John D Wood & Co. St Margarets reviews in Richmond upon Thames

I've been using the St Margarets office for property management since 2012. I find Shona Fraser and her team professional, efficient and helpful. My aim is to be involved as little as possible in the day to day running and Shona and her team help to keep it that way.

Chiswick Lettings Team

Laura and her team in the Chiswick Rental offices went the extra mile in advising us on every aspect of finding a new tenant for our property including help with plumbers, decorators and removals and most importantly in finding us a good selection of prospective new tenants to choose from. A very hands on operation with excellent customer service and support.

Excellent service from start to finish!

I'd like to thank the whole team at John D Wood in South Kensington and in particular Umar and Angelo for introducing a buyer and working together with all parties (solicitors, managing agents, freeholders, buyer and vendor) in a friendly, personalised and dedicated way from start to finish. Although the whole process - from offer and sales memorandum till exchange of contracts and completion of the sale at the agreed price - took approximately 12 weeks, Umar and Angelo have always kept me informed of every single step towards achieving a successful sale. It was often just a text or quick phone call - even on a Sunday - which kept me motivated throughout the process. I believe that with John D Wood I have been in very good hands and would therefore highly recommend them.

Absolute delight working with them. They helped us get our first flat on rent when we had freshly moved to the UK. They were very helpful with the flat maintenance and any requests we had for appliance repair during our stay. Laura from their team topped all this recently by returning us a month's rent that we had overpaid a little more than 3 years ago! Thanks for all this and wish other estate agencies could be as good and honest like them!

Simon Philip has been extremely professional and very helpful throughout the whole purchase process. I highly recommend him and John D Wood & Co. Updates are frequent and detailed from him and his team. He also provided a gift set at completion which was a lovely surprise.

Laura and team have been fantastic from start to finish, letting our property within 24 hours of listing to a quality tenant at a very good rental yield, all at a very competitive rate. Very impressive and highly recommended!

Deposit nightmare solved

We have recently had to move during COVID. It was incredibly stressful and made worse when we found ourselves unable to access our deposit back through no fault of our own. At first I was not happy with the responses I was getting until Rupert Simmonds stepped in. He went above and beyond to cut through red tape and help us to get our deposit back in full. Rupert is a credit to John D Wood!

Really bad when it comes to services

Really bad when it comes to services. My deposit is stuck with them for more than 2 months. Always some lame excuse for not paying back. There is an property manager named Moesha, who will never address any query but will just be harsh I hope to give below 1 star but that the least i can go.

Many moons ago I purchased my first property through Simon Philp. Since then I have moved numerous times and I only ever trust Simon to sell my homes. He’s honest, he’s always calm and very knowledgeable. I recommend Simon to anyone thinking of buying or selling a property

Claire has been excellent in helping us…

Claire has been excellent in helping us find a rental properly from abroad. She was super flexible with our requirements and timing and always kept us in the loop once we found the property. She did an extra video viewing and asked many questions to current tenants on our behalf. I would highly recommend Claire and her team and if were to rent again would definitely use them!

DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!

This company make an appearance of disorganization, but could not possible stay in business, if they were, indeed, as disorganized as they appear. Having managed to fend me off for three days whilst I was house-hunting in France; I finally found that the gem of a house I had found - in Perpignan - was taken off the market; in order that it could be purchased by a relative of one of the partners/directors of John D Wood. Worse than inefficient and unprofessional ... very close to fraudulent! DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!

I rented a property which was managed by this company. The agents made promises they did not meet and the management agents are extremely poor. There was a flood and the information provided by the company turned out to be in accurate so they have refused to reimburse me for the hotel and all costs. I have had to instruct my lawyers to start a court process.

I would thoroughly recommend John D Wood's Earls Court office - being involved in any property purchase/sale is generally a pretty stressful experience but Sophie (Ling) and Fee (Henderson) have guided me through the labrynth of paperwork and processes with great professionalism and expertise and most importantly kept me calm whenever I began to panic about something! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
