BJB used to have a good reputation. However the Newcastle branch has really let them down. They took advantage of the COVID pandemic to con a local charity out of £5000 pounds by getting them to sign a lease based on a video. The charity trusted BJB, but when they were to move in they found it in a disgusting state, unfit and without fire escapes. Do the right thing BJB. Refund the money and apologize.
Dear John, Thank you for your feedback, which we believe to be in response to a recent social media post. For clarity, we would like to highlight that this is connected to the letting of a commercial retail premises, rather than a domestic dwelling; our Newcastle under Lyme branch are in no way connected to this transaction. We regret that the tenant doesn’t feel the property is fit for purpose. We are working with the tenant and the landlord to come to a solution but as the contract is signed the decision rests with the landlord. Unfortunately, due to Government imposed restrictions, we were unable to offer an in-person viewing and sent the tenant a short video of the property which was recorded prior to lockdown. The tenant ultimately made the decision to sign the lease, having had the time and opportunity to have this reviewed, and paid the rent for the first year in its entirety in advance; this was not a requisite of the letting but rather a decision made by the tenant. It's an unfortunate situation and we’ll continue to work with both sides in an attempt to come to a satisfactory outcome.bjb Commercial team.

Selling dreams indeed. My friend Deborah has rented a property to help support vulnerable migrant women, and due the coronavirus, she wasn't allowed a proper viewing. BJB have clearly taken advantage of this fact - when Deborah moved in there was an improper fire escape, there were bags of rubbish strewn about the place, and there was not even a boiler! This is outrageous and yet another example of landlords' & their agents' contempt for renters.

We recently experienced what you would call a winter nightmare. The boiler broke leaving us with no hot water or heating. However, after speaking with Natalie I was left feeling assured and her main priority. Natalie remained in contact from start to finish. Within a few hours it was sorted. Thank you Natalie. I recently helped my mother move house and used the services of Butters John Bee.They were professional, competitive and no hard sell, but what really made a difference was the way they looked after my mother who had not long been widowed. How do these guys even sell anything? We tried to view properties on 2 separate occasions, initially in 2020 and then earlier this week, just to be told the same thing: "we'll call you back to arrange a viewing". No call returned, no emails, no communication whatsoever. What does a girl need to do to view a property you're selling guys?!

Went to view 2 houses approximatly 6 months ago, one of which we were interested in, i think the house was up for roughly 'offers over 155,000'. We rang up to submit an offer of 140,000 to which the man basically laughed me out of the conversation and was extremely rude. Stated that the ower would not accept that offer. I asked for him to put it to them anyway, he insisted that we submit bank information to him to prove our deposit to which i refused as no other estate agent has ever done that in my experience and as at that point there is no formal agreement in place i would not pass on personal information without any protection of my information in place. Gave up at this point and moved onto another property with an estate agent that was MUCH better. So now roughly 6 months later i see the property that i was interested in now sold stc, for wait for it....offers in the region of 130,000. Live and learn, the sellers would have made roughly 10,000 more on that sale if butters john bee actually took customers seriously. Will never use this company to sell any of my properties or will buy a house from anyone that is using this dreadful company. Buyers and sellers beware
