What a great team at Bairstow Eves in Witham especially Jordan Knights who went above and beyond to get the purchase of my new property through before the Stamp Duty holiday ended. She was always at the end of the phone when my own estate agents selling my property seemed uninterested once I had accepted an offer. Even if Jordan wasnt available Nick was always at hand to step in. I couldn’t recommend Bairstow Eves enough.

I've been tryingn to purchase a mortgage with this company the reservation ran out before the purchase was complete wasting my time and money this happened because bairstow is not interested in filling there part on e they vot thre mone I've been ignored and pushed aside countless times buy this firm was told they will call me back at least a dozen times with no call back there email response are normal shurg offs all I've needed from them was the lender form so the solicitor and sale rep can do there job took 6 weeks of waiting g and chasing there mortgage department to fail miserable because after they git paid for there part in the sales and purchases they don't care anymore and you git pushed to the back burner this has lost me £1000s of pounds in fees to solicitors and reservation in the property all because there not interested after you paid there fee I'm a first time buyer and completely deverstated buy this company.

Very poor experience all round. Had a holding deposit on a new build, jumped through hoops to provide everything requested to keep the sale moving - every part of communication had to be initiated by myself. Led along by agent to believe everything was going well, turns out Chad Deakin went behind my back to sell the property to another couple. It seems a reservation doesn't mean much to this company.No transparency, very untrustworthy and unprofessional to say the least.On the bright side, probably a blessing in disguise as this company have shown their true colours from the start, not somebody I would want to appease in the future.

The Bairstoweves branch in Nottingham were consistently terrible at responding to issues. As a tenant in a flat managed by the agency, I had a few issues with the radiator constantly radiating heat. As the agency fully managed the property, I reported the issue which they didn't do anything about until a couple of months after (bearing in mind this was in the middle of summer when I made the report). After emailing them a few times and quite sternly, the finally contacted my landlord to resolve this issue. The inability for this agency to deal with serious matters that have been reported is horrendous. Would not recommend.

The worst agency ever. Rented a house. There was a leak and all living room floor was wavy, so they said they will fix it. Its been 6 months and nothing. So we moved out. It was terrible comunication, did not knew it they accepted the notice or not. Amy way, we managed to move out. I asked for my full deposit, on move out day, they said we will get full amount. The landlord approved. On 20th of March i asked where is my deposit? I got an respond that i need to confirm my bank details. I did. On 23rd i wrote where is the deposit. They said my wofe needs to confirm bank details. She did. I called them they said now it will be up to 10 days. 10 days later i wrote an email, where is my deposit. I got a response that i need to confirm my bank details! What a joke. Due to corona, we lost income, i need money, and they just playing around, wont pick the phone too.

I previously worked for this company as a lettings manager and was shocked to receive a letter stating I owe them over £1,000 after leaving the job over a year ago. This is completely unacceptable and feels ridiculous. I've never encountered a company that expects former employees to pay money after their tenure, especially not after so long. I think they forget how much I know about how they operate as a business, like how they charge tenants when leaving a property for things they didn’t actually do (only getting quotes then demanding money for works that have not been completed), plus a ton of hidden fees for landlords that aren’t even mentioned in the terms of business. What an absolute joke of a company. I would advise potential employees to be cautious and ensure they fully understand any financial obligations before accepting a position here. I would also advise landlords to stay away if they don’t want a company to rob them for their money!!!

Unprofessional and uneducated people working here. How do I know? They were selling my flat and Mark Alexander, the Manager, called me to force me to sell when he wanted me to sell (all he cared about was his commission). I told him I wanted to wait to make a decision and like an upset kid, he just hanged up on me! If the Manager, who is supposed to give the example, behaves like that, then that gives u a very grim idea of how the whole Company is. If you want to sell your flat, do it with real professionals who have your best interest in mind, not only their commission. To be fair, Adam Shackman who was the Negotiator for the sale was professional and polite at all times. But if a Manager behaves like that, that ruins the whole experience and the reputation of the Company. Nobody should deal with a Company that has unprofessional and uneducated people in charge.

Great proactive communication from all members of the team and made each step very easy. i would highly recommend the team in the Purley branch as they were very professional, polite, business savvy and worked quickly to get our property let.

I instructed Bairstoweves to sell my home. I was impressed by the initial response and the regular contact and updates on viewing appointments. They took care of all viewings and on being told they had received two offers on the property, I held a lengthy talk with a member of the team who told me that one of the offers came from a regular client who had purchased a number of properties through them and the buyer always completed without problems. So we chose him rather than the other buyer, despite this person offering £5k more. The main reason was that he was a cash buyer and we would complete quicker. Then he was going to get a mortgage. Then he couldn't get a mortgage. Then he was going for a bridging loan and so the problems went on and on. Barstoweves never returned my calls, nor my solicitors calls or the estate agents of the property we were buying. It was impossible to get through on the phone and there is no mobile number to call or text on. It was only when I entered the complaints procedure that I felt I was being treated as a client. I would never recommend Bairstoweves or any subsidiary of Countrywide. My complaint was not upheld because the file made no reference to a cash buyer. They could not identify the person I spoke to and phone calls are not recorded. As far as Countrywide were concerned the conversation never took place. Do not trust Bairstoweves, they promise the earth but do not deliver

Absolutely excellent service from John and Wayne at the Archway branch of Bairstow Eves. They did so much to keep our sale on track when it nearly fell through on a number of occasions. They were quick to respond to us, communicating frequently over WhatsApp, email and phone. They worked incredibly hard, are reliable and trustworthy. There were several occasions where they went out of their way to get keys or pick up a signed legal document. I would not hesitate to recommend them. Thank you!

TrustpilotI would recommend them but would advice to select your own conveyancer privately.
I have just used this agent for my first property purchased in Folkestone. The transaction took 6 months to finish. Claire the branch manager is very helpful and cooperative and she was very proactive and motivate to finish this purchase. I am happy with their branch service but conveyancers experience was nightmare. But unfortunately the conveyancyer they have on their panel please stay away from them specially conveyancing expert awful service and poor communication and response. They dragged and kept the transaction pending until two days before my mortgage offer expires. My overall experience with bairstoweves was good. But I would strongly advice not to go with countrywide recommendation conveyancers. I would recommend to do your own research before appointing a conveyancer for your purchase otherwise it will turn into nightmare. Its better to have your own private conveyancer outside and not recommended by an agent as they do get commision from them but then buyer and sellers suffers due to poor service. And be watchfull about what has been agreed fee for the whole transaction by the conveyancer at the start. My conveyancing bill was exceeded and I was charged almost doube then what I was quoted at start and it was big blow and shock. You had to pay and can not afford to pull out at this time after 6months waiting when you have nowhere to go.

Hi if i could give 10 stars I would.I actually deal with the Purley branch and have found the staff to be very helpful and professional.Luke the Manager is there at the other end of the phone to help with any problems that arise.Then there is Sophie who goes beyond the limitations I would expect. She is always very positive and vibrant and really does keep our spirits up. She does most of our viewings and even helps with the dogs if we are not able to be there.She was involved as Luke was with a past sale and we have total confidence in her.The new lady Camilla is a pleasure to deal with. She is quietly confident with a can do attitude.All in all a great team to do business with.

I would like to mention Emma in the Clifton branch , she is so dedicated to her job , she gave us constant updates and even chased Solicitors etc then contacted ourselves This was very reassuring as our Solicitors ( doing a speedy and efficient job) we're not the best at communicating. He went through everything possible and was available at all possible opportunities to help and guide through the entire process. This didn't just cover the standard house purchase either, From mortgages to life assurance and buildings insurance etc... he got me the best deals available on the market at the time and explained in detail each step along the way. Any questions I had (And there was quite a few) he went through them in such a way that a complete novice to the process could understand and explained each part along the way. AVOID BAIRSTOW EVES AT ALL COSTS!!!We have had the most terrible experience with Bairstow Eves, both buying & selling. They have needed chasing for even the most basic of tasks to be done. From the for sale board to the EPC, nothing has been straight forward. We were called weeks after our offer had been accepted,to find out how our property search was going. 🤷♂️ We were just stuck for words at their incompetence. Now, to cap it all the house we had an offer accepted on has been sold without them contacting us to raise our offer or check on our position. Amateurish is an understatement for these clowns. Treat them like the plague & stay away.

Being brutally honest it felt pointless being a landlord with this bunch of amateurs, you will never meet your investment objectives working with them.Pain, stress, frustration every step of the way working with this business. Let me introduce you to the Beeston branch in Nottingham, my local branch, where there there lacked any semblance of customer service ethos or any knowledge of what a landlord might expect from property investment and a tenant might expect from a letting agent. You start out with frustrated and angry tenants from the get go of moving in after dealing with Bairstow Eves which is only the start of a loveless relationship as landlord, tenant and property management company. They employ very young staff who lack any interest in property but simply seem to need and job, how ever it transpires most don’t seem to need a job very much and make little effort or leave. Turnover is high, I dealt with numerous different staff which also resulting in repeated tasks and documents being lost, You end up hand holding every step on the way for the most basic tasks and in each case wondering what the hell it is you are paying for. The branch management, that has to be escalated to frequently, is equally as inexperienced, apathetic and incompetent, managers promoted because the last one left or was moved on. After endless mistakes never expect apologies, immediate corrections or refunds just snotty emails or for your communication to be ignored. BE (Countrywide) use ‘Preferred contractors’ all their maintenance and repairs. Most seem to be on the make, over charging, making up repairs, lies and failing to supply essential documentation while Bairstow fail to address any of these issues by letting them continue to repeat these actions (mainly arguably illegal). Their contract, contractor and tenant management process lacks any level of rigor and has to be repeatedly chased to ensure any level of compliance and ability to meet landlord and tenants requirements. As a customer of this business you accept you are always wrong until the point you leave. I emailed several execs at BE about my Hughes list of issues none responded to me. An unprofessional business too to bottom.

I can not thank the staff at Bairstow Eve's in Biggin Hill, in particular Caroline Price. Very professional and diligent, Caroline went the extra mile occasion after occasion. Always there to explain and keep me informed which was just what I needed when everything got a bit complicated and stressful. I have her to thank as she held my hand throughout the whole process and I would have faired far worse if it wasn't for her knowing her job and simply caring. She was instrumental in keeping the whole chain together as she ended up communicating with everyone throughout the whole chain (from top to bottom) from estate agents, conveyancing solicitors and individuals in the buying/selling chain, due to part of the chain being a private sale. If I ever look to move again, I know exactly who to turn to. Thank you, I can not recommend or sing your praises highly enough for all you have done.

Beware of using this agency. Completely untrustworthy. We had a multi-agency agreement with this agency and had agreed the same commission rate as with the other two agencies. In person, they agreed to the same commission rate and then surreptitiously increased it in the contract. It's only at the end of the entire venture - which is long and dragged out in itself, given I had to coordinate the agent and give daily instructions to follow up with the buyer, you're faced with a surprise sum in the final invoice. Do not recommend!
