Dear Mr Maddern Thank you for your review. I am sorry that you have been displeased with the service that you have received from my company. I have spoken with my colleague that handled your enquiry and I understand that he has also called you this afternoon. I have also reviewed our office records. I can see that you viewed a property with us twice and placed an offer that was considerably lower than the figure that the owners were looking to accept. I can also see that you questioned the value of the property due to the time that the property had been available on the market and my colleague explained that the sellers had not accepted any viewings for many months as they were shielding due to the current pandemic. You also expressed your view that you would want/need to make alternations to the property in order for the property to suit your needs. Within a few days of your offer we also received a very strong offer from another party. When this subsequent offer was put to the owners’ they were very pleased and accepted it immediately. I always look for ways to ensure that we deliver the best possible level of customer service and if we fail in any area, I like to see what we could have done differently. I can see here that my colleague has taken your comments at face value and when you did not increase upon your offer he assumed that you were no longer interested in the property. The owners of the property also made it clear that they wished to sell to the person that offered the higher amount. If the property had remained unsold, we would have diarised a further call to you a week later to see if you had any further thoughts on increasing your offer, but in this case the fast pace of the market prevented this from happening. Based upon your feedback and the fact we did not receive any further contact from you, I am sorry that we assumed that you were no longer interested and did not call you to let you know that the property had sold to another party.
