Initial dealings where ok but now 11 weeks into the sale of our house and communication is totally non existent, i have to do all the chasing. 2 weeks before due to complete and i find out that one of the chain (who John Francis are also dealing with) has not completed there searches so move date is now off indefinitely, the info came from our buyer not a single word from John Francis despite me making several calls and sending emails. I was under the impression that the commission you pay was for the estate agent to chase the process through to the end, i was wrong, all i got was a valuation and a for sale board. Deeply disappointed.

Beware........

Whether a buyer or a landlord with a tenant there really is no difference. They hide behind the company, their colleagues, their associates at Countrywide along with a list of tricks to assure you they are acting in your best interests including the hardsell of their financial advisor too. Disgraceful. Occasionally, you'll speak to someone who really sounds like they want to help you but then the buck is passed back and forwards. Seriously, avoid unless you are related to someone there who will guide you properly.

Recently bought our home through John Francis in Pontardawe, and have bithing but praise for all of the staff who work in the branch. Every phonecall and email was answered with professionalism and friendliness even when we had some problems with our solicitors, and we were made to feel welcome with every communication. All staff appeared enthusiastic, and every single one seemed to go that extra mile from first communication until last. Highly recommend for anyone wishing to purchase a property 😊

We recently had dealings with John Francis Estate Agents through the process of purchasing our forever home. The service they provided from start to finish was nothing but professional and friendly! On each occasion we had cause to speak with the company with whatever query we had staff always did their best to resolve and alleviate any issue! We dealt mostly with Kayley who I have to say is a massive credit to the company and John Francis should be honoured to have her as a part of their team! Almost as if they don’t want to sell any properties???

Rang them weeks ago & left my contact details, as advised by the recorded message. No reply. Tried again today. Got a reply this time. But upon booking a viewing, I was told that they’d only arrange the viewing if I can prove I have a mortgage in place for the value. So they expect me to go through a mortgage application, which affects my credit score. During a time where rates are dropping regularly, so it’s best to hold off until you definitely need one. For a property that I haven’t even viewed yet, let alone decided I want to make an offer? Which leads to the next fact of no price agreed to even know an amount to borrow? What happens if I decide I don’t like the property? I would’ve gone through all that effort & lowered my credit rating for nothing. When I do finally find a new house & move out. I definitely won’t be selling my existing house through them. They won’t let hardly anyone view it, to be able to make any offers. No wonder the property I wanted to view has been on the market so long.

Bad, bad, bad.

Just changed to a different agent to sell our house because John Francis in Swansea have let us down so badly. Slow, inaccurate, unreliable, garbled, uncommunicative, discourteous. Not just our own experience either - two different estate agents for houses we were interested in buying remarked to us that John Francis were hard to get hold of and then didn't seem to know the situation with our property and gave them wrong information. So, so disappointed and wish we'd heeded the early warning signs months ago. I'd very strongly advise avoiding this agent at all costs.

Avoid like the plague

Absolutely terrible experience with these estate agents. Viewed a property and gave an offer. They made out that we were the only one's who had put in an offer and that it would most likely be accepted. We received no correspondence and whenever I called it would go straight to voicemail. When I finally got in contact with them they made up some excuse that they couldn't get hold of the owners of the property. This carried on for weeks and weeks. Eventually I found out from another person interested in the property that it had been sold to someone else. Avoid these estate agents like the plague. My time has been well and truly wasted!

Been trying to contact this company vai emails and phone calls over the last 2 weeks.no reply via emails,finally got through onced they'd switched they're answer phone off,and arranged a preliminary time for an viewing on the Wednesday,lady saying she would get back to me that day to confirm,no response,then had a call out pv the blue late on Friday saying that the time for the appointment had been changed,didn't know I had an appointment,as the appointment was for the next day,and had arranged other plans ,so had to cancel THEYRE appointment,had lots of dealings with estate agents and in my opinion this is the worst one I have come across.

Left waiting for an hour and a half to view a property

After calling to enquire about a property of interest I was deflected with an offer to view a "similar property" in the same area within the next hour. I quickly accepted and left work early making the 35min drive to the town. I arrived a few mins early and was greeted by another prospective viewer, we were both confused, it seems they double booked. I called up the agency after 10 mins of no show and couldn't get hold of anyone. I then waited and attempted to call again and again, eventually they informed me there had been a problem and could I wait 45 mins. I accepted went and got a coffee and viewed the initial property from the outside before heading back at the agreed time. Only to be told (after more unanswered phone calls) of even more delays and they would be with me shortly (spoilers: they weren't). Another half hour went by of being "just around the corner getting the keys" before the agent showed up. The property itself was in a terrible location and the agent even had the temerity to suggest we move forward with a holding fee for the property. Will not be using again.

John Francis estate agent. Pontardawe branch.Extremely unprofessional. I called on 18/04/2023 around 11.30am and booked a viewing for a 3 bed detached house for sale-Gorsafle, Ystradgynlais, Powys SA9, all details were taken name surname phone number email address home address etc, booked for 19/04/2023 at 4.30 pm, arrived 10 min early front of the above property I have waited until 4.45pm and no one from the agency arrived then I have called the branch after several calls they pick up the phone explained the situation and they told me that no viewing was booked and try to book me in for Friday 21/03/2023 and again took my details over the phone spelling my name 4 times and the lady keep asking me to repeat again and again and she never manages to confirm my name correctly, I travel 40 miles to view this property and spend time and petrol money. THIS IS Awful service but sadly expected, poor communication skills. Will not be recommending them to anyone.

This was an important move to get right, downsizing to something more manageable in later life. I needn't have worried as the staff; a special mention for both Zac and Rachel, have been incredibly helpful. Recently bought house through John Francis Pontardawe and agents were great with all the procedures but sometimes updates were not as quick as I would have hoped. I had to ring the office to get updates but this could be due to the extreme business in the market currently. Overall good estate agents.
