I'm not one to write reviews, but felt obliged to in this case. PJC have been dishonest about the condition of properties, even after damning survey results set out specific issues. I shared my £500 survey in full with the estate agent (which showed 'movement and poor workmanship throughout') on the basis they would use it to reflect the advert and be transparent about the property's condition in order to avoid people like myself wasting money, but they failed to honour that agreement. The branch manager, (Annaline) also claimed that drainage under a property not being water tight wasn't a problem (despite a survey revealing signs of movement as a result of that). I don't expect them to be experts but that basic lack of knowledge is concerning. A survey on a different property I expressed an interest in revealed it required a new roof, and when a buyer pulled out, they made no mention of that on the advert - they simply added the line, 'sold as seen' (anyone would think they were selling a table with a wonky leg on Facebook Marketplace). They also seem to have been listing properties they've already sold, possibly to gain more clients (the minute one is uploaded, I'm told via phone that it's already been sold, so it's something beyond 'high demand'). Despite some staff being a credit to the company, the overall approach made it a very disappointing experience. Transparency is key and can save everyone time and money.

My husband and I chose to sell our home through PJC as we liked their no-nonsense, friendly professionalism from the outset and didn't feel like we were being subject to a hard sell. The marketing was fast and high quality and we sold our house to our first viewers. Unfortunately the chain collapsed (through NO fault of PJC whatsoever) and they remarketed and resold our house within a couple of weeks. The communication and support from PJC has been a godsend, during what can be such a stressful and challenging time. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend PJC and should we ever look to move again (not too soon we hope!) we will 100% use PJC again. Excellent experience with Payton Jewell Caines so far, we are only in the very early stages of purchasing a property, but so far we have been so impressed. We have had some bad experiences previously and really lost hope with ever being able to buy our first house together! however this all changed when we met Sharon at a property that she helped us fall in love with. The greeting we received was amazing and everything was so well explained and Sharon put us at ease straight away. The communication has been second to none, the reassurances throughout what is a stressful process has made this so much easier. I would 100% recommend anyone to view and purchase properties marketed by PJC because you won't be disappointed. PJC have been fantastic - sold our house within 24 hours and they took every opportunity to take pressure off during house selling/buying, even when things went a bit wrong due to COVID! I cannot thank the team in the Pencoed Office enough, especially Sharon, Nicola and Helen. They have all provided a first-class service and their professionalism is nothing but exemplary. From the start to the end of the process their constant support and effort they put into getting me the best deal, whilst clearly still put the needs of the buyer in place did not appear to waiver. They worked all hours to accommodate myself when it came to viewings and would also provide feedback, whatever the time to ensure that I was kept up to date with everything. They have also supported my sons and have shown them the same service when buying and selling their properties, continuing to go above and beyond to ensure all our needs were met.
