Moving is stressful enough as it is, and our situation was particularly complicated, but Lucie Wood made every effort on our behalf to ensure we succeeded finding our home, and we cannot praise her and them highly enough for their professionalism and courtesy. We highly recommend prospective sellers to consider JDW in Summertown. Our experience has been first class and the JDW service was highly professional right from the start - realistic estimate of house value, knowledge of the local market and how to maximise our sale price and managing our anxieties and expectations throughout the whole lengthy process to completion. The team were always professional, responsive and friendly and definitely worked hard to help us achieve our sale. They managed everything - EPC, flattering professional photographs included as part of the service, all the very many viewings, right through to chasing solicitors and other parties all along the chain to achieve completion. If you are considering selling your home, then do consider calling Daniel or Wai at JDW.

Claire Carter (based at the Weybridge branch) handled my purchase from start to finish and was exceedingly efficient. I was on a very tight timeline yet she saw no reason as to why we could not complete on time and she held true to her word. She chased deadlines when needs be and kept me informed immediately of any requests for information or any news.I never had to chase her for an answer to any question I had and I hugely appreciated her transparency throughout the process. I cannot recommend her and the agency enough.

I rented a property that was part managed by John D Wood. The service was just awful - whenever we wanted something done with any urgency, they never responded. As soon as they wanted something, we'd receive really abrupt and quite rude emails demanding that we respond immediately. The tone of all staff was rude and often accusatory. I still have no idea what the landlord paid them for as they didn't manage the property as we dealt with all the maintenance issues.

A recent new tenant who turned out to be very pleasant was found very quickly. The previous Tenancy Find was supposed to be for two tenants in the flat whereas in fact there were three and I was not happy about that.

We received superb service from Jackie Smith and Katie McWilliams: friendly, efficient and market savvy, supporting us through the marketing process expertly and then finding us tenants in a very short space of time. After we had our offer accepted Sally Behan in Weybridge called to tell us we had been gazumped. We increased our offer above asking price but were told they wouldn’t sell to us. Turns out when the seller found out our name they decided not to sell to us for ‘personal reasons’When pushed about ‘personal reasons’ she then said that there was actually a cash buyer who offered asking price. That property remained on the market for 5 weeks after that before it said under offer. Friends of mine were able to call and make viewings during this time. Disappointing that a company owned by Skipton Building Society would behave like this. The honourable thing to do would be stop acting for the seller but the commission was clearly more important.

GoogleThe flat I rented was in immaculate condition due to the care JDW takes over the rental properties for which it has management responsibility. I stayed happily for two years in the property, and if any, even slight problem, occurred, it was dealt with very promptly by JDW and skilful and thoughtful contractors - who without asking, covered or removed their shoes to spare the floors. I was told John D Wood (Primrose Hill) were a well respected local agency with whom I could sell my property, and they seem, on the surface, very professional. But I grew to dread calls from my allocated agent - a smooth talking, cocky young man - he seemed to constantly be on the side of the buyer, not mine. He told a couple of utter lies about offers coming in, he had a total lack of attention to detail, and eventually I ended up moving to a different agency where I had a much more pleasant experience. They may be on prime Primrose Hill high street, and have lovely properties for sale, but do not let that fool you! I just did not trust them. Go elsewhere.

We had a really stressful time as a buyer with JDW Esher. Details of the conditions of our offer we’re not passed onto vendor at all; when confronted with this when the transaction was at risk, it was glossed over / denied. We were also told a delayed completion was ‘impossible’. We ended up dealing direct with vendor, with a delayed completion, without issue. Got the feeling JDW were happy for us to lose out and simply switch to another buyer.
Where the same review appears twice we show it once. We leave out reviews that name another agent or another of the brand's offices.
