I approached Payton Jewell Caines regarding a problem with my property caused by a neighbour’s building works and I dealt with John Caines, since he is also a qualified surveyor. John was impressively responsive and very supportive during this issue, demonstrating understanding of the issue, the effect it was having on my property and the stress it was causing me personally. John kept in regular contact with me and dedicated some of his own time to seeking out further information and communicating with other external agencies to help me get the problem resolved. Thanks to John’s help, an external agency finally became involved and took action to resolve the issue. John continued to maintain regular contact and get updates on the situation and I will not hesitate to contact and use his services again should the need arise. Thank you, John.

Litany of professional failings.

I will use the words of PJC’s Managing Director to write my review. Responding to the litany of failings her employees were responsible for she commented ‘I cannot describe how shocked I feel at what has happened and I offer you my sincerest apologies’. Your email was a tough read and I feel terrible this experience has tainted your view of PJC as I work so very hard to retain our customer service level to a premium. I have requested a meeting with X and will address all of this with her. Her manner is NOT what is trained or expected of any employee and I take a dim view of anyone who blemishes our name. I am not going to address all of your points because I agree with you on all of them. I have no defence other than to say that I will make sure this does not happen to anyone else. In a later email I was told the service was so bad PJC had ‘one member of staff on a final warning’.

I can't praise Catherine and her staff (particularly Rachel) enough for the impressive (to the point of gob-smacking) speed and efficiency with which they sold our home. I knew on meeting Catherine that she was a professional of a very high calibre but we were both surprised and delighted that she managed to find us several potential buyers within the first few days of marketing our property. I would add that her really excellent photographs assisted with this as, having viewed many properties over several years, I appreciate the value of quality images in conveying the best impression to the public. I now recommend PJC to everyone as being by far the best estate agents in South West Wales.

Well what can I say about PJC, in particular about the branch manager of Pencoed, Sharon Sturgiss... JUST WONDERFUL and an absolute PLEASURE to have met and deal with. I am buying my first property through PJC and Sharon couldn't have been more helpful and has made what I have been told can be a very stressful time a very good experience. She has totally gone the extra mile to help me in any way she can and at no point have I ever found her to give the 'hard sell' as I perhaps have done with other estate agents when viewing properties. She has listened to me and taken into account my needs and has treated me as a person and not just somebody she wants to get a sale out of. Still going through the process with the house but it shouldn't be to long now and I can't wait to have her over for some wine! Thanks Sharon and to the rest of the PJC team, I will recommend to others and wouldn't hesitate to use you again in the future :) xxx

We have sold 3 houses with PJC. The first was a bungalow in Pencoed many years ago, in our youth. It sold in 2 days! The 2nd was a house in Park Street Bridgend; it sold within the month and now we are selling our little cottage in Pencoed and guess what ... even in this economic climate, it has sold in 2 days! We had 2 offers within 48 hours!! I think it's because Estate Agency is more than just a job to this team. They really are on the top of their game. The agents obviously love their work and get on so well together. 110% efficient! I wish they could come and sort the rest of my life out, too! :)

Payton Jewell Caines were the "TOPS" when we sold our house and purchased a new one. We dealt with Sharon from the Pencoed Office and she was Heaven Sent.
