TrustpilotShambolic, avoid if possible
You deal with the local agents to view and sign the contract for the property, The inventory is sent by email after you have moved in which is too late, another dept based in a different part of the country deals with repairs. When you leave you deal with yet another drpt in another part of the country and then the inventory when you leave is done days after you have vacated by yet another dept in yet another part of the country. Inventory aren't cross referenced but the one when you leave is done in far more detail than the one given you when you move in. For example and filthy bathroom with cupboards full of sanitary items and burnt candles missed! Missed but on the leaving inventory dust on the mantlepiece picked up. None of the dept talk to each other and none get back to you either. 18 days after moving out still no response about my deposit. Avoid this agency if at all possible, 33yrs of renting and worse agency I have come across

TrustpilotIncompetent and disorganised
Slow staff, very impersonal, made moving that much harder. After seeing a property on rightmove we contacted Taylor’s in the middle of August 22. They said they would be in touch and never contacted us. We rang a further 5 times, offered to pay a holding deposit and explained we needed to be moved by mid September at the latest, had sorted out finance and checks all ourselves to speed the process along. Each time we were told no one had taken our details and never contacted. Today (October 4th) I have just received my first phone call from them asking if I’m still wanting to move.

GoogleMoving house is extremely stressful but Paul Berkeley and Luke Dunbars at Taylors were excellent in making sure my sale (and purchase) actually happened. Having experienced three chain failures these guys made sure it didn't happen again.
Excellent service - I highly recomeend them !

Awful company left us with huge parking debt of over £800. They issued us with a incorrect parking permit and then decided to denie it despite emails and letters confirming they issued it.

TrustpilotGreat for purchases
While I did not rent a property from this agency, I did purchase a home via them. I had fantastic help from Luke Dumburs and Paul Berkley, based in the Stony Stratford branch, who were fantastic in updating me on the situation; asking me for my decisions regarding the design of the new build property; keeping in contact with the developer; and most of all, sold me what was on the tin.

TrustpilotDon’t recommend at all
I do not recommend Taylors Lettings.I had nothing but issues and problems with them and the staff. Most definitely a passing of the buck company. Sent me to different people for certain things such as the Landlord and he sent me straight back to them. It was annoying and tedious.Almost felt like they didn’t know what they were doing. I’m not trying to insult anyone here but I had no faith in the service and often felt they were clueless and were rude to me on occasions. They were not pleasant. The stress I went through to try and get monies owed back to me. It was a complete nightmare. I hope no one else has to chase money from this company. It’s a complete farce. I had to seek legal advice and send a final demand letter to them like I was some sort of debt collector. It was unnecessary. I finally got it back but not the whole amount originally promised but at this point I accepted it because I wanted nothing more to do with them.

TrustpilotThe lack of regard for tenants from…
The lack of regard for tenants from Taylor’s is disgusting, we have had maintenance issues ongoing for 17 months and the latest is the oven door burst and glass shattered everywhere, we have two kids to feed and they don’t give a damn to help and sort issues out. They have the law on their side and we have to keep paying while they sit on their comfy chairs and don’t give a crap about the tenants. We have had 5 property managers in 17 months and they are all talking out of their backsides and them email at 1am to avoid having to deal with the ongoing problems. Don’t trust them, don’t give them you’re hard earned cash to rent from them or even buy from them, they sold this property with Japanese knotweed and they are happy for tenants to live in houses without the basics because they can target the deposit at the end of the tenancy. Don’t use Taylor’s they are con artists. If you speak to Bart, Laura, Teresa or Helen then good luck to you they are pisstakers. Don’t trust them or anyone from this cowboy company.

TrustpilotOverall great experience
After small initial issues with being able to contact Taylors Lettings, things couldn't go any smoother. Both Ashley and Henry have been really efficient and helpful throughout the process. They kept in regular contact with me and were happy to answer all questions and explain the process. I'm really impressed with how the initial hiccup was turned around and how the gentlemen restored my trust in Taylors. Thumbs up.

TrustpilotQuick sale and great communication
Buying a house at any time is a stressful event but when adding in the deadlines of making completion prior to stamp duty cuts, you can imagine the pressure everyone is under!Despite the stressful situation, Taylors were able to sell our house within 1 day, find us an ideal buyer and push the process through quickly and efficiently.Vanessa from the Leighton Buzzard branch consistently kept us informed at all stages of the process even without us even having to chase. This communication made a real difference to the outcome of our sale and enabled us to complete on our dream purchase.Cannot thank her enough for making the process as smooth as possible.

TrustpilotCustomer Neglect & Contract should be invalidated
I am very disappointed with the way I was 'tricked' when shown only a part of a contract, hiding small print notes and not disclosing them when a number of specific questions were asked. I believe that a legal document should have been given in advance and allowed to be read fully, rather than only 'waved' in front of my eyes and talked through, choosing and picking which aspects to disclose and which ones to hide. Also, no estate agent had offered that they would come to complete the viewings. I would have no problem vacating the property to ensure that the viewings were completed in line with the government guidance, should this have been offered back then. I had not questioned this before as I thought I had to complete the viewings myself. I only discovered that I was wrong a couple of weeks later, when I went to view other properties myself and discovered that each viewing was carried by an estate agent, not the home owner. This made me question that the estate agent claims a commission fee, but withdraws from carrying their duties. Also, all of the people coming to view our property were not advised by the estate agent to be mindful of the government guidance. Some came without face masks, all came without gloves and had touched door handles and other objects when viewing our house. Again, we were not aware that this should look differently, until we went to complete our viewings, carried by estate agents elsewhere, where no viewing would be allowed without a face mask or gloves. Taylors had neglected us, as customers, and did put my family at risk.

I have sadly been really let down by this agency. I was in the process of buying my first home for about 5 months that due to no fault of my own fell through. Even though I have been promised that I will get my holding deposit refunded from the get go (that I also have in writing) , after 7 weeks I still haven't received a penny. I'm just continuously chasing my Own money week after week. I have been continously ignored by every person in the new homes team from the bottom up, even the menager. I have had to get the Financial Ombudsman Services involved trying to get my own money back. I definitely wouldn't recommend this agency to any one as you will never get a refund (even if they promise one) on your holding deposit and you will be ignored by the new homes team throughout the whole property buying process or the refund process. The worst of them all is definitely Bradley from the new homes team who during the whole 5 months of my purchase process and 2 months of chasing my Own money, hasn't replied to a single email he's been sent either by me or any other person involved in the process. At this point I'm not even sure if he's a real person or they just made him up. Beyond abysmal customer service, beware!

TrustpilotMisrepresented offers as cash, didn't listen or pay attention expect us to dance like monkeys to make it easier for them
I started selling my grandparents property with Taylors roath, they organised viewings and the problems started. We asked them to call when they were done showing people round so we could come home, they didn't call, half hour after viewings were meant to end, freezing we headed home to see what was up.All lights on, gates opened no sign of agent. We get in, settle, warm up and nearly hour half later I call them to find out whats going on.They say they will let us know in the morning the offers.I check cctv he left half hour early leaving, didn't call so we were out in the cold for a hour longer than needed was pissed.I end up calling them later next day as they never called get told of a 145k offer, a 125k the three 100k offers.... but the 125k one is cash, faster sale no mortgage to worry about so we take 20k loss and go for it as we want to move.Sales progressing and weeks in we get told its not actually a cash offer.... its a Ltd company mortgage still sound they assure us, we have done alot of the paper work, times pressing on we have put a offer on a house which was accepted as we would be cash buyers, that's what we had been told.... so we inform the estate agent we are buying from and they say its fine and we continue bit niffed that we missed out on 20k.During this time they also suprised us with asking for £400 upfront for the house we are buying for "searches" we were NEVER informed before hand of this so thanks for that cause I just have money lying round no wait I did tell them we didn't.Then over a month and half into paperwork for sale of old home and the purchase of our new home nearly complete, our buyer drops out as they don't like thier interest rate. thought this offer was cash then it was supposed a rock solid mortgage.... livid but keep it together. We then have Karl arranging more viewings, he offers Tuesday Wednesday, I say Tuesday partner works from home thats thier day off. He then calls asking for Saturday, said partners working we would have to stay in the house... nooo problem they would just poke thier heads in the room, they start booking in viewers going over the two hours... OK.Then we get a email saying we have to be out of the house for the viewings.. its minus two, we have no where to go and my partner is working from home they know all this.At this point I have lost it, they have made it difficult since day one, misrepresented offers, bought suprised charges and expected us to lose wages to fix thier mess ups. I am fuming. I wish I had never gone with Taylors Roath.

TrustpilotCompletely Incompetent
Taylors Lettings are absolutely useless, and they are undeserving of 1 star. The customer service is appalling - no one responds to emails, phone calls, or simple requests. We need to constantly chase them to undertake the most basic tasks, and they are knowingly negligent of basic safety standards.Without warning they removed their "emergency" contact number, rendering us helpless on a number of occasions.I am a frequent review reader and rare poster, but the level of negligence was incomprehensible and had to be written.

TrustpilotTaylors, Downend
I don't usually leave bad reviews, but after months of trying to find a landlord that accepts pets, calling agencies after agencies, we finally came across this property with Taylors. Everything described beautifully and finally at the end nothing mentioned about "no pets allowed". Full of hope, we call to make sure about the pet part. We have good references, happy to pay more for rent, happy to give an extra deposit. The answer was a rude' NO' to all our questions. Rude, unhelpful and very abrupt answers and attitude. Absolutely disappointed and disgusting. I don't know how these people still have a job.

Trustpilot!!!!! Never give Taylors any lettings !!!!
!!!!! Never give Taylors any lettings !!!!I am a landlord. The letting was given to Taylors (the first mistake to start with). An agent visited my property and promised me number of things before I gave them a fully managed contract. I found the tenants for them not Taylors. When i called them to find out what is fully managed contract ? so Taylors explained, collecting the rent from the tenant and pass it back to landlord after deducting all their fees. Nothing else is included. I don't live near the property so want a property visit atleast may be every 3 months to make sure my property is in good condition. This was promised when the agent visited the property. I should have got everything in written (second mistake). Saying that there was not a single visit to property from Taylors to make sure the property is fine and no damage done by tenants. More scenarios: Taylors think they can deduct whatever money they think and just send an invoice. it happened twice. I called the office and asked what this new charge is ? and they don't know it so asked to contact the countrywide office. Ok, so called the countrywide office and they said we made a mistake and refunded the money. I would have lost more than £100 if didn't check the invoices. More than a year and i decided I don't want Taylors to manage my property anymore (as they were doing nothing apart from taking out there share). So contacted Taylors and the lady on the phone asked me to send an e-mail with a written notice to stop the service and explained its a 3 month notice period. I asked them the e-mail address and sent the notice and now waiting for the reply back. over 2 week and was surprised no reply so checked my e-mail account and ofcorse they gave me a wrong e-mail address even though i asked for a letter to letter e-mail id at the time of giving notice. I sent my notice e-mail again and since the rent date was already passed, the notice period counts from the next rent period (no way!!).Finally the time came to end the contract and i need the tenant details to hand over to the next management company and the tenant deposit details so that it can be protected under deposit scheme. Called the Taylors local office and they said contact countrywide ok so I called countrywide and they said contact Taylors. Don't know who to contact now. After some heated conversation countrywide took responsibility. sent them the government deposit scheme details and the game starts again. Every time i call them to find out the status on when do i expect the deposit in the deposit scheme ? They say we just picked up the e-mail and will forward it to the deposit scheme department and that happens everytime i call. Finally i managed to get to the right person and they said we received the details today and the deposit will transfer today. Not at all a customer friendly service. Taylors only looking to get money out of your pocket and delay things as much as possible. Never let with Taylors. On a side note: Taylors famous tag line when you are trying to reach someone, the person you are trying to reach is on the phone and will give you a call back. Believe me they will never call you back
