TrustpilotNot good at making contact
My mortgage company Halifax, appointment this company to do the legal work for my mortgage. I appreciate my mortgage is rather complex. However, when I phone, they are as nice as can be & say everything is ready, just needs!!!... Signing or whatever. I'll get that posted out, 3/4 days later phone again, oh ok I'll resend or can I email it to you.I say "Email will be great", still waiting..... Someone needs to take charge & keep in contact, at the moment I have waited over 3 months & still waiting. Send u a link for a mortgage tracker, still stuck at 20% completion. That's no use for my mortgage they say. So why send the link? Not impressed, I'll phone the bank in the morning.

TrustpilotOverall a positive experience from start to finish
Selling through Aberdein Considine was a positive experience. They listened and understood our requirements and the team are friendly and professional. The whole process ran smoothly from start to finish with one very minor hiccup when our buyers showed up unannounced to measure for carpets. This wasn’t a problem in the end as we were at home and it gave us an opportunity to meet them. We would buy/sell through Aberdein Considine again.

TrustpilotHouse sale in Scotland with Aberdein Considine was surprisingly very straight forward
Something always goes wrong with a house sale, even the most simple one. But having gone through a sale in Scotland and a purchase in England, the house sale in Scotland with Aberdein Considine was surprisingly very straight forward.. Wish it was that easy in England, where from the start it has been nothing but trouble. 4 stars instead of 5... well it would be great if they also covered England so we could avoid the trouble we've been having here and use one solicitor for everything.

TrustpilotCurrent victim of theirs
Current victim of theirs, they prefer the term “client”. Buying a flat through them, entry date was yesterday. They hounded me for weeks for my mortgage details. Turned out the bank couldn’t issue them because the seller didn’t want to pay for an updated home report. This went on for over a month. Last Wednesday I threatened to withdraw my offer if it wasn’t with my bank by the end of that day. Obviously this delay has meant my entry date - which they chose, not me, was missed. I now have to pay double removal fees, storage fees & book into a hotel, my landlord has someone moving in here next week & wants the keys back - so I’m going to be out of pocket by about £1000 - £1500.

TrustpilotThank you to the team - Jordan, Jamie, Kelsey, Katy etc!
A very positive, quick experience in selling our property. Proactive approach to selling which included contacting prospective buyers from property which had sold next door to ours. Updated consistently and ultimately a lot less stressful than we thought. Very handy to have email communication but they were not shy in picking up the phone either. Thanks to everyone!

TrustpilotSale and purchase of New home.
I have nothing but respect for all of the staff who guided me through the process of selling my house and buying a new one. They showed competence, knowledge and professionalism with respect to the housing market.they alleviated me of any anxiety that I had during a quiet spell in the market, but pulled out all the stops in the end so that I had a satisfactory conclusion.

I was absolutely staggered by the high level of service, all the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. I really can't recommend this firm too highly. I live hundreds of miles from the property I was selling, and the agent took all the stress away from what were tricky circumstances.

I contacted Aberdein Considine to handle my sale and onward purchase. They managed to get my house on the market within a tight time frame, one staff member Jordan even worked late from home to meet my dead line put on me from my onward purchase solicitors. They were good at keeping me updated in the beginning. I utilised their mortgage advising service as well. We has Krysia and she was really helpful and knowledgeable. My property was under offer within 24 hours of it going on the market, they managed to get in contact for all viewing etc. Quickly and managed viewer's expectations as I am a shift worker. My only criticism is the day I was to hand my keys over and receive my keys I didn't hear from the solicitors all morning. I felt as if I was left in limbo. I'd been trying to contact them via phone and email. I eventually got contact about 12pm so not too long just felt longer when you're sitting in a removal van.

TrustpilotTerrible
Terrible, had to call 3 different numbers before someone could help me with some forms. They sent a welcome pack in the post which never arrived, so I had to chase them for an email copy (not sure why they didn't do that in the first place). Took them forever to send the next lot of forms so now I will have to pay second property stamp duty all because they don't care. Find a local independent solicitor, avoid these like the plague.

TrustpilotVery smooth and quick process
We were put in touch by a friend (and had a positive experience with a different branch years ago) and, from the initial chat with Krysia to purchase and sale with Kirsty, Devon and Jamie, each element of the process was smooth and easy. I really can’t fault any of it and was amazed how quickly we had a buyer.

GoogleAberdein Considine provided us with a very professional and friendly service during the recent sale and purchase of our houses. We were kept informed at all stages by email, only needing to make the trip to the Perth office twice.
From start to finish, we were confident that our best interests were being served. We will definitely use Aberdein Considine again.

My experience with AC was reassuring and friendly. The team were approachable and understanding. I was retiring and looking to move closer to town and rail links. They guided me through the whole process with patience and sound advice about the selling of my property.

TrustpilotProbably the Worst to Re-mortgage with
They are awful. Exceptionally slow for basic transactions (and BEWARE they make time-consuming omissions), communication is particularly lacking - their website has lots of flashy soundbites: "Our aim is to respond to all emails within 3 working hours" however the reality is that it took them 30 DAYS to respond to my email and, even then, it was not an answer - just an acknowledgement that they had received it! They also "claim" to have an "online portal" so that you can track the progress of your re-mortgage "no matter what coffee shop (etc) you are in"! They might actually have an "online portal" but it is not for customers to access - my multiple emails were ignored and when you 'phone to attempt to get the elusive login - the staff lie to you: twice their reply was: "it will be emailed to you in the next 5 minutes"! After 2 months of trying, I gave up! In hindsight I wish I had paid for a competent solicitor firm to deal with my re-mortgage.

GoogleHaving just moved from England to Scotland I rented a property managed by Aberdein Considine. As independent estate agents are not regulated by the council (my daughter rents through PKC and never had any issues with the flat or the landlord) agency really has no interest if the rental property is in a suitable condition to be rented out or not. Maintenance issues are handled incredibly slowly and with out care. I raised issues with the fact out of the 3 radiators in the property only 1 worked (just) and the kitchen window would simply fall out if it wasn’t secured by the flimsy latch causing a massive hazard, safety issue. Both bedroom windows couldn’t be closed correctly and seals had perished beyond use. The state of the property upon moving in it was clear it hadn’t been cleaned at all before I got there, and I don’t mean just a bit of dust! I had been in the property for about 10 days when I got round to informing Aberdein Considine about the issues (beginning of September) I was told someone would come out to measure the windows which they did after about a week and I was told it would take a month to replace...fast forward to November and still no communication! I then decided enough was enough! No help or communication, spending a huge amount of money to keep the property warm due to lack of suitable radiators, I searched online what I could do.
By law every landlord has to comply with certain regulations in order to rent out premises. Property has to be waterproof, wind and draft proof and with working gas and electricity. Also any windows have to be secure and also in good working condition so you can air the premises and also avoid condensation. And all fixes and repairs are to be carried out in a reasonable time. The property I was renting out for 3 months since September 2020 (I have since moved out) was drafty, cold, electric heaters not working, windows falling out of the frame. All that the agency was able to do for me was to assure that it will be fixed some time in January. That’s 5 months after notifying the agency of the maintenance issues.
Staff also not very pleasant to deal with, very arrogant. Does not accept accountability.

GoogleThank you to the team at Aberdein Considine for efficient service and marketing. The marketing was UK wide and this certainly helped with the sale of our property. We were really impressed with the virtual video and photos. With regular updates from the office staff we were kept fully informed as the sale was progressing. A thank you to the legal team who managed to get the sale through in a very quick and efficient manner.
The efficiency of the whole team made it a pleasure to do business.

TrustpilotI have used AC a couple of times now
I have used AC a couple of times now, buying and selling property. As always, they have been fantastic. From the very professional estate agent Finlay and Jordan to the solicitors Attika and Sean. Even through the pandemic and working from remote areas, I have always been kept up to date, never had to chase them to find out what is happening. Very swift process and with no issues. Very reasonably priced too. Would always recommend them. Thanks to all the team.

Sold our flat and bought a house with Aberdein Considine, and initially they were great. They got the advert on quickly, photos looked good, booked viewings within a week and sold at a price we were happy with. The service from their mortgage advisor was excellent also. However, once they’d secured their commission, the service deteriorated quickly. As this was the first time we had bought and sold at the same time, we thought we could shop around for someone to do conveyancing on our purchase. AC told us we had to use them for both, and assured us it would be easier to have one person managing both the sale and purchase, which made sense. As far as we can tell this was the case until the solicitor who was dealing with us took a holiday. We then had to deal with emails from at least five different people at the firm, who seemed not to communicate with each other at all. The paralegal who was managing our purchase did not even know we were also selling through the same firm!We were sent an incorrect request for funds, when in fact we were due money from them. We had no opportunity to visit the property we were buying after our initial viewing, despite asking and being told we would be able to. Several requests to confirm our moving date were not answered, which meant we had to delay organising time off from work, movers etc. much later than we were comfortable with. At every turn in our purchase we experienced unnecessary stress, which was entirely avoidable.
