TrustpilotAbsolutely appalling service - do not engage unless you want to be harrassed!
Absolutely appalling service. An appropriate property was found quickly, however all services past that point have been shocking. No initial itinerary was done, concerns about the state of the property and some damages were not actioned appropriately or even comminicated with the landlord. The company was late transferring rent payments to the landlord and blamed us, the tennants, when we were in fact paying the rent early. When it came to moving out they used unethical methods of pressurising us into continuing tennancy through their company, threats regarding debt collectors for certain fees from the landlord, which they had no grounds to ask for. Threatened with council checks to see if we are still at the address, when the landlord had agreed to pospone our moving out date due to health issues. This was all because we had stayed a couple of weeks past our move out date and they demanded to be paid £1650 for renewing the contract, when in reality they were told multiple times we are not renewing a contract and we are moving out, however with a delay due to health issues. Absolutely shocking service which has provided both me and the landlord with so much stress!

GoogleThank you to Peter and Arif for all their help with our flat sale recently - ours was a complicated chain, and they both worked very hard and went the extra mile to ensure all went through successfully.

TrustpilotDefinitely not the right estate agent !!
Definitely not the right estate agent to trust , we saw a house with them and we put an offer and the paperwork was going through and ready when they contacted us saying that the papers were late although i sent it to them on time ! A few days ago i had another viewing with them and i put an offer Saturday morning and when we contacted the office Monday morning they told us the sales advisor hasn’t put the offer yet ( no idea why ) so we asked them to do it and then we visited the office again in the afternoon to confirm everything and we asked them how did we lose the first property they told us that the first house we lost was because someone put higher offer ( while our papers were going through) and we didn’t know that because before they blamed it on the papers delay so we asked them for this house and they said yes we are only waiting for the owner response, around 2 hours later they contacted us and said someone put another offer and was accepted, i think there’s something going on between the office people and some buyers and they give the houses to certain people they know !!! there’s no other explanation. that was Barnard Marcus epsom , kingston road branch . So they’ve not just failed to put my offer on time but they didn’t have the nerve to tell me the truth on the first property i lost and the second one as well , and just a few minutes ago we went to the vendor house and asked them politely if they have a higher offer but they said no we had an offer on the asking price which we did as well ! We offered £5000 more than the asking price so the vendor said you need to give the offer to the office we went to the office and as soon as i asked about Mark ( who was dealing with it ) another one starting talking in a rude way and said that the vendor refused your offer and said they’re happy with the offer they got and we’re not allowed to knock on vendors door and then mark finished his phone call and Continue on what his colleague was saying in the same way !!! Honestly i think they have a deal or something with this “ cash buyer “ of them although they know i have everything ready to buy !

TrustpilotThey simply lie in the ads
They simply lie in the ads! I've just "viewed" a house that I didn't even enter because the ad said that the property had a off street parking, but on site it turned out to be a nasty lie. Terrible practice by this company, they just wasted my time!

TrustpilotDon’t go near this company
I used Barnard Marcus for 18 months. Following rent re-negotiations change they failed update their systems and kept emailing to inaccurately state that my tenant was in arrears. I kept complaining and was twice moved to different property managers within the company but after 6 months this still hadn’t been resolved. They demanded that I paid £600 to break the contract early. Despite doing this the emails have still not stopped. A useless company. Don’t go near them

TrustpilotExcellent Mortgage Advice Services
We recently bought a house, though not from Barnard Marcus, but got connected with their Mortgage Advisor - Monika Werchlewska. She is truly a gem of a person. True to her word, she helped us through to the end of our house purchase. She helped us with not just the mortgage but even to negotiate other aspects of buying a house. She is very knowledgeable and super helpful and friendly person. She helped us understand various aspects to be mindful of while buying a house and got our mortgage approved within 4 days. Highly recommend getting in touch with her if you are looking to buying a house.

TrustpilotWorst estate agent i dealt with
I handed over my property from Yopa to Barnard Marcus to have this sold asap. 7 months down the line only a few viewings with 1 offer which was way under. Communication is the biggest issue this estate agents has and they don't care about your price you want the property sold at but they just want to get rid of it.Would avoid at all costs, have to keep chasing up for feedback, cancellations, updates.Frustrating to say the least. They asked me to reduced my price 3x and even then they could not even get me a decent offer. I honestly believe their client base is awful and they keep blaming the market.

TrustpilotMUST AVOID this agent
MUST AVOID this agent, last year in COVID i had booked rental property and was required to pull out at last min after doing payment but document signature stage. i have been chasing them for refund for last 10+ months and have still not received refund. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with poor service and not professionalism. Also they had reported my details to energy company which kept on chasing me and sending reminder over text, email and call which i had to raise a complaint to address it but agent didn't help to resolve it at all while they had informed Energy company on my details as moving, they should have reported move in cancellation. I followed up with agent but of no support and Energy company wasn't actioning on details i shared.

TrustpilotOur agent Dagmara is simply the best! Highly recommend
I must say our agent Dagmara every step of the way has been exemplary- she put us first as the client and was extremely patient whilst we found our perfect home to move to. She kept our buyer interested and stayed in communication with us, without pushing us hard, we got the sense she actually cared about what we wanted and needed instead of just making a sale. Very effective service from start to completion. Thank you so much, I highly recommend you guys.

TrustpilotRental
I don't normally leave reviews but this time I had too.Found a flat online. I was told the landlord was looking for a long let and good tenants. Was in Italy at the time so couldn't see the place other than what's app videos I was also told parking was available. We got a unfurnished flat. Moved in on the 1st Jan 2021. On the 12th Jan 2021 had calls from another agent. Who had the property for sale. Asking to do viewings during lock down and covid. We asked Barnard Marcus if the landlord wanted to sell, the agent said no.The landlord had viewing since November 2020. (I'm sure Barnard Marcus was aware of these)I wish Barnard Marcus had been honest with us from the get go.So only do we have no parking and was lied to about that. We also have to move out in 6 months. The place was unfurnished, so we spent 6k on furniture had to pay 6 months rent up front. (12k) Had lots of issues of with the flat. A month later its finally being looked into (property management is not very good). At the end of the day, we would have been happy if we found a place with a long let with parking. But at the end of the day nobody likes being lied to. Moving forward we will be triple checking everything with our next place as we don't want to be in this position again.

Trustpilotdisgusting and unprofessional
I viewed a flat with them and they asked for holding deposit! just to put my offer forward to the landlord!!!! and they said we will refund you if the landlord did not accept your offer. Now imagine this could be 10 days of my time wasting if the answer was no. I decided to not to that BUT this is a total lose for the landlords because my offer could have been accepted if that landlord was aware but never been put forward. I would not wanted that if I was a landlord.

TrustpilotVery unprofessional
Very unprofessional. Letted a property through them, had issues with people randomly accessing the property, scheduling viewings without even asking. Absolutely useless at doing any sort of repairs. Still waiting about 6 months for the intercom to be fixed.Currently, the boiler is broken so I don't have hot water or heating and it is 0 degrees - tried contacting them multiple times but they just don't care. In the 13 years I have rented in the UK, I have near had to deal with such incompetence...

TrustpilotThe worst agency I ever had to deal…
The worst agency I ever had to deal with. The contract and they said everything works in the house perfectly whereas when we moved in there was no heating and hot water in the house at end of November. The property manager's response to this after days of waiting for someone to come and fix it, she said it's not an emergency so they can't act without the landlords approval. If something broke in the house and I called them they told us someone is coming to have a look, but no one ever came. When we left with no explanation they took some of our deposit, had to call 3 times to get it sorted and we are still waiting..

TrustpilotEarl’s Court Branch
A heartfelt thanks to branch manager Vicky Horseman, Sales Manager Nathan Davis and their colleagues in the Earl’s Courts Branch for the professionalism, dedication, efficiency and effectiveness of their incredible support throughout the long process of my ultimately successful flat sale. They made a fraught process (no fault of Barnard Marcus) bearable and left no stone unturned in rapidly dealing with obstacles, finding solutions and driving progress. They were a pleasure to deal with throughout and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Trustpilot100% INCOMPETENCE. Best score ever!!
In a scale from 0 to 10 (zero the worst), I have to give BM ZERO for 3 reasons:At the beginning of tenancy BM left me outside the flat for hours because the contract was not signed (when it should have been already signed. I signed the 9/7 and I had to access the flat the 21/7),BM never provided me the calculations and timely infos in order to pay the rent increases for inflations, and now BM cannot handle the end of tenancy professionally (meaning they didnt send me the calc for the last partial month, and I am waiting the deposit refund (already approved 100%) since 1 month. BM has 3 tasks (when it comes to relations with tenants) and they failed miserably on all 3.

TrustpilotAbsolutely disgusting service
Absolutely disgusting service. was so shocked with the service it actually made me laugh. Feel so sorry for anyone trying to sell the home with Barnard marcus in worcester park. I’d seen a property on line that i wanted to view as the phones still wasn’t working and nobody returned my call from another branch I drove there to try and book a viewing. The older lady in the sales team came over and said that house is under offer she then dumped the details of the under offer house on the table and walked off. There wasn’t and conversation regarding other properties similar or budget. She may as well of said “ I hate my job and don’t want your custom”. So shocked and will never use or recommend again. on the bright side my £500,000 will be going to someone helpful.

I called to enquire about a listing on their website. Having phones two different offices and being told that it was dealt with by a different office that I should google (really poor service) I spoke to the correct office. I enquired and they said that those listing had been sold and they would be removed upon completion of the sale. I asked if i could leave my details incase they didn't complete and was informed that they would complete. Didn't take my details for alternate properties or if anything else arose. Terrible. Avoid at all costs.

TrustpilotSo this is why real estate agents have a bad name...
I was a tenant with Barnard and Marcus and my all-round experience has been horrible with them. The property we were rented out had several issues from the beginning of our tenancy, and in the moment we got there we were assured that these issues (ex. window not closing properly, sink with a leak) would be taken care of ASAP. Not so: it took us 6 months of constant badgering to get them fixed, with all the issues getting worse in that time-span (and an attempt on their part to blame it on our own use of the house)! To terminate the tenancy (so that we could get out of this circle of hell), we were told that the only possible way was for them to find a new tenant. So, we were told that they were making sure to do so... not so: a month later we checked and saw that our property was not listed anywhere. We contacted them about it and did not get an answer back for another month, until they decided we were worthy of their communication because we had decided to withhold our month's rent. Overall, B&M is a horrible company to work with. They lack transparency, have poor communication standards, and do not seem to understand their role as an housing agency. I advise fellow tenants not to rent from B&M. Furthermore, I also advise landlords not to list their property with them: they will not do it justice and will be ready to blame you for their own shortcomings. I also advise the few professional individuals in the team to find another place to work at: you guys tried your best, and I honestly appreciated it all year long, but it's not your responsibility to make this agency survive. Jump ship while you can.

The feltham branch are very goof at finding tenants however once the tenants are in the communication after is very poor. Several emails sent and you rarely get a response. And the property management team are quite forceful in the way they demand repairs and work to be done immediatley. If you choose to go with one of their engineers which gives them commission based, I found they overcharge by at least 20%.

TrustpilotSold my house through this agency
Sold my house through this agency: AVOID. These people are below any professional standards. It is because of this type of incompetence and arrogance that Real Estate agents don't always have a good reputation. Shame on Barnard Marcus:- no agents during viewings or late, no contact for 2 months between offer and exchange, property photos were not reflecting the house still after asking to change them, 5 different people to deal with, no support between offer and exchange etc..., arrogance and greed is their motto. I regret I did not use Keating services who happened to be excellent.C.Charon
