GoogleRENTERS BEWARE! My sister used Bowes Mitchell to find a flat in Gosforth and has been left almost a thousand pounds out of pocket. She paid Bowes Mitchell her deposit, which was then passed on to the landlord. She was told by Bowes Mitchell that it was put into a secure 'Tenancy Deposit Scheme' (the scheme, a legal requirement, created to protect tenants from unscrupulous agents and landlords). After moving out, and the property had passed all appropriate checks, my sister requested her deposit back only to discover that the money is no-where to be found. As it turns out the landlord has kept the money and it was never paid into a deposit scheme. Bowes Mitchell have washed their hands of the matter as they weren't paid to manage the property, but it seems incredulous that they do not check the landlords they recommend, do in fact conduct their rentals within the appropriate legal framework. All telephone conversations with Bowes Mitchell were unproductive and on more than one occasion we found the staff not only unhelpful but condescending and unpleasant. They left us feeling totally deserted and with no idea of whom to turn. Almost six months later and still the deposit is nowhere to be seen. This so called reputable high street company have done nothing to help other than to point the blame at the landlord who after all was their client in the first place.

GoogleBeen with them for more than 5 years (from back when they were Bowes Mitchell), we have a rented house in the Fairways estate. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. Prompt and well-done repairs. No hassle, no fuss, just good service.

Worse experience EVER please do not use this agency if you have to sale a flat. I should look at Trustpilot!If I can avoid for you to do this mistake I made! So unprofessional, I was selling my property with them and let me tell you what a mess, they manage to loss the buyer on the way….. Unbelievable

I wish I could give negative stars. The WORST service we have ever had in our lives. The owner (Chris) even refused to talk to us or remove the unedible burger from our bill. I have been a regular for 10+ years. Sadly, i will NEVER return. I have never been treated worse by a server and owner. They swore at us even though THEY were in the wrong!!!! Absolutely awful!!!!

GoogleI tried to arrange a viewing of a property over the telephone with a member of staff and they were unhelpful and bordering on rude in their attitude. I was unable to book a viewing on the day I had off work and they gave me no solutions or advice re working around my 9 to 5 work schedule. How they expect to sell houses when they are turning away potential buyers so easily, I don't know.

Appalling service, I am shocked they are even still in business. I have been trying to book a viewing for almost a month now for a house in Gateshead and the agency has cancelled on me on 3 separate occasions, after I took time off work for the viewings.We had a fourth viewing booked for this afternoon and they just called me to cancel once again because the house has now been confirmed by someone else!

Rude, immoral, unprofessional and greedy agency. Worst of all, they ignored bullying compliants against their employees. A company as this that tolerates harassment shouldn’t continue to exist. Take your money and business else where.
