We (unusually) are commenting as we are buyers who bought a house in Oxford via this firm. Our main contact was Julia Wilson. It was a complex purchase with multiple hurdles. Julia acted for the executors. I felt she always had her clients interests at heart and fought hard for them. She also was helpful in terms of facilitation and her team's time to make things happen and arrange visitors doing inspections for us. A consummate and fair professional who had a good back up team. I would consider using her to sell a house for me.

We sold our property through the Marlborough office of Carter Jonas. The team especially Sophie and Fred were always on hand to give excellent help and advice and visited the property numerous times over the months when it was on sale.We had a number of viewings throughout the time the property was on the market and their up to date feedback on the viewings was invaluable. Thank you for all your professionalism as this made the process so much easier for us.We were delighted that the house eventually sold this year to a family who will now look after it for years to come and make it their family home - as it was for us for 45 years !

Fantastic Experience with Carter Jones

Deliberately trying to put off tenants with pets

I am trying to rent somewhere and have a dog. The new Renters Rights Act should make it easier, but Carter Jonas do the opposite. I was told today that they have a 'huge backlog of pet requests and it's taking around 1.5 months to get permission from a building manager' so no point even asking. Surely that's something that can happen in principle before a property is marketed? I believe they are using delays and unhelpfulness as a way of continuing to exclude tenants with pets.

What a great company to deal with. The whole process, from arranging the initial viewing to finally signing a tenancy exuded professionalism. Rachel was so expert and helpful (even responding to me on what I found out was her day off) and nothing was too much trouble. Tanya also went above and beyond to save the day when we were let down by an external agency. If she hadn't, it would have been really quite a major inconvenience. On the strength of these two members of staff alone I would heartily recommend Carter Jonas. Not to mention the smooth process around background checks and deposit collection etc.

Kate McKinnon has been an absolute star, helping us through a very stressful process. I was in need of a property following a recent relationship separation. I called Carter Jonas and spoke with Louise who took the time to assess what I needed and how best to help me find it. Louise found me a property that matched what I was looking and even more. She was so kind, helpful and took the time to listen and care something that I found other agents were not willing to do. This showed she was more concerned about the person rather than the "sale/rental". Louise even assisted when I wanted to go view the property again to measure up and helped resolve a few utility issues that came up. (This review was originally 3 stars) So its been 1 year, and as I usually do I looked back at my review and decided to reconsider the rating I originally left. The property is fine, but its just fine. It's quite painful to get any issues looked at or resolved at carter Jonas, I'm honestly quite dissapointed with the service I'm receiving. My fridge has been broken for weeks (it comes with the house so I cant have my own) and there's no sign of this being resolved. The heating still doesnt work in 2 bathrooms (to be fair, I only complained about this twice, maybe I'll be 3rd time lucky?) And my rent has went up, although not by a big about. Still, it's a cheery on top. All and all the biggest issue is with how I'm supposed to report issues, they have a new and "better" ticket system. And let me tell you its horrible. I guess I'll keep throwing in tickets until someone decides I deserves to have a place to keep my milk from going bad in a day. I'll revist this review in the future, but its not looking bright.
