A heartfelt recommendation

We did the usual ‘beauty parade’ of Cambridge estate agents and were impressed from the outset by Bidwells’ Andrew Tucker’s professionalism and empathy as we embarked on a big life change. Throughout the sales process he expertly represented our interests with potential purchasers and helped us easily clear the inevitable hurdles that popped up during the conveyancing process. With our completion now imminent, we couldn’t recommend Andrew more strongly. When we started to consider a family relocation, we didn’t anticipate becoming cheerleaders for an estate agent! But we now most certainly are for Bidwells’ Andrew Tucker. If you’re considering selling your house, give him a call.

If I could have given zero or negative stars, I would have done so. My experience of this estate agent is as a prospective buyer. And, as a result of my experience, I would never buy a property through these people, and suggest you too give them a wide berth. They provide misleading information regarding properties, both on their website and accompanying brochures. Then, when you ask to withdraw from the purchase because of what you discover about the property, they hit you with extortionate withdrawal fees and blame the client and their client's solicitor, even though the only agreement you have signed is with them. Even worse, they send you insulting emails trying to make you feel bad about your decision to withdraw. Of course, after complaining about such, they apologise. But the damage has already been done. Querying the withdrawal fees, which they call "administration fees" doesn't get you far. You get no breakdown of tasks, just that you have been charged for one hour, at a cost of £375+VAT. Wow! That is more than most people earn in a week! Absolutely disgraceful!!

Friendly and honest renting process

We found an apartment via Rightmove and got in touch with Bidwells through there. The associate we dealt with, Niki, was very helpful from the get-go. Niki has been very understanding of our situation (being in the middle of a visa application process) and has provided full transparency about the rental process, always being clear about what Bidwells could and could not guarantee given our situation. Furthermore, we have never rented in the UK before and Niki has been very helpful with providing clarifications to all of our questions.

The sale of our property was very complicated due to Deeds of Variation to change our lease and having to deal with our Estate Management Company, their solicitors, plus Landlord solicitors and finally, our buyers solicitors.
