I am extremely disappointed…

I am extremely disappointed and outraged by the appalling service provided by Peter Alan during our recent attempt to secure a rental property.From the very beginning, communication was horrendous. Despite paying the holding deposit and submitting all required referencing documents promptly, we received minimal updates on our application status. As our scheduled move-in date approached, we were left in the dark, constantly chasing for answers, only to be met with vague responses and further delays.The final, devastating blow came on the very day we were supposed to move in. After numerous attempts to get in touch, we finally received a call at 5:30 PM informing us that the landlord had decided not to let the property anymore and intended to sell it. This last-minute revelation has left us homeless, with no time to make alternative arrangements.As a pregnant woman, six months along, and with a one-year-old child, this situation is beyond stressful, it is unacceptable and irresponsible. The lack of urgency, transparency, and basic decency throughout this process has been infuriating. Moving home is already a stressful experience, and the blatant mishandling of our application has added unnecessary anxiety and hardship to our lives.I hope this feedback serves as a serious wake-up call for Peter Alan to drastically improve their communication and customer service. No one should have to go through the ordeal that we did, especially families with young children.

I have dealt with peter alan for the sale of my property. My opinion is they over value the house to get the business then they do not provide any service or follow up & expect you the customer to wait until the sale falls through or completes. I never felt like a valued customer or that they were acting in my best interests. I have sold many properties & dealt with many estate agents, these are in my opinion the least professional by far.

LANDLORDS AVOID AT ALL COSTSIn almost 20 years of being a landlord I have never had a worst experience then either the Llanishen branch of Peter Alan . It’s been 10 days since the tenant moved in and I am still yet to recieve a penny from Peter Alan. I provided them with gas certificates from Heatgorce which they copied and excepted until after the tenant moved I. They stayed there was a problem with my certificate and they were locking my account . I took the next day off work got another certificate which they still weren’t happy with and in their defence they got a third certificate. However it’s been almost a week since they said this and they are still yet to pay me one penny. They could not care less about my financial situation as long as they got paid they that is all these matters. Their vetting of clients leaves a lot to be desired as I believe they just care about their earnings. They advised me to drop tbd price of my property so I didn’t miss another months mortgage payment then locked my account due yo a certificate they had already approved outstanding financial advice go yourself a favour avoid at all costs!!!

Swansea branch, AVOID!!!

The sales manager in the Swansea branch, Jade, was incredibly rude and condescending, The team had clearly miscommunicated between themselves and then to us but blamed the entire thing on us. When i expressed my discomfort with how they made me feel they practically mocked me and tried to act like I had no idea what I was talking about and as if all these things are normal when you try to buy. I didn’t bother to explain that I work in the industry so I know it’s absolutely not.She could really benefit from some sensitivity training. It’s okay for companies/ employees to make mistakes, just own up to and be better!Never involving myself with this company again and if you care about your mental wellbeing I suggest you stay far away from the Swansea branch.

Very poor experience

It is no surprise to me that the customer rating is so poor. They fail to return calls when offers are made, are both rude and abusive to customers in particular the Whitchurch Branch Cardiff. When you question them they put the phone down of you, when you contact them asking for the area manager to ring he simply fails to do so, then takes the easy option of emailing you with his decision on what took place incredibly without even speaking to the customer!!You ring the branch and they do not answer. When you speak to them there is no apology or acceptance that they have failed you.To think they charge for this service and purport to be a professional well managed organization is incredible. Personally I would steer clear of dealing with them whether selling or buying through them. Very poor company very poorly managed.

Blackwood office is not to be trusted.

Tried to rent from them in Blackwood. Awful. Pictures shown were not accurate. House was disgusting both viewings. Cupboards full of old food, beds all slept-in, wifi still on but, apparently, "been empty for 8 months". Couldn't find the keys for garage conversion (and lied about it) or front door. Ignored by the manager. They don't need to provide a service so they don't bother

Food for thought

We have no doubt that the vast majority of your staff are respectful and courteous to their potential clients and customers and to the community in which they serve. As local residents, we would like to express our sadness at being faced with a particularly rude and aggressive member of staff at Dinas Powys’s branch, who intimidated one of our residents when they popped into the branch to ask if the branch worker would mind parking more considerately outside residents’ houses. As residents of a kind and caring community, we feel this behaviour and attitude is not acceptable. Hopefully this matter will be resolved and the member of staff will be able to move forward by behaving in a respectful and polite manner towards local residents.

Do not take face value on their reviews in Google, I'm reading more relatable experiences here. I've had a landlord enter the property without proper notice. They've lied so much I can barely keep track, they've lied to local shared regulatory services. Their own documentation they provided when we took on the contract contradicts their later lies, they are sneaky and very dishonest. Had to get the legal invovlement, pay solicitor fees, the ombudsman, environmental health and information commissioners office. The last one where they have falsely documented thing about us on their notes to cover themselves. Despite this all being evidenced you still cannot get any acknowledgement its like dealing with narcissists or an abusive person, just in letting agent form. I hope they get what is coming to them, it's people like this and landlords they do business with is why people are being taken advantage of and the property market is such a mess. They knew we had had an horrendous experience prior to this, the landlord later left us with broken windows for months. I'd be dead if I held my breath for some degree of responsibility on their part, that's if the stress or mould don't finish me off first.

Oliver kept in constant communication and updates on where we were at. Peter Alan Lettings in Pontyclun and their Cardiff office are an absolute disgrace. They have withheld our deposit and also doctored documents regarding inventory to make it look as though we had received a copy of an inventory when we didn't. Dont expect to be paid your deposit back from them until the death of the 10th day and that is after their constant excuses and delays before they even agree to give you back money, then their excuses of needing proof you actually paid them money. The complaints process is a joke and I would never recommend anyone to use their letting services and god help you if your deposit is with them under an insured TDS scheme!

Oliver Clifford was initially arranging my remortgage. The rates he found were excellent compares to the high street lenders. Nothing was ever an inconvenince, even when my circumstances changed when buying a new property instead. He dealt with everything from the cancellation of the remortagage to the preparation of the Agreement in Principle and he was extremely flexible when arranging appointments. Could not recommend him highly enough.

Do not go with Peter Alan!!! I was told that they were the biggest and best estate agents in Cardiff and therefore that's why they charge the premium price. My property was on the market for 8 weeks with Peter Alan and I had 2 viewings. In that time I had around 4 cancellations, some of which were due to clerical errors from Peter Alan's side. Other cancellations Peter Alan didn't even bother to contact to say the viewing was cancelled. Communication with Peter Alan was poor, I had to do a lot of chasing up, and even at times when they said somebody would come back to me they did not bother getting back in touch. I was present at one viewing and there was no effort to sell the house. When you are paying over £2000 for a service you are expecting a high quality service. I got the impression that place was badly run and basic fundamental things were not done correctly. I felt the whole experience had wasted 8 weeks of my time, and has potentially cost me purchasing a house of my own.

Good afternoon, I hereby come to show my dissatisfaction with Peteralan of Newport. They make misleading sales and the information on the website is also misleading. I am attaching proof of the same.We were told from the first day that the property that we are buying was with no chain, in fact on the website we could read "no onwards chain". Hi there, I just want to get my honest opinion to help other landlords I had 4 houses with Peter Alan , they have been completely useless, & added more and more stress of non-stressful situation ! I’ve moved my houses now to Landlord, letting agents is the best thing I’ve ever done with half the fees & stress 90% of the time you can’t get hold of them, and when you do, they’re completely useless anyway except for one girl who is amazing she’s the best there by 500%Her name is Lily Dawson, she works in Culver house cross in Cardiff id giver her 5star i personally think she should find somewhere else to work because they are rubbish & she deserves better & is too good to work in a dump like Peter Alan p.s avoid letting your house with this rubbish company at all costs !!!!!
