Deals through back door

Been chasing a property for more than 6 months. everytime I called or mailed. reply i get is agent not available or we will get back when viewing commence. later advertise as under offer. seems like deal went through back door without exploring all the options available. very poor customer interaction. Frustration is building hopes and wasting time with doggy people. I would give less than a star...

Great support and service

We recently bought a new build and the developer was using Bidwells as their estate agents. We had a bumpy road with the purchase as two buyers for our old house dropped out. Andy and Frances were so good at supporting us through this and once we got our third buyer they helped us push our solicitors (and asked them the right questions too) in order for our completion before our mortgage offer expired. We wouldn't be in our beautiful new home without them! The service they provided was amazing.

Rob is an old friend of mine so I may be somewhat biased. However, I have found that both Rob and Bidwells went well beyond the call of duty to effect the sale of my house in the Hemingfords. For example, the grass was overgrown (I live in the Far East); Rob didn't hesitate to go round and cut the grass at 9am on a Saturday morning!

Fantastic service on purchase and sale, best agents in Cambridge

We used Bidwells (in particular Ollie Rivers) for both our sale and purchase end could not have been happier. I came to Bidwell after months of…

I came to Bidwell after months of searching for a property and was unsuccessfully. I was initially supported by Irene who was amazing and went above and beyond. I was updated throughout the whole process and she passed me onto Jake when I found the property unfortunately this didn’t work out however, Jake worked hard to secure me another brother and reassured me throughout and I got an even better one. Bidwell is the best in the business but the Cambridge staff are fantastic.

Excellent service

Andrew was very friendly and knowledgeable about our old house. The photographer did a fantastic job and the brochure was excellent. Jess did a sterling job in organising the many viewings over the course of nearly a year. Mark and others were a real pleasure to meet as they conducted the viewings.Everyone was understanding of our probate situation and the sadness involved with selling the family home. It is not cheap to sell a house but we did really feel Bidwells overall did a very good job. It was a shame we didn't end up getting the value we agreed on - had to drop the price a bit after the offer was accepted because of current events, but I am not sure there was a lot we could have done about that. Possibly a little harder bargaining.... not my speciality!

Highly recommend the Bidwells team

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Ollie on the sale of our house. When we first met last year, Ollie gave us a realistic view of the suggested timeline for the sale and the price we can ask for. We were talking to another agency at the time that gave us a way higher and (as we now know) unrealistic price and a later timeline that would have gotten us into trouble with our new house now. Both Ollie and his colleague Lara were very responsive and stepped in to support both us and the buyers with anything required. Bought my new-build through Bidwells. Very easy to get hold of the staff when needed. Good effective communication in general. Felt supported throughout the purchase process. Kept up to date with the build progress. The developers Brampton Valley Homes were also very helpful. Again, easy to contact via phone & email. The site manager took note of my preferences and acted on them. The development is still unfinished but have not had any trouble with the ongoing building work/traffic/noise. Overall very happy with my new house!

Very impressed with the rental side of the business!

I have just finished the process of starting a flat rental through Bidwells, and have been extremely impressed by Jake Jackson's performance, who led the process from Bidwells' side. Jake was polite, helpful and efficient, and we were able to go from flat viewing to signing contracts in 5 days. The Goodlord platform that Bidwells uses for background checks etc is also very user friendly and efficient.

Niki and the BW team are gods

Niki and the BW team are gods. (gender neutral) I’m a lost yank and they were super understanding and patient throughout the whole process. Moving to the UK in the summer and looking for a house in Cambridge was daunting but, they made it pretty painless. They answered no less than 1,768 questions most of which were probably extremely basic but, they always laughed and helped via email or phone. The BW team also seemed to keep a better website compared to other property managers. Five stars / swipe right for elite customer service.

We did the usual ‘beauty parade’ of Cambridge estate agents and were impressed from the outset by Bidwells’ Andrew Tucker’s professionalism and empathy as we embarked on a big life change. Throughout the sales process he expertly represented our interests with potential purchasers and helped us easily clear the inevitable hurdles that popped up during the conveyancing process. With our completion now imminent, we couldn’t recommend Andrew more strongly. When we started to consider a family relocation, we didn’t anticipate becoming cheerleaders for an estate agent! If I could have given zero or negative stars, I would have done so. My experience of this estate agent is as a prospective buyer. And, as a result of my experience, I would never buy a property through these people, and suggest you too give them a wide berth. They provide misleading information regarding properties, both on their website and accompanying brochures. Then, when you ask to withdraw from the purchase because of what you discover about the property, they hit you with extortionate withdrawal fees and blame the client and their client's solicitor, even though the only agreement you have signed is with them. Even worse, they send you insulting emails trying to make you feel bad about your decision to withdraw. Of course, after complaining about such, they apologise. But the damage has already been done. Querying the withdrawal fees, which they call "administration fees" doesn't get you far. You get no breakdown of tasks, just that you have been charged for one hour, at a cost of £375+VAT. Wow! That is more than most people earn in a week! Absolutely disgraceful!!
