Avoid buying from this developer

Avoid buying from this developer. We bought our house nearly 3 years ago and the development is still unfinished… construction site in the middle of the plot… roads unfinished… and now we have found that development is halted due to contaminated land, as they decided not to carry out proper checks. We are unable to sell our house now as no one would be able to get a mortgage to buy it… Please choose another developer and save your money and sanity!

My partner and I moved to Sherford in…

My partner and I moved to Sherford in June 2022 after purchasing a Bovis home. After 2 months of moving in 2 of the clauses in the transfer were broken and Bovis didn’t care at all. We have a fence on our driveway which isn’t supposed to be there in accordance with the transfer and it restricts us that much we can’t get our baby boy out the car. I have now been chasing the customer care team for the last 7 months and it is now effecting my remortgage. Paul Brodie the customer care manager has said the legal team can’t deal with a covenance due to a response they had. I was supposed to receive a phone call from their director Emma Warden-Nevins and never received that phone call. They created these clauses to protect us when we buy these houses and I feel we have bought this house under false pretences and completely left in the dark. Our house is now struggling to get a remortgage and it has effected the value of the property because the transfers have been broken.

Countryside Bella Wood site - positive experience

Countryside made my experience very easy. I mean, the team is professional and kind at all times. As a result, everything goes smoothly and gets sorted quickly. I would recommend Countryside - Bella Wood view site to anyone who is looking to purchase a new dream home. Thanks a lot. :-)

I refer to my recent interest in a house at Duttons Fields. I received clear information via telephone and email. Nothing was too much trouble and I received very detailed plans of the plot along with what was and wasn't included and I think a reservation fee of £99 is fair. The team I spoke to were polite, accomodating and very helpful at all times.

Fantastically Helpful Sales Team Service

We have not yet completed so can only comment on the Sales team experience so far. We're buying on Wilson Chase in Roby. Anne and Tara have been fantastic. Always available for questions, really proactive with build updates and keep their promises when they commit to researching things for you. Still a 'watch this space. on completion and aftersales care, but I've been impressed so far.

Wouldn’t recommend buying from this builder.Expect issues with a new build however there is no customer service team in place to rectify anything.Every time you chase an issue/snag fix it’s ‘not on the system’ or ‘has been lost as the customer service team were changed over’. 2 years I’ve been in the new house and my drive was torn up with no reasoning, 2 weeks later it’s not been relaid, called for an answer and they’ve got nothing on record which is concerning.

This company are beginning a new development in Paddock Wood in Kent, building on a flood plain. The first thing that they have done is completely RIP out and destroy an entire line of ancient oak trees which were home to dormice which are supposed to be protected. This has been picked up by the national press but nothing will bring back all the trees destroyed.

Countryside - DON'T BUY FROM THEM

I have a new build shared ownership property built by Countryside, purchased in 2021. I can only say that this was the worst decision I have ever made. The quality of the build has been dire going way beyond the usual 'snagging issues'. The after service is absolutely dreadful and they really don't care once they've been paid. 18 months after moving into our 'new home', we still have outstanding issues that have not been rectified. The build finish is of poor quality once you start to look closely. If you are in a position to take time to research builders, I would recommend that you do this but, take my advice, don't buy a property built by Countryside. Take a look at the reviews, they are all saying the same thing.

Developer ignores precondition so we now have no planning permission

I am writing this review as I am sure other residents have who are deeply dissatisfied with the conduct of Countryside Partnerships in the development of our community. We have been experiencing numerous issues with the developer's behavior and the impact of their development, and we feel that our concerns have not been addressed properly.Despite being warned by the council that their actions were at their own risk, Countryside Partnerships has continued with the development, ignoring preconditions and causing significant disruption to our community. We have written to various organizations, including the Environmental Law Foundation and the Home Builders Federation, to seek support and possible legal advice, because so far, we have not received satisfactory answers from Countryside Partnerships. We have also been disappointed with the lack of care and duty of care shown by Countryside Partnerships towards us as residents. They have failed to answer our questions properly. We are particularly concerned that they keep referring to the 5-star rating awarded by the Home Builders Federation and the gold award for customer satisfaction supposedly given by In-house Research as if these were assurances of quality and customer care. However, we have serious doubts about how these awards are awarded and have seeked clarification as we believe that a developer who as the council office put it commits a clear breach can be awarded such awards if it is based on the quality and reputation of the developer. We have now decided to raise a claim with the NHBC and written to the consumer code for home builders, and we are asking for their help in this matter. We also request that they conduct their own independent tests to verify the quality and safety of the development. We believe that this is necessary to ensure that we can live in a safe and healthy environment, and that we can trust the developers to act responsibly and with integrity. However NHBC has advised some of our residents that You cannot claim or seek our assistance under this policy or for anything resulting from the builder failing to get planning permission, or failing to build in line with planning permission meaing the NHBC insurance wont be valid if the builder is neglegent. When you purchase a new home this is not something you expect to have to worry about and you have to trust that a company who whole existance is to build houses would do so professionally. We have spoken to our solicitor who assisted us to purchase the home and they have advised all checks and searches were done because on a new build the developer declares that all is ok following any preconditions being completed. This has been widely reported in the media, including the BBC and the Daily Mail. You can find the article by searching "countryside crewe daily mail"Overall, we are deeply dissatisfied with the conduct of Countryside Partnerships and the lack of support and protection we have received as residents. We hope that by sharing our experience, we can raise awareness of the issues we are facing and prompt action from the relevant authorities and organizations. We urge anyone considering buying a property from this developer to proceed cautiously and seek independent advice and information before making any decision.

Purchased a three bedroom house from…

Purchased a three bedroom house from Countryside Partnerships. From day one we had issues with our shower leaking into the living room ceiling. We had around six different engineers attend all of whom said there was an issue, took photos, said they would report to the office to follow-up. We dealt with someone called Jess at the office who every time we called always said ‘I’ll get back to you by the end of the day’ or ‘I’m just going into a meeting with my manager and I’ll call you back’ obviously every time she said this, we never ever heard back. We spent so much time phoning, emailing and chasing her for feedback. It took nine months to get our issues resolved. The customer service is a joke, absolute rubbish and the team tell you so many fibs to fob you off. We have an ongoing issue with our kitchen flooring where our table and chairs are. Countryside said they would not repair this due to us using the area for our chairs, we cannot understand their reasoning as our table and chairs are in the dining area. Again a few engineers attended all saying the flooring is not stuck down properly but they still didn’t repair it and of course our warranty is now ended. The house is lovely and we’re happy here but don’t expect help from Countryside as they just don’t care about their customers.

Terrible customer service.

I purchased a flat from Countryside. Within 1.5 years the whole flat roof needs work and I have water leaking into my main bedroom, which has meant that I can't sleep in there and I have had to turn off the electrics and sleep on the floor in my only other bedroom which is an office. It has been two weeks now, and they still have not fixed it or even attempted to. They haven't temporarily sorted alternative accommodation or sealed the leak. After calling and emailing every day for two weeks we still have not had a solution. Terrible customer service and badly built.

Dont buy

The day we moved in the house was not clean and the pipes under the sink were not even connected, a bucket of rubbish and spare pipes were still there. Loads of snags that after 2 years are not fixed. The heaters were not working when we moved in and so far it’s not great. Garden has no use, not been levelled, my son had a fall because of that and injured his head. One month after we moved in we had a major leak, 6 weeks in a hotel with a baby, they moved out furniture out to fix the house and destroyed everything, brand new sofa full of stains, the house was not fixed to good standards and we never been compensated for the contents. After that we had 2 other minor water leaks. Lastly I was luck to be able to smell the gas that night, coz we had a gas leak under the cooker. Just don’t buy

DO NOT BUY A FLAT FROM THIS COMPANY.

DO NOT BUY A FLAT FROM THIS COMPANY.I bought my first flat at their Clapton Common development last year. Since them there have been nothing but problems which are not dealt with in a satisfactory manner. My washing machine flooded the hallway ans the out of hours emergency number said "they couldn't help". We've had no heating with took weeks to fix, I'm on my third shower head, had to have my underfloor heating controls moved and fixed, a leak in the ulitity fixed, the door is CONSTANTLY broken and ive gotten locked out overnight.BUT putting all of that aside my main issue is how the residents are treated my the Customer Service team. They are rude, unresponsive, forget issues and gaslight you into thinking you are being unreasonable.DO NOT BUY FROM THEM

Cheap and rushed finish to the property

Absolutely gutted and so disappointed to have purchased our property that has been built by this developer, the layout and design of the house is lovely but the finish is absolutely atrocious. Plaster falling off walls, carpets that don’t fit, cracking tiles in the bathroom shower and non of the defect getting fixed as the developer claiming they are cosmetic or just point blank ignoring the issue, their after sales service is non existent. Avoid if you can

From start to finish they was awful to deal with and get in contact with. Not one check was done properly on the property when I moved in with the back door broken waiting 6 hours for someone to come and fix it the day I lived in with all my stuff. Took months for them to send someone to the house when I pointed an anything wrong. Lied constantly throughout the agreement and when I left made up so many charges to try and keep my deposit where I have just been given back part of my deposit 10 months after I moved out. I would avoid moving in to any property which countryside are involved with at all cost due to how bad they was for the year I lived in one of there properties. The company are full of liars and they will try and keep your deposit. Not once did they try and give it back it was me fighting for it. I also left the property in better condition than when I moved in. 1 star is very generous towards the company.

Don’t buy new build from Countryside Partnerships

I had high hopes for Countryside Partnerships, but unfortunately, they have not lived up to my expectations. Despite numerous attempts to get them to fix the snagging issues after buying their new build, they have failed to follow up and make the necessary repairs. It already took half a year and is unacceptable that a builder would neglect their responsibilities in this way, and it has left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I urge anyone considering buying their new builds to think twice before entrusting them with their project. It's clear that they do not prioritize their customers' satisfaction or take pride in their work.

Parking space blocked, smashing fire doors, no replies

We bought the last flat on Chipping Barnet Brook Valley Gardens development and here are our current problems:1-They rushed us to pay all the money, but did not allow us for a home tour to see and mark the snags before moving in. Instead, we have been dealing with the bits and pieces for the past 1.5 months instead of enjoying our flat since nobody checked them properly although they had our exact moving in date.2-Our parking spot is out of use since the day we moved in and nobody told us that before we moved in. It has been surrounded by fencing although the sales manager said it was going to be opened by the first week of February. - Deadlines mean nothing to them and they just do not care about how you deal with these news. Are you having an expensive car? Just park it outside. Stolen? Not their problem. Why am paying a service charge then?3-We live right next to the fire doors and they are super heavy. Some neighbours do not know how to close them silently by using a knob and our windows shatter. No signs on the doors at all or nobody is sending an internal email. You can wake up at 5 am with a door smash. 4-No emails or updates like other developers do in every few weeks. No communication. I have been waiting for more than a week for solutions. The Problems we had throughout the mortgage process:1-The sales office put the flat back on the market without letting us know when we were going through the mortgage process. No emails, no calls, nothing. We accidentally found this out online. The sales office is a partnership with a different company and they never apologised for the stress they have caused.2-They did not exchange the flat on the agreed date and they decided to relay the whole decking and asked for 2-3 more days and did not compensate the amount we lost due to these delays. If you want to live with stress and chase people and feel like you are doing their job, buy from Countryside. If not, pick a different developer for your piece of mind.
