we had a smooth rental process and stay with this agency but the problems started the day we moved out, they held on to the deposit for nearly 4 months with ridiculously slow response time and they made a very large claim against our deposit in accordance with whatever the landlord decided to do (well, the landlord is their real costumer after all, not the tenant) and regardless of us meeting all the requirements bound by the contact, we fought back for a while but eventually gave up as it wasn't worth our time.

Horrible experience ! Booked in a viewing 4 days in advance and even called to confirm an hour and half prior to the viewing. One of the members of staff confirmed confidently that the viewing is still on. At the time of the viewing no one showed up, so we called again, this time the same agent could not find the booking as apparently it was not placed in the system, yet he had no problem confirming the same booking earlier. No apology, nor an effort to fix the problem as "everyone has left the office already". When I asked to speak to another member of staff that I could hear in the background, my request was ignored until it was too late as everyone had left. They charge high agent fees yet they can't even show up for a viewing. Firstly the agent tried to deny that he confirmed the booking but then he was reminded that the calls are recorded. Horrible customer service.

However it was not till we met Antony that we got a house. It was wonderful to get into a property in record time after the struggle we had been through. This is my first time in the UK. Searching for houses would not have been easy if it was not for the Chancellors. I had a lot of support from Katherine, who actually escorted me to one of the houses for a viewing. I really appreciated this helping gesture of her's. Finding houses simultaneously as you work is a difficult task, but chancellors adjusted their viewing timings to make sure they would suite me and in doing so, they had to work out of their stipulated work hours. I am thankful to Chancellors and adore their hard working employees like Katherine. All the best.

When you arrive from a foreign country with no landmarks, struggling with deadlines to find an accommodation, being accompanied by a professional who really supports you during the whole process in your apartment research is very helpful. I was pleased to find this with Chancellors which was a valuable partner for me. I appreciate the service provided by Declan, who helped me a lot. He was a good listener and he took enough time to answer all my questions even after the deal was settled. He was always quick and efficient to find appropriate solutions to my needs. I dealt with Chancellors in two different occasions, one when we let our current house few years ago and more recently when we purchased our new family home through them. We had a very positive experience in both occasions and found them very professional. Leo Furnivall from the headington branch in Oxford has helped and supported us hugely he was the one that I used to go to if we had any issue and he was always calm and went out of his way to help. This branch of Chancellors has provided a SHAMEFUL service to us (group of students) and I recommend that students and landlords alike steer clear of this branch. We have contacted Chancellor's seeking to arrange visits to a number of properties - we have been consistently told that they will call us back yet they never do. The inference must be that they are uninterested in successfully securing tenants for their landlords and that they have little concern for the quality of customer service which they provide to would-be tenants. Given the £160 administration fee per tenant this level of service is particularly unacceptable.

We are in the process of buying a property and dealt with many estate agents while looking for the “perfect” house, Angela Lessani at Chancellors has been an excellent and enthusiastic sales agent, passionate, full of energy and tireless when came to find the right place for us. She is one of a kind and you’ll be lucky to have her on your side as she goes beyond her duties, she’ll sort out problems when they arise (and they inevitably will), she’ll be available at any time (weekends included) if you have any enquiry. Angela isn’t there to sell houses but sell homes and she’s good at it.
