GoogleSam Hall at Richmond Office was accommodating and available to show us the flats and answer all our questions. He guided us through the whole process and over the ups and downs, ensuring we secured our new place. He is also a lovely person to work with. GoogleWe are a family run letting business in Kew and have used Chancellor's in Richmond for 5years. Their letting team are excellent adapting to the way we manage our flats. The quality of the service we have had is largely to the credit of their lettings director, Andrew Jourdain. He is extremely knowledgeable about the legal framework that defines the private rental sector. He also knows the local area extremely well and his judgement on how this market is developing has always been sound. Overall a friendly, efficient service.

GoogleAVOID as renters. If you have an issue, such as your flat nearly flooding due to a serious leak, damage to the walls, water dripping out of the ceiling...... They will not bother to fight for you or employ any urgency in dealing with the matters, despite multiple calls and emails to them pleading otherwise! One month after aforementioned leak - the original source still hasn't been fixed, you continue to chase them regarding investigations and redecorating and they'll happily let you live in a state of disrepair with cracked and damaged walls and light fittings hanging out the ceiling! It took them 5 months to come look at a broken window (that still hasn't been fixed). Proper pre-property checks are also not carried out - such as the heating system not performing properly, and then refusing to service the boiler even though it hadn't been serviced in over 10 years!! Sales team are nice enough (as sales people usually are). However, it's clear the management of the company is poor due to a lettings exec calling me up at 7.30pm on a Friday night franctically trying to sort paperwork. Oh yes, they can be urgent when it suits them!! If you are looking to rent with them, AVOID CHANCELLORS. Update November 11: Leaks happened in February 2024 and July 2024 - no redecorating has taken place. A decorator came round to get a quote for works in October but still no date for the works yet.

GoogleAvoid the lettings department like the plague. If I could give zero stars I would. Andrew Jourdain is a nice chap but of course he doesn’t manage the properties and the team which does is shockingly bad. Our tenants were left without properly working heating or hot water for 6 weeks in the middle of winter due to Chancellors’ incompetence at basic communication and follow up. Chancellors told the tenant they were waiting on us for a decision about replacing the boiler when they hadn’t even sent us a quote. After it all came to light, and I had to step in and sort the boiler replacement out myself due to their incompetence, a whole slew of other issues came to light where the tenant had reported things and we’d never been informed and the issues had not been resolved months later. I followed Chancellors complaints process and was offered an insulting £50 for my time and inconvenience, which I turned down. Although they admitted fully that they were in the wrong, they wouldn’t even make a simple apology to the tenant because the tenant hadn’t made a complaint themselves. They’re a disgrace - don’t use them.

GoogleMost unprofessional viewing I've been to. The agent ended up ringing us at the time of our scheduled viewing to tell us she hadn't left yet and would likely be caught in traffic and be 15 minutes late. She then asked us to tell anyone else who was there she would be late. When we arrived there were 4 other couples waiting. When she finally arrived she asked us where everybody else was before seeing the crowd. Then she said she hoped the tenants were in because she didn't have keys to the property... Are you serious? It was fine because the tenants were in but you're late and then you want to lead with oh we might not be able to get into the property? I rang the office to give them feedback but they're such a big company it's unlikely to affect them at all. All four couples ended up seeing the property at the same time which we didn't mind but felt sorry for the newborn that was just put to sleep. Just really disappointing experience overall. She was not the best representation of their agency.
