GoogleI have never purchased a home before so I do not know if the service I received and treatment is normal but my mortgage provider explained it was odd. I was interested in this property through another agency, it suddenly got passed to this agency and I was told on the day they posted the property it was sold! A few weeks later I contacted again and asked if I still wanted the property. I said yes but when they found out I was located in another country, I was asked several times what I was going to be using the property for. Rather intrusive I thought. Due to COVID-19 the process of getting my mortgage and solicitor took a little longer than usual. This caused the estate agent to email my mortgage advisor and solicitor constantly to find out how the process was going. This made me feel uncomfortable as it felt like he didn't trust me. He did try and get answers to the many questions I asked. However, I am now facing a £5000 bill for the sellers deceiving us about a damp problem that they had quoted for last year but covered up. A little bit disappointed to say the least.
Hi Nicola. I have emailed you privately but as your review is public for everyone to see I felt that I needed to put my side of the story across. Firstly, and as mentioned at the time properties change agents all the time and as you were not registered with Key Drummond, we didn't know you and so, couldn't tell you that we had listed the property for sale. However, when you emailed me about the property, I explained that even though it was currently sale agreed, if it came back for sale, I would tell you straight away. I then did exactly that when the property did come back for sale and you ended up purchasing the property through us. We have an obligation to check the details of a buyer’s funding and position at the point an offer was made and the checks we made were the same checks we make for any buyer, local or international. During the sale, it is my job to check the progress of any sale to ensure matters progress to a satisfactory exchange and completion. Your broker and solicitor would have been used to having contact from Estate Agents and to be honest, I think a buyer and seller would be unhappy if I didn’t chase their sale for them. Your final point is the reason why I think you have left us such an unfavorable review. However, this is totally unfair, and your frustration should be directed at your surveyor as I know you had a survey. A surveyor would have picked up any damp issue in the property and reported their findings to you. If this has been missed and you have been left with a bill for damp work, then I would strongly suggest you speak to the surveyor and make a formal complaint against them. From an Estate Agents point of view, we do not carry out damp checks on a property. As you have said I did help with your many questions and I really wish you would have come to me first before posting your review on Google. As I hold no bad feelings and as I am still happy to help you if you want to reply to my email, the offer of help is there for you to take. Thanks, Chris

GoogleI can honestly say the whole experience with Key Drummond was exceptional, you always put Mum and me first and nothing was ever too much trouble, and you took the extra time to talk to Mum who at her age was a bit overwhelmed but she relaxed knowing she was in such good hands. Throughout the sale you kept us fully informed so if we ever need to sell again I would not look at any other agent, it would always be Matt and Chris at Key Drummond in Oakdale.

GoogleRight from the start when Chris came to value and quote you could see how far the branch had come from the previous staff. Very professional with a good sense of humor and gave full support with suggestions throughout the whole selling process. Also gave support through a very long drawn out completion of the chain. we are not going to move again!!!!! but I would be happy to recommend them to anyone. Great costs as well as great service.
