrassed by him. Others (post offices) closed due to cut-backs, but this ghastly apparition of customer services still exists. A hidden gem for researchers & students on how not to run a business.Manager is rude, unprofessional and tries to intimidate customers. They always quote a higher price for parcels, please check online before you go or try and avoid this place. They will demand you tell them what's in the parcel and make you feel like you are doing something wrong. Need customer service training.Very rude and no sense of any customer service. It's such a shame the reputation of the post office is let down by the rudeness of the staff!! I would never recommend this post office to anyone. Also I will not be using this post office myself ever again! He needs to be sacked and the post office closed down or new staff in this post office please help. This really needs to be dealt with.

Order placed with Asos

I placed an order with Asos, and requested the parcel be left on the back door step. It was supposed to be delivered on the 5th March. I saw the guy on my home camera knock on the door, and leave with my parcel. I went to the Royal Mail website and asked for redelivery on the 6th March, and to leave it on my back door step. It was never delivered on the 6th March. I called on the 7th March and was told it would be delivered on the 8th, but they couldn.t tell me whether or not it would be left where I requested. Surprise, surprise, no delivery. It is now the 11th March and I still don't have my parcel. There was birthday gifts in there which has now passed. Absolute garbage delivery service. I won't be using Asos again if they continue to use the Royal Mail as their parcel delivery company.

Pinner branch discrimination

Pinner branch: I've been treated like a leprosy sufferer before but never this crudely in its disdain. Plainly was told that i had to prove to the manager I'm mentally ill! I asked for help in doing something instead she mumbles most of her words. When asked why she couldn't help, she demands my husband's statements. I felt humiliated by their attitude where I was crying so they told customers pointing at me. My husband ended up going being annoyed that I was refused twice in spite of having a hand bag full of proof of address for both of us and she refused him too. I've no electricity or hest tonight. Thank you Yogeswary for being a racist, discriminating simpleton who left me knowing I'm a problem she won't deal with. Only I'm back tomorrow and the day after because I need the service done! 26 years in the UK and TRUST me the French work harder and that ought to be a pun, not a reality.

Shambolic service - not fit for purpose

Travelled 15 miles to The Northallerton branch for an identity verification. Waited in the queue whilst the two male members of staff worked at snails pace whilst chatting to the customers, only to be told that the person who needs to do the verification was busy doing a passport. They told me it would take approx 15-20 mins before I would be seen to. After 30 mins of waiting to the side of the desk ( the queue by this time was half way down the store) I overheard the member of staff I was waiting for offer to do a passport for someone behind me in the queue. When I approached him and told him I had waited 30 mins he told me that he didn't know and proceeded to deal with that customer Not willing to wait a minute longer I walked out. This was my third attempt at getting this done for my job. Tried again today in Darlington and the system was down! Why is it that nobody seems to do a proper job any longer?

Not delivered to the right address

I have received a text from the Post Office stating my package was delivered. The tracking showed a photo of it inside the doorway, but not my doorway. When your business is delivery of mail and parcels you'd think that delivering to the correct address would be a given. There is only one road in my village with the name Hereward Way but somehow it was still mis-delivered. I checked all the number 5s on the estate and none matched the photo, so it wasn't even delivered to the right estate. One star for not even being able to get the basics right.

Untrustworthy and Incompetent

I purchased a "guaranteed" next day service. The package was delivered two days late. The 'tracking' feature was ridiculous. I lost money as a consequence of late delivery. The Post Office rejected my claim for compensation on the grounds that I did not read their T&Cs or purchase their 'consequential loss insurance' (which was not offered and I had never heard of!). It should be illegal for a company to describe a service as 'guaranteed' if it is not guaranteed (or insufficiently insured, as in my case). The Post Office and Royal Mail are essentially monopolies. They were better as state owned organisations. Hopeless customer service.* I know Royal Mail is a separate company to Post Office Counters Limited. I complained to both organisations. Each said the other was responsible: PO blamed RM for late delivery; RM blamed PO for selling me the wrong product. When I submitted complaints to both companies…they both changed their tune and blamed me. Surprise, surprise!

EBSS ID issues! Staff need retrained...…

Called in to my local PO to redeem my EBSS £600 voucher. I wished for it to be paid directly into my bank account. Followed instructions as per letter for ID requirements. There is two sets of requirements, one for cash and one for funds to be paid into account. As per said letter, I had my EBSS letter, bank statement, bank card and keypad card. I was then told I needed photo ID. This is when the issues started. I asked the staff member to read said letter, which clearly states on a number of occasions photo ID is only required for cash payments. Apparently the letter was wrong and they had processed 50 payments this week so they know the process. They were rude and quite abrupt about it all. At one point I was referred to as a potential fraudster. Their parting shot was to claim that no PO would redeem my voucher without photographic ID. Just to reiterate again, I was not looking for cash. Severely inconvenienced and in desperate need of this money in the midst of a cost of living crisis I went to a different branch. Once again, the staff member asked me for photographic ID. I calmly pointed out, yet again, that photo ID was only required for cash. I asked her to read the letter. She clearly listened, unlike the previous branch member, and then realised her mistake to process payment for me. Absolutely shocking experience all round. The knowledges gaps for the two braches is just mind blowing. It is clearly stipulated in the letter what is required. Further to that is it clearly illustrated on gov.uk and has been widely reported within the media. How are your staff getting it wrong? My problem with all this is that vulnerable customers will take your staff members words as gospel (as they are meant to know after all) and just give up. They may not have any form of valid ID. You could have customers with mobility issues been made to travel back to branches unnecessarily with photo ID. It really is a shambles, especially because people are desperate for these payments in the midst of a cost of living crisis. Your staff actions are prolonging people who are desperate getting this much needed help. I would suggest you retrain your staff on the scheme immediately.

***AVOID AT ALL COST****

don't think in my 49 years on this earth I have encountered more rude, miserable and bad tempered staff anywhere. The post office is run by two of these! husband and wife and I'm not sure which one is worse!, they are awful individuals. Considering (we the public) give them our business, why on earth do they treat us like we are nothing more than nuisances!!!!!Today was the final straw, I will never set foot there again and would rather use Evri for parcel returns and risk them losing them than deal with the awful bad attitude I had to encounter today. I am amazed that so much bad temperedness and rudeness can be squeezed into these two people. The only thing slightly more amazing is that the shop and post office remains in business, how????? I have no idea!!!!!!!I gave everything a one star only because I had to, if there was an option for minus stars I definitely would have done that.***** AVOID AT ALL COSTS******

Winton Post Office. Superb!

Visited Winton Post Office on 27/01/23 about midday. We needed to get our recent Ukrainian arrivals their Biometric Residents Permits. We were served by a lovely Asian lady who was wearing a woollen hat against the cold weather. She was delightful, helpful and friendly despite the long queue of people. This really helped to reassure our nervous mother and daughter Ukrainians who had only arrived from Kyiv two days before. Thank you so much Winton Post Office (near Bournemouth) Not only did you do yourselves proud, but you, (even if it is for a small moment) shone a bright light onto the UK and it’s humanitarian services for those in dire need.

Unprofessional

Unprofessional. Done a check & send service for my daughters passport & the lady said wheres the dads passport details quite abruptly. I stated she doesn't have one, she then stated "oh there may be issues then & you need to tell us why you don't have them" all infront of people, was so embarrassing. There was an elderly man asking about his passport before me and they said no we can't help come back next week & he left very worried. Someone waited 20mins in the queue and was told no euros available, why not have a notice up?. Very disappointing.

No Customer Care

The customer is not important to this organisation. There was a lovely little post office in the very busy shopping mall at Lower Early near Reading. Opposite ASDA, next to Greggs and with a Boots two doors down, it was ideally placed to serve the busy local community. So they closed it down. Ridiculous. The sooner the Post Office is taken over by a responsible organisation, the better.I have had a reply from the Post Office telling me where my nearest branches are. Not the point. I don’t want to struggle to park or pay for parking. I don’t want to travel miles to find a Post Office that provides the full range of services rather than just stamps and an Amazon return. I want a post office in a shopping mall like I use to have, where I can sort various things out whilst doing my weekly shop. Lower Earley near Reading was perfect for thousands and thousands of us. Sorry if my needs don’t make you eye watering profits.

By far the worst parcel delivery option…

By far the worst parcel delivery option going. They make yodel and evri look good (which is saying something). I asked for a parcel to be delivered to a safe space, or a neighbor over 2 hours before the delivery. The delivery was then automatically rescheduled for the following week. They attempted delivery anyway but unsurprisingly no one was home, they did not try a neighbor or leave in the specified safe place. Now I have to either go into town and pay for parking to collect my parcel, or wait until next week for the post office to possibly tKe into account my delivery preferences. There is no good contact to rectify any issues. Unfortunately the royal mail is long past its best.

Post office buildings Insurance

Post office buildings Insurance - avoid avoid! A storm led to water coming through our kitchen ceiling (just plastered, sob, and a brand new kitchen) That was nov 14th. Post office Insurance are still waiting for their surveyor's report. 3 weeks since the leak started, 2 weeks since the surveyor came. More and more water comes in each time it rains. Two formal complaints to the company haven't even been acknowledged. Appalling. 3 weeks with a major leak! No point even having insurance.Update, 20th December. Finally on 8th December we were made an offer to cover the internal damage. But it took until December 20th for the next contact. PLEASE DON'T OFFEND

We live in an ever-increasing secular society where MOST people find religion offensive. So, why do post offices "AUTOMATICALLY" give religious postage stamps over November/December period? As a staunch atheist, I am sick of having to REFUSE these stamps which I find offensive, and to then request NON-religious stamps. It's time post offices "AUTOMATICALLY" give NON-religious stamps and for religious people to have to “ASK” for religious stamps. Is that unreasonable? Please cease offending atheists by "AUTOMATICALLY" giving these religious stamps which I, and people like me - find totally offensive. As a staunch atheist I am SO offended and disgusted to be CLASSED as religious by post office staff. Lets hope that 2022 is the LAST time post offices class us ALL as religious. Let religious people ”REQUEST” religious stamps. Don’t expect ATHEISTS to have to “REFUSE” these stamps which you give AUTOMATICALLY. As I say, it is an ever-increasing secular society where less and less people are religious. I am 59 years old and have NEVER known anyone who goes to church or is the slightest bit religious. So, let’s have this reflected when selling stamps. I have nothing against religious people. That is THEIR choice. Being a staunch atheist is MY choice and I DO NOT recognise xmas or celebrate it. Please treats atheists with respect and please cease offending us those of us who ARE offended by religious stamps. I read that the church say they don’t want the likes of snowmen on stamps and they WANT religion-related stamps. For goodness sake. I personally like snowmen, but I hate religion. All I ask for is for atheists to be respected and for this to be reflected when you sell stamps.

Post Office always closes early at Christmas.

I regularly go to the Post Office within the Tesco at Brent Park. This used to be open until 8pm.But for several weeks has been closing early all week at 6pm. No details are given why. There is no obvious Manager to speak to.With Royal Mail on strike and in the few weeks before Christmas this is the time of year when it will be most busy. In living memory (I'm 70) I’ve never…

In living memory (I'm 70) I’ve never come across a more abysmal experience when trying to send mail. The Post Office service is OK, but they do take the money and provide the stamps with the clear and certain knowledge that the items are highly unlikely to be delivered in time. Is the Post Office and Royal Mail not twinned services? As far at the Royal Mail is concerned, there is really no attempt at all to deliver anywhere near on time but they still expect full price for premium, signed for, tracked, next-day, services, etc. surely this is highway robbery. Help pages are useless and any attempt at claiming for lost/delayed post is usually met with tracking number not recognised, or come back and try again days/weeks longer. The Post Office admit letters might not be delivered (but still are charged) as they are concentrating on parcels, so I put letters in parcels and paid extra but still not delivered. How is it that all other courier services meet their obligations and deliver promptly.

Horrendous

I have just witnessed the postman screwing up and forcing my daughters Animal Planet magazine into our post box. It is now damp, ripped and destroyed! There is not an ounce of common sense between them. The deliver late, dump parcels, damage post, dump their vehicle where they like, walk around smoking. The post office are an utter disgrace and I would NEVE use them by choice. I have now arranged to collect the children's magazines from the news agent to ensure they are not damages. It beggars belief that these people have the audacity to strike for more money when they are not doing a good job! Post office, look at these review sites! First Class failure

Sent a parcel first class, signed for on 28/11. Dropped off before 3.30pm. Checked today and they have done NOTHING with it. Obviously just sat there 29th.. 30th and 1st are strike days... parcel (dress and shoes) will not arrive in time for my daughter's work Christmas party... Why did I pay for "first class" post (sic)? She's going to be very upset. I keep reading how the Post Office is prioritisng profitable parcels at the expense of letters. What a joke. I should have used a courier..UPDATE, I got a swift response from the Post Office, who pointed out that these days the Post Office is a separate business from ROYAL MAIL, to whom I should have directed my fire.
