All the staff at Lang Town and Country especially Carla, Becky, Natalie and Toby have been so helpful in assisting us with the sale of our property and keeping us informed throughout the selling process. This was made a bit more challenging with the time difference and having the property tenanted as we live in Australia. Very bad experience as a tenant

My experience with Lang Town & Country has been both stressful & traumatic. Considering I entered into a tenancy contract which had been advertised as a long term let, only to be told 4 months in that the Landlord was selling the property. I was given 8 weeks to move out. Understandably this is out of Langtown & Country's hands. However, they chose to make the end-of-tenancy process extremely difficult. I spent an entire weekend cleaning the property only to be told a few weeks later that they intended on deducting £390 from my deposit for various different things. I contested the charges & they agreed these were unfair (Interesting that they would have happily deducted even more money had I not disputed this). However, they still attempted to deduct £180 on a cleaning fee with the main point of contention being "dust".After many emails back & forth, I concluded that we would not find a solution and I took my dispute to the Tenancy Deposit Scheme and won the case. Below is a direct quote from the impartial TDS officer. "A landlord is not entitled to betterment and must allow for fair wear and tear, although the latter does not apply to cleaning. The check-out report has been completed on the 3 June 2024; The information that I have been provided with states that the tenancy ended on the 9 May 2024. As the check-out report was completed almost a month after the tenancy ended and the invoice forwarded shows a clean done a few weeks after that, I no longer find them to be a reliable report of the standard of cleanliness of the property at the end of the tenancy. Based on the evidence, I am unable to make an award to the landlord."Be cautious if you decide to rent through Lang Town & Country. In a rental market where honest tenants, who pay their rent on time, are already burdened with high costs, it’s expected that letting agents provide fair service and support. Unfortunately, this was not my experience. Lang Town & Country attempted to unfairly charge additional fees, even after asking me to leave just four months into what was marketed as a long-term let. Instead of offering protection and transparency, they seemed more focused on extracting as much money as possible.

We bought our house through Lang Town & Country, completing on 28th November. We also sold through them. As a former estate agent I can highly recommend all the staff in the Plymstock Office who dealt with us efficiently, timely and answered all our questions. They dealt with all stages of the selling and buying, assisting us to co-ordinate both with our vendors, purchasers, surveyors and solicitors. Whilst selling and buying a house are inherently stressful, they made it as seamless as is possible - and the bottle of bubbly on completion was a lovely added touch. Whilst we never want to sell our home, if and when we do, we will give them our repeat business.

We put our house on the market in January in a particularly uncertain time, yesterday we moved into our new house! The process (apart from yesterday - moving day is always pretty intense) was completely stress free. Contracts and agreements between estate agent and customer are black and white, nothing is hidden. All of the staff are so helpful and approachable and will consistently go the extra mile all of the time for you. They show a genuine interest in getting you a great result on your property and when compared to other agents in the area who just flaunt their sales figures at you as a ploy to hook you in the decision as to who we wanted to market our house with was easy. Holly is awesome nothing more to be said, she is able to achieve results under immense pressure. She de-conflicted miscommunication between solicitors who seemed to lose their page quite easily and made our exchange and completion happen within a 2 hour window! When the legal people from the house we were buying failed to organise themselves properly, essentially she didn’t need to do the solicitors job for them but that is what happened, she went above and beyond for us as the customer! It’s no secret that house moving is complicated and stressful. The sale of our old house and purchase of the new one took a little while since January but yesterday we moved in to our new house! I can honestly say we have been so impressed with the service provided by LT&C, the team will go above and beyond to achieve a result for you all the time. Contracts and service agreements are completely black and white nothing is hidden from you as the customer. Huge huge thank you to Holly, who is so efficient and approachable. She ended up doing most of the solicitors work for them yesterday as although they are very clever people communication between all parties can be a huge problem. Holly was able to handle immense pressure from all parties and problem solved to such a high standard that our exchange and completion went through in less than 2 hours. Lang Town and Country were a fantastic estate agent to deal with from start to finish, and far out shone all other agents I interacted with throughout my long and drawn out sale and purchase process. Every member of their staff were professional, friendly and respectful. Their processes were swift, efficient and proactive. I never had to chase them once, for anything. They got my purchase transaction over the line very promptly, a very different experience than I'd had with another agent on a property purchase that fell through (and that I lost money on). Overall a much better experience than I'd had with multiple other agents during my 12 month journey. I wish I'd also sold with them and absolutely would go to them if I ever decide to sell in future. They even gave me a welcome gift and house warming card which was the icing on the cake of a great experience. Thank you to all at Lang Town and Country. 😊
