Horrible the staff don't answer or respond to emails intentionally hold back information cause massive problems moving in and out. Refused to fix and ignored major issues with the property. The worst Estate agents iv ever delt with utterly unprofessional I really hope to help people avoid the massive stress and problems caused by using them.

The sheer incompetence of Chancellors is breathtaking. It's took them over a month after our move in date to send us a contract, and a year later when it was time to move out, it took them over a month to send us our full deposit back (minus an admin fee??). Our landlord got so sick of Chancellors constant fees for nothing in return, he decided to ditch them and go private. If we encountered any problems with the property or appliances, we contacted the landlord directly as talking to Chancellors was like talking to a brick wall and would probably result in some sort of admin fee. To summerize.... avoid. There are plenty of other letting agencies in Oxford.

Pretty poor experience. They are good when it comes to showing you the property, once you are a tenant with them, you suddenly become more a nuisance than a customer to them. They are really disorganized and unhelpful when it comes to responding to issues, you better go directly to Chancellors website and use their chat function than hoping to wait for a response from Oxford team when something needs fixing. From day 1 we constantly chased them for all kinds of things. A week before we moved out, they arranged for an electricity check without telling us and suddenly the electrician was in our house as he had a key. Not cool. The house we were renting was put on the market and the sales team was also not great with us. We constantly had to ask them to take their shoes off when they had viewings with potential buyers, and they kept walking over our light floors with wet shoes regardless. How many times do you have to ask for a common courtesy?? Once they locked us out of the house when they had a viewing by locking a faulty lock (which we had flagged to Chancellors ages ago), and we had to call a locksmith, of course they refused to cover the cost. We waited 2.5 months to get our deposit back and had to chase so many times until they finally released it. And even AFTER we moved out they still called us to arrange viewings!! They even called us once about a house we had lived in years ago! come on tidy up your data base!! Completely useless unfortunately.

I have recently rented a property through the East Oxford branch and I have to say, they were fantastic. From start to finish they were really professional and made the whole experience, which could have been stressful, very pleasant. I spoke with Helen Wood who listened to me from start to finish, which is something I value as my requirements were specific. She showed me a range of properties which were all suited to me and didn't stray from the requirements. The main thing that stood out for me was how responsive she was which I found hard to find with other agents. As a first time renter I found the prospect of finding a property daunting, I had heard all the horror stories on the Oxford housing market and was doubting whether I would be able to find a suitable property. I approached Chancellors and was impressed with how attentive they were, I spoke with Adam and he showed me a wide range of properties and gave me honest recommendations on what would suit my needs. I still needed time before I could move in but Adam understood this and would frequently update me on which properties had been added or removed.
