I would highly advise everyone to avoid Butters John Bee at all costs if you are thinking of buying or selling a property. I used Butters John Bee to sell my home that I loved and lived in for many years. I felt that Butters John Bee did not act on my behalf as the home owner and seller and instead it was purely about commission and ease of sale for them. It is quite clear they are in very close communication with local developers and I felt they were more concerned about getting a good deal for the developers in the area who they are friendly with, rather than get me the best price for my house. Butters John Bee did not fight my corner when buyers were being pushy and in one instance did not really allow me to explore an offer that was made by a couple and instead just went with the developer who had already put an offer in. When I expressed via email I wasn't happy with this approach and wanted to explore other offers than just solely the developer offer, I was unable to get hold of my estate agent for over 24 hours! Communication before this had been back and forth pretty much instantly, I was just so disappointed and frustrated with Butters John Bee pretty much throughout the whole of the selling process. Unprofessional and lazy estate agents. Seriously, go anywhere else for your estate agent needs. Terrible.

BJB have been managing a property rental for me for nearly ten years and I have had relatively few issues, although contact has been limited at times and my agent has changed multiple times. Currently, my contact there is Dominika Jaszczyszyn and she has been nothing short of excellent at every point. She ALWAYS comes back with answers when she has said that she would and is reliable, friendly and helpful. As a customer, this is something that you really appreciate and she even manages to make bad news sound not so bad!

She even took time out to help as and our solicitors to get some information missing from the other party. Lovely and friendly, and a very generous pack was given to us at the end of the journey. Had Claire not joined the team recently I would not be rating so highly! She really turned things around for us in terms of our rental property. Issues that were reported previously and not actioned were resolved, and although this ended up with us having to leave the property due to extensive repairs, she supported us every step of the way in terms of finding another property, keeping us updated promptly, and liaising with our landlord when needed. I have rented several properties in the past and have never dealt with a property agent who has been so helpful, truly. Not only is she knowledgable and efficient, but she talks to you compassionately like a human being and I have never felt like a problem even when things were stressful. Thank you for everything Claire and all the best for the future - if only we could take you with us to look after our new place!

I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received from Butters estate agent. They failed to communicate with me about the progress of my property sale, ignored my phone calls and emails, and redirected me to a head office that never returned my messages. They also recommended a conveyancing solicitor that was shut down by the CLC (Council for Licensed Conveyancers) the day before I was supposed to move. Butters did not inform me of this situation and I had to take time away from work and waste my time and money to visit their Hanley branch in person because they wouldn't answer my calls. This has caused me a lot of stress and frustration and I do not recommend them to anyone.

Bought a house from them recently, all good until exchange. Had loads of issues with the house, radio silence from them. No support offered, had to have another survey done for legal purposes. Also turns out the house is on a prepaid gas and electricity meter, no information or keys for these were handed over, we dug them out of a cupboard off our own backs. Appears they're just in it for a pay cheque sadly.
