It is a terrible experience when using the services of John Serpherd because they are habitually not to honor the agreement between them and the Landlord, and suddenly asked the Landlord pay a bill more than £600 without the prior consent or approval or informing the Landlord for the work that is not of emergency. I would definitely lobby complaint to The Property Ombudsman. It is a company that you can not trust.

Our experience with this branch has been disappointing. While they do eventually address issues, the response time is extremely slow. Recently, we ended our tenancy, and despite over a month passing, we still haven’t received our deposit. We’ve repeatedly emailed and called, but the responses are vague, and the management seems to change frequently. The lack of proper communication and accountability makes the service frustrating and unprofessional.

Trying to deal with these agents is impossible. I’m a landlord at a flat on the ground floor below a flat they are agents too.They have had a major leak in the flat they are agents too and basically told me they are getting a humidifier . What a joke. My tenant says the ceiling is about to collapse as in the pics attached and Julie at John Shepherd tells me the issue is fixed. No urgency what so ever on behalf of their tenants . The plumber they used has given 3 different explanations for the leak and none of them are accurate.If this is how they respond in emergency’s they are not proper agents and show absolute no duty of care to their tenants and to the other people they are affecting .

Used as an agent for my property up until June 2022. Apologies for the late review. Found a tenant for me who was unsuitable and never paid his rent, trashed the property and wouldn’t leave. After doing some basic research myself I could see that they were a repeat offender. How they didn’t pick this up is a Joke. John shepherd took no responsibility for the client they found, were completely unhelpful and still charged me their monthly fee until it was resolved, (through no help of John Shepherd by the way) when I managed to get about 10% of my losses back.Would never recommend John Shepherd to anyone who wants a good company to look after their investment. Through their incompetence I lost around £5000 with renovations and loss of rent. Apologies again for the late review. I hope at least one person reads this and decides to go elsewhere.

Before our previous estate agent merged with John Shepard we used to receive regular inspection reports, this is no longer the case since the merge. We were shocked to find the grass 4ft high and full of dandelions and the house filthy when there was a change of tenancy. Were the inspections actually being done?
