Another estate agent very badly messed up the launch of our house onto the market, but John D Wood managed to recover the situation and secure two good offers (in a slightly sticky market) within a couple of months. Due mainly to our buyers' solicitor, the sale then progressed slowly and with difficulty, requiring much patience, perseverance and problem-solving by the whole team at JDW and Annie in particular. As it turned out, more lateral thinking and excellent deal-making by Annie meant that we ended up buying (off-market) through JDW as well. Despite it all being hugely complicated and problematic, the sale and purchase got done in the end which probably wouldn't have been the case without the talents and above-and-beyond efforts of JDW/Annie. We are extremely grateful to them and thankful that we chose to move to them after our disastrous experience with the agent we chose initially.

The wonderful team at John D. Wood made our idyllic home in Oxford possible! From the first moment, they were responsive and observant of every last detail. While we were house hunting from the US, Jackie gave us Skype tours of the house, answered every question, helped us through all the details of letting, and advocated for us as tenants. Throughout our year, Carol looked after us and responded immediately to every question or issue we had. They made us feel valued and cared for at every turn. I had a very negative experience with John D Wood agency. They are not looking after the future tenant at all (they call "client" only the landlord) and for them it is normal to provide a flat in not good conditions just because it is not a new property. In my experience they are just looking for the money but have no interest in satisfying the request of the future tenant or provide a flat of high standards. Finally, please be advise that the pictures on the website are taken by professionals and, in my opinion, do not really show the real conditions of the place. I would really suggest to do not use them and refer to other agencies.

Poor experience

As a landlord, I cannot recommend this agency. They have high staff turnover, are extremely disorganized, blatantly mis-inform, and oversee shoddy maintenance. The experience from the POV of the tenant seems to be just as poor. The sales team blatantly over-promises, then the landlord is left trying to understand why they are on the hook for things they explicitly did not agree to. Really a horrible experience all around.
