Throughout the process we've been in contact with only one agent Andrea McCarthy, which was great, ensuring continuity and personalised approach.
She also gave us great advice regarding local businesses and support through redecorating the property. She went far and beyond what we've ever expected from a property agent consultant. Very honest, helpful and lovely Lady.

My Mum recently moved to a Bungalow marketed by Browns. From the first contact we had with Browns we received great support through the process of selling and buying a property.
Whilst all staff were extremely professional, I must particularly mention Claire who all through the buying process kept me informed of how things were progressing.
Whilst I was struggling to deal with the other Estate Agents selling my mums house who were appalling, Claire was always there to give me honest answers to the many questions I had regarding the purchase, I cannot thank her enough for her help, support and guidance.
I found the most important thing during the process of buying and selling a house is clear communication with Professionals you can trust and Browns Estate Agents at their Stockton office 100% delivered on this.

GoogleIn my opinion Browns Property Management claim to be governed by the highest standards in the property industry and abide by the strictest codes of practice cannot be further from the truth. Their focus in my dealings with them have shown them to fill their properties and claim their fees with a total disregard for any damage to previous Landlords or the client (Landlord) they claim to fairly represent. In twenty years of dealing with Property letting agents as an Accredited Landlord they are by far the worst agents i have dealt with and would strongly recommend that Landlords do not use them as their agent.
When i mentioned to Browns that i would be posting a critical review of my experience with them Mr Simon Brown in a telephone conversation told me that he had contacted their Solicitors and accused me of 'Blackmailing ' him. I can confirm that i have received no payment for posting this review and Mr Brown should carefully consider what exactly blackmail is and if it is appropriate in his professional capacity to make such accusations in an attempt to prevent my disclosing my experience on a public review site. He should also recognise the purpose of people posting independent reviews and i suspect his indignation and intimidation suggest he is uncomfortable at the comments i have made regarding his code of practice. He has my personal assurance that his intimidation and threats will not prevent me in what i consider my public right to express my experience as i view it for others to consider.I have also registered his intimidation with the local police.
My suggestion to Browns Property management is to carry out more thorough referencing of applicants and to listen to comments from previous Landlords. It is the current Landlord that will bear the financial consequences of not applying due diligence during this process.
My advice to anyone looking for a Property agent is not to use Browns Property Management of Stockton.

Treat like scum. my partner was looking for a house to rent I was helping out and she found a house that was advertised by browns and organised a viewing just before the viewing we talked and decided I would move in with her as it would be stupid us both running separate house holds. Also with me earning a good salary that would also help so I decided not to look for myself and let browns know I will be moving in with her and it would be a joint application. It’s all started really well we met the inspection lady who was covering to show us round the house on the Thursday. She was lovely very chatty. We decided that we wanted to go for the house as long as the landlord would let us decorate or do something about it. We got a call Thursday afternoon to say the landlord would be happy to put £100 towards decorating the house. Great! So I went down the Friday and paid my deposit. I was say waiting in the room when I over heard 2 people speaking about our application. And how they had questions. So I went into the room to fill the application and pay out application fee. Nothing got mentioned so I prompted if there was any problems with our application with me deciding to move in. I got a no no it’s all okay. So openly I explained a very personal situation on why I had decided to move in. and I got a okay I will let Julie know. Julie I had spoken to previously who was very blunt and had very poor customer service. We waited over the weekend getting all excited how we would decorate what to buy. Colour schemes. To then get a call Monday to see that the landlord had changed his mind and didn’t want us in because he didn’t want us to decorate etc... with me hearing what I did I had a suspicion this wasn’t the case so I called back after my partner rang me upset at work I asked a lot of questions. And without admitting it they mentioned it was down to suspicion of me not actually living at the address with me not originally going for the house with my partner. That call was also a very bad service. Poor customer service skills. How they can take my deposit and getting us excited knowing full well they weren’t going to accept us. I will never use them again. We have luckily found a better house elsewhere and moved in with great service. I recommend you look at a house with Robinson’s estate agents.
