TrustpilotTerrible property managers
This review is directed towards the property management arm of Chancellors. As tenants, we have had horrendous experiences for the past five years with having any maintenance issues addressed. It takes, on average, two emails and a phone call before they even respond to a request regarding a maintenance issue, and the issues themselves (basic ones - such as an oven not working, overhead lights completely burned out (not just the bulbs), a broken step on a staircase that represents a safety issue) can take weeks, if not months, to resolve - again, with us chasing all the time.

GoogleAvoid the lettings department like the plague. If I could give zero stars I would. Andrew Jourdain is a nice chap but of course he doesn’t manage the properties and the team which does is shockingly bad. Our tenants were left without properly working heating or hot water for 6 weeks in the middle of winter due to Chancellors’ incompetence at basic communication and follow up. Chancellors told the tenant they were waiting on us for a decision about replacing the boiler when they hadn’t even sent us a quote. After it all came to light, and I had to step in and sort the boiler replacement out myself due to their incompetence, a whole slew of other issues came to light where the tenant had reported things and we’d never been informed and the issues had not been resolved months later. I followed Chancellors complaints process and was offered an insulting £50 for my time and inconvenience, which I turned down. Although they admitted fully that they were in the wrong, they wouldn’t even make a simple apology to the tenant because the tenant hadn’t made a complaint themselves. They’re a disgrace - don’t use them.

GoogleAVOID as renters. If you have an issue, such as your flat nearly flooding due to a serious leak, damage to the walls, water dripping out of the ceiling...... They will not bother to fight for you or employ any urgency in dealing with the matters, despite multiple calls and emails to them pleading otherwise! One month after aforementioned leak - the original source still hasn't been fixed, you continue to chase them regarding investigations and redecorating and they'll happily let you live in a state of disrepair with cracked and damaged walls and light fittings hanging out the ceiling! It took them 5 months to come look at a broken window (that still hasn't been fixed). Proper pre-property checks are also not carried out - such as the heating system not performing properly, and then refusing to service the boiler even though it hadn't been serviced in over 10 years!! Sales team are nice enough (as sales people usually are). However, it's clear the management of the company is poor due to a lettings exec calling me up at 7.30pm on a Friday night franctically trying to sort paperwork. Oh yes, they can be urgent when it suits them!! If you are looking to rent with them, AVOID CHANCELLORS. Update November 11: Leaks happened in February 2024 and July 2024 - no redecorating has taken place. A decorator came round to get a quote for works in October but still no date for the works yet.

Well, What can I say about Rakesh Jethwa. He has been an absolute star and amazing in his service, since giving an evaluation on my property right through to getting offers. He is so personable, makes you feel like family. He has helped in troubled tenants and advised and assisted in every eventuality. I would give him 6 Stars if I could. No doubt he will always assist any new vendors who want to put their property for sale. I would not have been were I am without his help. He will be appreciated always and I thank him for his service and this includes Courtney Kennedy in the after sales office, who has been a tremendous help too.
