FacebookDreadful service, continuous changes in staff, failure to carry out basic instructions, continuous failure to keep records up dated, continuous failure to fully and completely inform vendors of what has or hasn’t been agreed, and ultimately to blackmail vendors to make good your failings. This is NOTHING short of disgraceful behaviour, that had our decease aunt not been such a kind person we fully would have left this run to court proceedings, comfortable in the knowledge that we would countersue for the costs and interest and that we would happily have involved media at the most valuable to Chancellors point…locally, whilst defending / countersuing.
At no point has Chanellors managed to even reply to questions / respond to complaints (and there is a very long list of them) nor unfortunately have Chancellors apologised to us, and the costs incurred by their numerous changes in staff, failure to comply to instructions or update staff etc, has ultimately cost a charity well over £1700!

FacebookI really don't know what wrong is with this company. First nicely they contact you, and later they don't pick up the phone or reply for messages. They keeps flats to rent which are not available any more. Someone could tell me for what are you keep them then? I can understand mistake but is not first time when I caught a contact with your Agents and I'm getting ignored. It's not nice especially when you earn money for helping them. No recomend

FacebookHorrendous lettings agency. It's been over 5 weeks since I've moved out and my deposit hasn't been returned, despite many promises that it will. All the agency fees and where do they go? You get dismissed at every opportunity - even by managers. The start of my tenancy should have been a flashing red light with changing the moving date around and the lackluster approach. If I owed them money there is no way this would be dragged out. Do yourself a favour and AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

FacebookExcellent customer service! Georgia Onions helped me with my rental property, she kept me up to date and confirmed everything via email we agreed on the phone. Only one negative, due to management availability during the upcoming bank holiday weekend, I needed travel 160 miles to get my passport verified prior to the move in - this wasn’t the best experience, but at least the team was apologetic about the issues and thankfull after I popped around with the required ID. Fingers crossed there will be no issues on the move in day.

FacebookThis is the worst property management group i have ever seen. They mis-sold the agreement with tenant, by not disclosing the matter in full, and later cause a lot of trouble to tenant. I would suggest not to sign up property managed by Chancellors. Or if you signing up, please get all the clause clarified as they don't disclose all the terms properly.
For my case they just mention tenant responsible for utilities & water in agreement as a standard clause. Never disclose a huge fixed amount of water charge applies to the property. As a responsible tenant, tried to setup water account at the beginning, however water company confirmed no account exist for that property and same informed to agent. Spent entire tenure (16 months) and nobody inform anything about water bill outstanding. 2 months after leaving the property, agent coming back with outstanding water bill part of landlord's maintenance fees, which need to be paid out. While enquiring they advised, it was not mentioned clearly to me, however this is outstanding water bill need to be cleared in time. I would have not signed the agreement at the first place if this was clearly mentioned to me at the beginning.
So must say, stay away from this company.

GoogleThe level of service provided to tenants is somewhere between incompetence and negligence.
Not only did every issue in the flat take a long time to get resolved, it took multiple chases (phone and email) to get an initial response.
At the point of checkout, it took 20+ days to get the inventory report and another 20+ days to get an initial claim from the landlord. These timescales were after multiple emails and left messages chasing with no replies and failing to call back. The person dealing with tenants was never in the office and always promised to call back but only did so once in many months of chasing and requesting a call back.
The delays caused by them forced us to go to court to fight for our deposit back because the TDS will only help if you make a claim within 3 months.
Avoid if possible, and if not, record everything as evidence like we have... you'll need it in court!

FacebookDreadful. Was very interested in viewing a property but they kept putting me off (couldn't make this day, didn't do weekends, no staff free etc. .etc). When I finally pinned down an appointment, they rang the morning of the viewing to say an offer had been accepted on the property. Funnily enough, I've been watching said property and it's still for sale (not STC - For Sale)!! This has now happened with another property but the estate agent in this case was more blunt. I was told they preferred viewers who had already sold their home or at least had a firm offer on it. When I persisted, she announced they'd had an offer on it anyway. You guessed it; it's still For Sale (not STC !!!). I do feel sorry for the vendors. What a shocking outfit.

GoogleExtremely poor service for tenants - very unresponsive and messed up our contract several times. I really can't understand why they don't have more effective processes. They still hadn't sent us a contract on the day before moving house, so needed to go directly to the landlord and arrange with him to move into the house. It's now one week later and we've not been given a mutually signed contract even though the landlord has signed one.
They're a friendly bunch though, and they have at no point been rude.

GoogleWe tried letting a property through Chancellors as they look after majority of the properties in the Oxford area but our experience dealing with their staff was so poor we have decided to move to a different town entirely.
They are generally polite and friendly but possibly the most disorganised bunch I ever came across. A typical interaction with Chancellors goes something like this: A Chancellors employee sends us an e-mail and leaves several voice-mails claiming he has found the perfect property for us and we should call him back immediately. We call back and he has no idea who we are or what the property was. We explain once again what we are looking for and he promises to be in touch. Same voice-mail a week later. We call back, the guy doesn't pick up his phone and nobody at the office has any idea where he is or what property he wanted to offer us since he didn't enter anything on the system. After several weeks of trying to get hold of someone to tell us what is going we manage to arrange a viewing for a few properties only to find out on the day that they don't actually have keys for about a third of them so we won't be able to see them. We didn't try to contact them again after that.

GoogleThe sheer incompetence of Chancellors is breathtaking. It's took them over a month after our move in date to send us a contract, and a year later when it was time to move out, it took them over a month to send us our full deposit back (minus an admin fee??). Our landlord got so sick of Chancellors constant fees for nothing in return, he decided to ditch them and go private. If we encountered any problems with the property or appliances, we contacted the landlord directly as talking to Chancellors was like talking to a brick wall and would probably result in some sort of admin fee.
To summerize.... avoid. There are plenty of other letting agencies in Oxford.

FacebookRented and bought through Chancellors - one of the worst levels of customer experience I’ve ever received! Renting they only care about annually increasing your rent but not about getting in touch with the landlord to fix any issues ... we went straight to our landlord and bypassed them. When it came to moving out - no notice or contact of a closing inspection before we left, we had to chase them. Gave us keys to the property to finalise cleaning (after a post inspection after we’d moved out!!) Then received a panic email that the new tenants were moving in that day!!! When it came to buying through them... the sales woman who showed us round the property was beyond pushy - basically making us feel like she’d say anything to get us to buy. The gentleman who kept us updated on progress during the sale struggled to do just that! Wouldn’t recommend these guys for anything.

FacebookThis agencyin headington has been hassling me with calls for 4 months despite asking them on several occassion not to; i have never registered with them and they've obtained my details.I'm not selling a house and don't want to buy one. If i did i woud not go through them. Their tactics are appauling and if they are spending time calling likes of me then you could be wasting your fees.
