I had a great experience with both Lettings and Sales at Chestertons over the last 10 years. In particular, both Ian and Catherine from Sales have been instrumental in negotiating a very good offer on a property I was selling and in actively engaging with the buyer and the buyer’s solicitor in getting the exchange and completion over the line.

I rang the management phone number feeling worried because my usual point of contact was away from the office and I had an urgent problem that could potentially have involved a good deal of money. Another day, Another threat from the agency. I would strongly recommend not working with this agency at all. It is a sincere request from a tenant, it is just using the power dynamics brutally because they have the security deposit. I have the threats on email now so I do not if I can upload them for better reference for other people. The service is just pathetic.

Chestertons bought the estate agents outfit I originally rented from. They are the most unfriendly and unhelpful rental agents I’ve ever met. First they claim not to have a copy of my keys, which means they misplaced or lost them, not too smart. Then they claim I didn’t pay my rent when I did and have a record/receipt for my bank. Then they wanted to increase my rent by 15% because “your rent hasn’t gone up in 5 years” it’s not my fault 🤦♀️ they send me endless harassing emails when I’m trying to work.
