I have been a client of Winkworth for many years. I am a landlord. Throughout the time I have been with them. Buy a house from Thomas Syms

I was a first time buyer and a little apprehensive about buying a property. My agent, Thomas Syms, really understood what I was looking for very quickly and was able to suggest some suitable properties. He was also able to suggest some really good properties that were not what I thought I would like but were actually a very pleasant surprise! He has been encouraging and supportive throughout the long process and I was able to complete yesterday. Thomas is approachable and calm and definitely knows his field.

Thomas has been a superstar throughout the first-time buying process!

Thomas has been a great help throughout the process of myself and my partner buying our first home. He's been with us from the very beginning of the purchase process (initial viewing) all the way through to exchange and completion. As first time buyers we didn't really know what to expect from the process, but Thomas has always been on hand to help us (helping with arranging last minute viewings with the seller and guiding us through the entire process). Revisiting this review as I was asked to change my honest review to suit them whilst they got there act together. Renting was not pleasant. The agent we had to deal with was forever changing. Promises failed. By the end of the tenancy Winkworth didn’t know what I had been told previously or have any idea in regards to the keys being handed over. Poor communication in the office maybe? Try and challenge them and you will be told you are rude. But if you complain enough the head of property management will take over and provide all the lip service you need, to get your review changed. I could of gone on for weeks fighting for the correct amount of deposit back (charged for things such a broken lamp that was this way when we moved in or being questioned about a broken shower that had leaks amongst other issues for the whole tenancy) left the property and I imagine it’s still leaking in the en-suite shower room. After this they increased the rent for the next tenants. I have since started to rent through a different local agency. Fairer price, a more personal service and contact with the landlord. I would avoid winkworth. Maybe there sales dept makes up for the customer service but renting, I wouldn’t go back. Photos of the water damaged ceiling and old sofa left for me to dispose of from previous tenant. £1250 per month I’d expect a lot better.NegativeQuality, Value

Nicola at Winkworth Reading was amazing throughout with her proactive aproach and experience. the whole process was made very easy by the winkworth team and all worked in sync which helped a lot. Aaron is totally different from other letting agents. He goes above and beyond to be helpful and works incredibly hard at building relationships with landlord and tenant. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and his team. It is very rare to find someone who goes above and beyond but Aaron does. I'd also like to praise Stanislava for her excellent administration of the process. As a landlord I will definitely be using them again. It is also rare for me to give this much praise but they definitely deserve it. Thank you Winkworth lettings team!

We were really struggling to find a suitable property to rent and WinkWorth came to the rescue. Moving from one city to another is not easy. James, who is the lettings director kindly provisioned a last minute viewing on the same day for us when I phoned him from the train station 2 hours before viewings. Holly is a true star, after giving us a tour of the property listened carefully to our needs and understood our situation, and ensured that we and the landlord are good match and helped us to get an agreement within 10 minutes of us having left the property with a very welcome phone call. I would also like to mention Aoife who acted swiftly when we were told about a missing gas certificate for the property, which could have derailed our moving plans. She made it her top priority and ensured it was all ready and part of the agreement. My only recommendation for improvement is to ensure gas certificates, etc are in place, finding out a couple of nights before that it might not be available caused a slight panic 😉 these can easily be obtained online and don't need a physical copy. I have dealt with a few lettings agents, and WinkWorth definitely come out on top. They're professional, but perhaps their biggest strength is that they don't hesitate, they move fast and get things done really quickly, which is a necessity for tenants.PositiveResponsiveness, Professionalism

After the old tenant completed their long term tenancy contract, keep continuing with Winkworth @Reading for the property management service. The Reading office staffs are very friendly and their services are second to none. There are professional teams with significant area expertise for the property management in terms of admin, tenant relationship and client relationship. I became a client to Winkworth; referred by a friend and of course, that was a good reference. All the staffs in Reading Office are very professional and helpful and they looked after everything as per the expectation. Mike came to view our house, and out of all the agents we saw was the only one who gave us the comfort that he would be actively involved as a leader in the business. More importantly he gave us a no BS valuation that he then immediately followed through on with a plan to get the property sold. We accepted an offer 2-3 weeks after instructing him... exactly what you could want! I was slightly disappointed that Mike didn't follow through on the whole sale but I can appreciate that he has a team for these specific reasons and Faye was an excellent communicator. Any time I needed Mike to step in with difficult solicitors or vendors he did so happily and got things resolved. Great service for the right price, strong recommend.

Trustworth and honest, James and his team are absolutely amazing and by far the best Estate Agents I have ever dealt with. I had my Property up for Let with another agent for over a month with no luck. Winkworth let my property out in less than a week! James went above and beyond to ensure the whole process went as smoothly as possible and the support he provided was incredible. I’ve used Winkworths for many years with no complaints. They found nearly 30 people to go and view my rental property which had been recently renovated and found new tenants very quickly. We rented a property via Winkworth…

We rented a property via Winkworth (Kensal Rise) for a period of almost three years. Fraser and Aaron assisted us with the search for the flat and Michael was our point of contact for all things maintenance and beyond. The process of finding the property at the outset was seamless - Winkworth were excellent. Throughout the three year period, the flat was not without its usual issues (boiler etc). Michael was a dependable contact and took responsibility for gaining the relevant consents/approvals from the landlord/lady and subsequently ensured service providers completed the work to schedule and with minimal disturbance. He really did make the renting process so much easier.Finally, when we wanted to depart from the flat, Aaron ensured that our interests were considered and was the point of contact between us and the landlord/lady. Through great management, we were able to come to a mutually beneficial arrangement. Again, Michael also kept us well informed of and was transparent about the departure process. If you are looking for a professional, personable and reliable agent, choose Winkworth (Kensal Rise).

Amazing estate agents

Our home purchase had quite a few blips along the way and both Nicola and Alex were so patient and reassuring throughout. Nicola never stopped pushing the lawyers on our behalf and I honestly don’t think it would have happened without them. I’m not usually the best fan of estate agents but Winkworth seem to be an honest and genuine firm. Nicola and Alex are just simply fantastic. The worst estate agents I've ever rented from

EDIT: Winkworth have asked me to say the branch this took place at, but at one point the managing director used some aggressive tactics to shut us up, and to be honest I want to remain anonymous to Winkworth as they still have my contact details.--I had a terrible experience with Winkworth when I was renting with them. No matter who it was you were speaking to, you were treated like dirt and felt like the lowest priority. Here are some of the things that happened...I moved in whilst the flat was on a rolling tenancy, so when a new flatmate moved in, the inventory wasn't updated and the flat was never checked for cleanliness when a tenant left. I don't know how standard practice this was, but when we all decided to terminate the tenancy, whoever was carrying out the checkout inspection was looking at photos of a completely different flat - different furniture, different carpets. We successfully appealed when they tried to take some of our deposit.One day, I had a knock on the door and it was some painter decorators who had been booked to decorate all our bedrooms. We didn't receive any notice of this, and had to live in our flat with the paint fumes for the next two days.I lived with two other flatmates, and one of them became very violent and aggressive to us. We suddenly felt very unsafe. The police weren't able to do anything, so we went to Winkworth asking for help, and they just said we'd have to sort it out between the three of us. I'm not sure what the practice is around this, but to just brush us off without even being empathetic to our situation was very upsetting. I asked them if they would only step in once we were in bodybags...!There were many other things that happened during my time with them. I wanted to write about some of my experiences over the years I rented with them to make people aware that they really live up to the typical estate agent stereotypes.

From start to end of tenancy Winkworth's in Kensal Rise were a pleasure to deal with. I’ve recently rented out my property through Winkworth and they’ve made the whole process an absolute breeze. In addition to finding the perfect tenant, my primary contact Charlotte has been incredible and took the stress away from the very start of what I thought was going to be a daunting process. I’ve received what feels like bespoke coaching on how to prepare a property for rental - all of my silly questions have been patiently answered and her proactive approach saved several days during the rental process when I was slow to respond due to other commitments. I’ve recently been a tenant myself in a property managed by a different ‘popular’ lettings/estate agent in Reading and I can already tell that my tenant is going to enjoy a far better experience than what I had… Winkworth have certainly earned my trust.
