GoogleDo not recommend. They do not assess properties before putting them for rent, the letting agency didn't even check if the heating in the property was working before letting it. They've only begun to take action on the heating after 2 months of complaining. They do not respond to emails unless you send multiple emails, extremely unprofessional. 2 months into me complaining about the heating, they send me temporary electric heaters, no compensation whatsoever while I have to bare the cost of the electric heating. I've had to call engineers myself to assess the situation with the heating in my house, when I sent the survey to them - they ignored it outright and continue to "try" and fix the heating with solutions that have proven to not work only to waste everyones time while I live in the cold weather of Glasgow with no heating or hot water. AVOID.
Update: it's now been almost 4 months and my heating issue still hasn't been resolved. All of the agents who work in the company have now been a part in resolving this issue and none of them communicate in a timely manner. First, they ignored the complaint of no heating, now they're ignoring my emails when I'm asking for updates. Macleod has let a property to a tenant without checking if basic things like heating in the flat works or not. GoogleUnprofessional! Would not reply in a timely manner even when handling personal and sensitive information.
Wouldn’t respond to emails after requesting me and my wife’s personal details. Had to keep chasing them for a reply. Later, after promising a flat viewing, they wrote a last minute email to cancel because an acquaintance of the landlord was applying to the property and they preferred them instead.

Communications are always good. They have a good pool of contractors, ensuring that maintenance items are dealt with timeously. The online portal is very handy, as you can access information 24hrs a day. 3rd time using tenant finder services as a landlord which include dealing with all the tenant vetting checks and contracts. (Used macleod based on recommendation from my father who uses for all his properties after personally having awful experiences with others in the industry)
Each time I’ve been very impressed with how quickly suitable tenants are found and how long the tenants have stayed for with peace of mind also provided through the checks performed on the tenants in advance. They ensured my latest responsibilities as a landlord were known/fulfilled and provided contacts to other services where required including inventory, electrician, home improvement tradesmen. Helen in particular went above and beyond to help market the property by dressing it ahead of it being photographed/ viewings which was greatly appreciated.

GoogleThis agent really expect the tenant to do everything, including paid referencing credit check by yourselves for them. After spending hours try to do that myself, and waiting for around a week, they told me I cannot rent the property because I am student, even paying 6/12 months of rent upfront. If they should tell me that at first, like all other agencies, I wouldn't bother viewing it in the first place. There are four potential tenants during the viewing, all seemed very interested in renting. But one week later, after I offered them an interest, they refused me and I found the they/landlord have to reduce the rent by 50 pounds further per month in the advertisement. I recommend all landlords and tenants to keep clear from them to avoid losing money.

They worked efficiently and professionally during the viewing, referencing and check in phases. Once, I had pumbing issues to which they promptly answered and sent a contractor over. GoogleI thoroughly recommend Macleod lettings. Between 2015 and 2017 I was a tenant in one of the properties they managed, and my experience was very positive indeed. From the beginning they were professional, polite, helpful and above all, organised. I really appreciate the pragmatic and efficient approach used by Macleod, as it made everything very painless and easy.
From my experience with them, it is abundantly clear that not only are they competent and effective, but they also care about the experience their clients receive, be they the tenant or the landlord. Throughout my tenancy I had very few issues in general, however when things did break, they were promptly fixed. When legislation was updated, appropriate changes were made.
Having heard horror stories from friends about other letting agents, I was very grateful to have never experienced these with Macleod lettings. I can honestly say that I would recommend them to anyone looking to rent or let out a property.

Molly, thank you for your review, however it would appear we need to set some of the facts straight. Firstly, when you vacated the property back in October 2017, everything was left on very amicable terms, so we’re unsure what has lead you to leave a negative review, 4 months later. Although the circumstances where the landlord had to move back into the property were unfortunate for all parties concerned, the landlord dealt with you direct so that the transition could be as smooth and stress free for you as possible. When you vacated the property, your full deposit was returned to you, as well as being gifted 2 brand new mattresses from the landlord, provided with funds to cover the cost of moving and most recently around £250 to cover the cost of the Virgin contract which you took out when you moved into the property, all of which were gestures of goodwill. Whilst we acknowledge the circumstances were less than ideal, these were out of ours and the landlords control and you were catered for and have in fact financially gained from the situation. This makes your comments “complete waste of time and money” lose a little of its integrity.
We see that you have requested that some of your friends have also left us negative reviews and it’s worth noting that Google’s guidelines for reviews are as follows:
-Don’t spam or post fake reviews intended to lower ratings
-Post clear, valuable and honest information
